Hello, I've just joined. Any other grans in Glasgow who would like to meet for coffee and a chat?

Jangran99 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:48:11

Whit are you like? Wait till they hear that in the Argy Bargy, they’ll never believe your gents toilet entry was accidental ???

Thanks Grans for a lovely chatty meet and here’s to the next one.

Last one to check in! It was a long journey for me but well worth it. Great company and a bit weird how I was with folks I didn't really know but it felt so relaxed. A few laughs were had but the best one of the day was reading Marydoll's' 'incident just now. I'm glad I didn't read it on the bus as my laughter would have had passengers thinking I'd been on the wine! Looking forward to the next meet.

Brilliant time had by all!! MaryDoll and you were the entertainment. grin
GN ers told me about snag tights and I've just bought a pair. They are really comfy and stretchy and do not fall down.

Oh, Marydoll, that was hilarious! Your account had me in stitches! ???

NanKate Sat 16-Feb-19 21:36:11

Having laughed all day over Marydoll’s incident I thought I would check out where she had her nasty experience with her lowering tights. I suspect I can see her. Just go to Google Instant Street View and type in Renfield Street and all will be revealed. ?

I have to admit as I live in Southern England I have had to resort to a bit of the old tinternet, as my friend calls it.

It's great to hear there are people meeting up. I work full time and can't make coffees etc, but I loved reading this thread.

Marydoll Mon 08-Apr-19 22:52:50

granAnnie", that a shame you are unable to come to any meets. We are planning to have another Glesca Grannies after Easter, probably in the Concert Hall café.
Some of us had a very enjoyable gathering in Edinburgh today.

Ive been following gransnet for a while now and there seem to be some lovely people posting. I've recently been widowed and trying to live a new life . I see some of you from Glasgow were talking about a meet up. Did it work out ? and if so is it still going?

GrannyBear Tue 19-Nov-19 21:28:33

I’d be happy to go to a meet-up in Glasgow, or nearby Nanabas. Anyone else interested???

weenanni59 Wed 20-Nov-19 09:59:39

Hi Nanabas
I can meet in Glasgow if I’m around.
I’m going to the Edinburgh meet up in December but I’m from the west coast .
Sorry to hear you are newly widowed,
Take care

Hi, I have also just joined and would like to join you all at the meet up in Glasgow, if possible. X

Marydoll Wed 27-Nov-19 07:52:43

Hi to the new Glesca Grannies, I've just noticed the new posts. We haven't had a meet up recently, due to my ill health.
I'm so disappointed to be missing the two Edinburgh ones, as I'm not up to it. A few of us from the West go to the Edinburgh ones, it's a grand day out.

However, I would be happy to organise something in Glasgow in the New Year.
Our preferred venue is the Royal concert hall, as the cafe has lovely cakes and it is central!!
Will we try and organise something for January?
I definitely can't do a Tuesday or Thurs afternoon, childminding duties.

Looking forward to hearing from you and any other Glesca Grannie, who is interested.

Remember, there is the Good Morning thread is you wish to dip your toe in the water, you will be most welcome.

January sounds good. I would certainly try to make it. And it would be nice to meet you, Marydoll. You were missed in Edinburgh yesterday.

Marydoll Wed 27-Nov-19 08:06:07

Thank you, firdaus19, I was so disappointed about Edinburgh yesterday, they are a lovely crowd.

Jangran and I have been trying for ages to gather some Glasgow grans. It's good to see new members.
I wonder if Baggs has seen this. ?

Baggs Wed 27-Nov-19 09:09:11

I have now! Yep, I'm up for a Glasgow meetup in January sometime. ?

firdaus19 Wed 27-Nov-19 09:34:54

Good morning, Nanabas. I've sent you a PM.

BiNtHeReDuNiT14 Wed 27-Nov-19 10:11:43

I am up for a meetup in the New Year too, cheer up January. I have attended a few in Edinburgh in the past, which I always enjoyed enormously. ( Elegran and her band of merry Grans) are so welcoming but cannot make it that far at present due to family circumstances. In the West so can easily make it to Glasgow, please count me in.

GrannyBear Wed 27-Nov-19 10:21:24

Good to see some interest in a Glasgow Meet-up in January. Count me in! I can’t do Thursdays. Concert Hall is good choice of venue Marydoll .

Marydoll Wed 27-Nov-19 10:25:18

Hi BiNtHeReDuNiT14, Baggs said you might be interested.
This is getting better by the minute! grin

I have messaged a couple of others, whom I know might also be interested.

Fingers crossed for January. I do have a few hospital appointments and I'm sure others will have committments also. We will work something out.

Marydoll Wed 27-Nov-19 10:26:36

You too Grannytbear! grin

Best days seem to be Fridays and Mondays at the moment.

weenanni59 Wed 27-Nov-19 10:46:50

Marydoll Wed 27-Nov-19 17:25:20
