Paul Nuttell is according to the poles is 10% ahead in the Stoke bi-election, so I thought I would look at some of his beliefs. I was astounded at how similar they are to Trumps.

1. Privatisation of the NHS - this has been taken from his website because he needs the votes. Privatisation of the NHS doesn't attract votes.

2. Wants a referendum to vote on restricting woman's rights. He is anti-abortion, and believes that there should be a ban on adverts for family planning and abortion.

3. Burka ban. In all public buildings.

4. Against banning discrimination against gays.

5. So he believes in placing restrictions on Muslim belief/culture, but is against any restriction to Christian beliefs.

6. Thinks sexist comment are OK, and against placing restrictions on these type of comments.

No wonder he was so thrilled when Trump won the election.

Oh, how do you know what it was about if you weren't here and it was deleted pretty sharpish? Have you got a hotline to GNHQ?

Ankers Mon 13-Feb-17 09:40:00

By the way, the post Dj had deleted wasn't proved to be fake news

Really? How do you know?
Not sure that was what GNHQ said, but someone else cna check that.

I am not going to say anything else for now, as I can see that 3 posters are intent on saying things that I did not say. And dont care that my words are there for all to read!

MawBroon Mon 13-Feb-17 09:41:18

Oh is that comment about "having no sympathy for DJ " still there? IMO it shouldn't be and I would consider it demands an apology,

daphnedill Mon 13-Feb-17 09:44:14

I can read without posting.

Ankers Mon 13-Feb-17 09:47:14

Having now had a conversation with gransnet, it looks to me like they deleted the wrong post? I will carry on talking with them to sort it out.

Ana Mon 13-Feb-17 09:48:32

Then you had no reason to ask me what I meant, nor to say that durhamjen 'always' gives sources, if you read it at the time.

daphnedill Mon 13-Feb-17 09:56:28

I'm here to discuss News and Politics, not indulge in playground antics.

Now then, moving on ...

Ana Mon 13-Feb-17 10:06:41

Hmm...don't explain then. I'm sure you have your sources but I'm bored with it now.

whitewave Mon 13-Feb-17 10:10:05

grin

rosesarered Mon 13-Feb-17 10:14:44

Why should I have gone Ankers? We have just had a few days away ( and very nice it was too.) smile

Ankers Mon 13-Feb-17 10:17:38

Good. On both levels. smile

MawBroon Mon 13-Feb-17 10:25:28

Easy to be bored with UKIP and Paul Nuttall, Ana
No excuse needed. (Just hope we don't get more adulation from his/their supporter(s). )
grin

Oh I don't think anybody on here now would dare to say that they are UKIP supporters, even though it is quite legal and above board as a political party, although as a forum there must be some who support them.Only Mair had the bottle to do that on Gransnet, and I suppose she has been reported so many times that either she has given up with the forum or been banned.Mair was the subject of so many attacks that I am not surprised that she has ( seemingly) gone.
It ( the forum) should be a place for all sorts of views, even ones that are very different from our own, and Mair tried to be polite when answering jibes, but was bound at times to attack back.I found the whole thing depressing, that a poster can be treated this way for having different political views tbh.

whitewave Mon 13-Feb-17 10:44:53

We all have our own views about Mair rose yours is merely one amongst many.

rosesarered Mon 13-Feb-17 10:48:58

Yes, I know that ww and my own opinion ( like everybody elses) can only be one opinion.

Rigby46 Mon 13-Feb-17 10:53:12

Oh here we go again- UKIP supporters daren't say they are? Mair got lots of deletions because s/he broke the rules and frequently her/his posts were quite vile. Politeness was not a characteristic that I attributed to her/his posts and neither was accuracy of facts overall. Do you honestly think that the posts were deleted because she had a political point of view that HQ don't like because that's what you are in fact implying? And now Ankers is on some sort of personal crusade agsinst DJ- I reported two of her posts a few days ago which were deleted and fully deserved to be. I am actually appalled at how often DJ is seen as fair game for either outrageous personal attacks on her integrity or the snide snipey comments about her posting links- the latter comments often from those who rarely if ever post anything of any weight or that contributes to a discussion in any meaningful way. When I first started posting in October, I was attacked very early on because I posted something that was seen as supportive of DJ. It's absolutely pathetic and the idea that people daren't post? For goodness sake. The criticism hurled at the 'lefties' is regular - yesterday we were 'sanctimonious' sometimes we are 'virtue signallers' and so on - and you are scared to post? Oh come on.

Rigby46 Mon 13-Feb-17 10:54:48

I am not DJ's mother btw grin

whitewave Mon 13-Feb-17 11:03:04

Anyway how do we know Mair has been zapped? She might be on a break like you rose

Do so agree with your post rig

Riverwalk Mon 13-Feb-17 11:17:57

Surely Mair is a He?

Ana Mon 13-Feb-17 11:21:35

durhamjen gives as good as she gets and is very quick with the sarky comments herself - not just in retaliation.

I don't know what all that with Ankers was about earlier as I didn't see the first deleted post.

MawBroon Mon 13-Feb-17 11:21:54

Hard to tell riverwalk. His/her style was quite forthright and "masculine" (not saying women aren't forthright) but other things didn't sound quite right.
No mention of children or grandchildren though, sometimes made me wonder if he/she was parachuted in by UKIP to promote the cause.
BTW I always used to reckon I could tell whether a novel had been written by a man or a woman, but of course I couldn't!

rosesarered Mon 13-Feb-17 11:22:37

Well, I don't agree with your post Rigby.... and I certainly don't agree that any poster who happens to be a UKIP supporter would not be put be off posting on here, you must be joking, is what I would say.By the laws of percentages there must be some on the forum......so what exactly is holding them back, if not the fear of being jumped on and roundly rubbished. So, yes, I do think that posters daren't post.
However, if they all start posting now, then I am willing to say I was wrong about that.

rosesarered Mon 13-Feb-17 11:25:48

Mair is a woman, and actually did talk about DC and DG on other threads ( non political) and gave some good advice on those threads too, for those who asked for it.
Not that it matters, as men are welcome on here anyway.

MawBroon Mon 13-Feb-17 11:26:29

Apologies to her, missed those.

whitewave Mon 13-Feb-17 11:28:46

I think that the trouble if you are a supporter of ukip, it is very difficult to know what ukip represents other than support for lowering immigration. I have tried and failed to find out any sensible and rounded political policies. I think that is why it would be difficult to post as a supporter of ukip.
