This could and probably will go on for yearsgrin

Just to note that as well as Japan putting down markers, Australia has advised that we will behind the EU in any trade negotiations.

durhamjen Thu 29-Sept-16 23:35:04

Does he have a Turkish passport, or can he get one?

whitewave Fri 30-Sept-16 07:09:06

Goodness knows.

The idiocy of this man is breathtaking. He behaves like an overgrown schoolboy.

Public schools seem to excell in churning out schoolboys full of their own importance with a overblown sense of their ability and a maturity level of about 15. Look at the disaster that is Osborne.

The German banking system is in crisis and in fact will soon need a bail out, but as Adolph Merkle put such a tough regime in place when Greece and Italy needed the same thing the E.U will have to apply or should apply the same rules for Germany which would mean the collapse of the Euro.So there really wont be any need to negotiate anything.

One wonders what else BJ has had to do, to build a bridge with Turkey. Robert Peston tweeted "I am lost for words".
Crazy on so many levels.

whitewave Fri 30-Sept-16 10:47:45

He holds one of the great offices of state. You really have to question May's judgement on so many levels.

durhamjen Fri 30-Sept-16 11:48:34

When he was in America he was being interviewed on Newsnight by satellite link. Most of the questions he was waving away very dismissively, no real answers, just like the overgrown schoolboy he is, as you said, whitewave.
My grandson says he is like Mr Toad, because he's always pooh-poohing things.

Nissan this morning said on local radio that it would not invest in Washington unless it knew for certainty in the next few months that it was not going to lose out by Brexit. They were talking about a possible 10% tariff.

' “The UK is a full and founding member of the WTO,” the international trade secretary said. This part is true.

“We have our own schedules that we currently share with the rest of the EU. These set out our national commitments in the international trading system.” This part is not true.

“The UK will continue to uphold these commitments when we leave the European Union.” This part is potentially revealing.'

This is from an article about a speech made by Liam Fox at the WTO.
He seems to be saying that nothing will change as far as trade is concerned.
So much for taking back control.

Ana Fri 30-Sept-16 18:03:57

Thought you'd be glad about that!

Guy Verhofstadt getting his own back.

rosesarered Fri 30-Sept-16 21:23:49

Getting his own back? hmm More like simply politicking and posturing from the EU, plus bluster, bluff and double bluff.

durhamjen Fri 30-Sept-16 21:32:14

You've read it, have you?
It confuses me as much as him, the way the three Brexiteers have no idea what they are doing/saying.

rosesarered Fri 30-Sept-16 21:36:34

Ah, but I'm sure that they do......probably a cunning plan to confuse Guy V.

rosesarered Fri 30-Sept-16 21:36:56

grin

durhamjen Fri 30-Sept-16 22:02:39

So you haven't read it. Not surprised.

daphnedill Fri 30-Sept-16 22:12:48

Post-truth politics wink

rosesarered Fri 30-Sept-16 22:17:15

I never read your links Djen ( life is too short) but heard about the same thing on the radio ....Turkey etc.

durhamjen Fri 30-Sept-16 22:40:47

So you don't read it, but feel qualified to comment on it?
How can you say what Verhofstadt meant when you haven't read his comment on facebook?

Tegan Fri 30-Sept-16 22:56:15

People 'in control' don't need to read anything. Can't help but feel that, if this mess is going to be sorted it'll be the remainers who do it. Did anyone read what Ken Clarke said the other day? (Can't do links on my rubbish pad thingy).

rosesarered Fri 30-Sept-16 22:56:32

I heard what he said, on the radio.Qualified to comment on it......where do you think we are, being grilled in the House Of Commons.Lighten up.

rosesarered Fri 30-Sept-16 22:57:59

Of course you feel that way * Tegan* ( perhaps because you voted to Remain.)

Is this what you meant, Tegan?
He's right.

durhamjen Fri 30-Sept-16 23:51:50

Brilliant. Javid has said that after Brexit EU builders will still be welcome back.

inews.co.uk/essentials/news/politics/builders-welcome-brexit-says-sajid-javid/

They will be granted special status.
What did Brexiters vote for?
