Oh, for Pete's sake drop it, Gracesgran ! Many, many things are posted on gransnet with the proviso "In my opinion . . ." or "I suspect that . . ." or some such modifier. I have posted that kind of thing myself without being lambasted.
On the political threads, in particular, much is said that could be taken by some readers to mean that they are stupid, lazy, ignorant or just plain stubborn, for not agreeing with one side of a debate. Surely reading that someone has a gut feeling that one group seems optimistic and the other pessimistic is not going to send anyone into a decline?
Have you considered the possibility (remote, I am sure) that accusing thatbags of being inconsiderate when she were doing no such thing could produce as much pain and angst as the posting you are condemning?
There must be more worthwhile posts that you could make.
