Yes I do realise all that trisher and at times the demonstrators were out en masse. It still doesn't explain why there are at times demonstrations against the West, but never against Russia, i.e. Crimea, East Ukraine, Georgia, and now Syria! Why so vociferous in one camp, and strangely silent in the other?

Putin and what the Russians are doing in Syria is VILE, we are there, alongside other countries to help the people as best we can and try and stop Daesh from over running the country(. With their own brand of vileness)THEY ( Russians) are bombing and killing the people ON PURPOSE to help Assad.

Perhaps those who voted for the war in Iraq should realise that this is what happens and maybe next time there is a peace rally our government will listen. We provided the climate for Daesh to prosper and the Russians took advantage of it to assert their influence in the worst possible way. Condemn them by all means but recognise the events which led to this situation.

We can realise and do, but what's done is done and we can't alter it, hindsight is a wonderful thing and if we'd realised then what we now know, no doubt things would have been conducted totally differently, abut it still doesn't answer why the West gets protested against vociferously but Russia never has/ does even when they deliberately behave so appallingly.

I am always amazed at those who look at a war see the mess it has made but imagine that all it needs to sort things out is another battle somewhere.

Of course it's a bloody war crime, completely agree with you there, but as to what to do about it - well, no-one on GN has got the answer any more than the politicians. And I do think Russia should be condemned, wholeheartedly. But at the same time we need to recognise that we and other so called civilised countries have contributed and continue to contribute in making things worse, sometimes with the best of intentions and sometimes only with the intention of making money for arms dealers, or protecting our own interests. And as an aside, I don't like Seams Milne and would love Corbyn to get rid of him.

We don't need hysteria, but to call honest revulsion at what Russia is doing in Aleppo 'jingoism' is in itself , unfeeling and also untrue.

We were not talking about 'what to do about it' that's a whole other question, but to more or less dismiss (As one or two posters are doing) That Russia is doing all Assads dirty work in this massacre, and that ' we are all as guilty' well, no we are bloody well not.
