...so, if we're looking at December 10 onwards (?), that week is fine.

That narrows it down no end. If everywhere is full, we may end up on benches in the gardens with a carrier bag of sandwiches, a box of vino and twenty straws!

Why not just set a date and that's that? Otherwise you could be faffing about trying to suit everyone until there's nowhere left who can accommodate us. That hotel was good btw. Good location and reasonable price.

So far I have nothing in diary for December so open to dates.

I have nothing on in Dec yet. If I know the date well in advance I can forewarn DIL and ask her not to work that day.
I agree with Jane, that hotel was great value and the company was good too!

I agree with Jane’s suggestion......pick a date and see who can make it. Time isn’t really on our side for a Cmas booking so the less delay the better.

I've emailed the Old Waverley to ask about dates that week, plus how are they about gluten free and do they have a lift up to the restaurant. Nice quick reply and they seem to think they will be able to accommodate us - but they forgot the festive menu that they said they were attaching, and have not answered either question. I've just emailed again!

Slight progress - one out of two . "Regarding your questions, we can provide gluten-free options and the main entrance has 27 steps to get to the Cranston's Restaurant." The menu was re-sent but I still can't see it.
