Paul Nuttell is according to the poles is 10% ahead in the Stoke bi-election, so I thought I would look at some of his beliefs. I was astounded at how similar they are to Trumps.

1. Privatisation of the NHS - this has been taken from his website because he needs the votes. Privatisation of the NHS doesn't attract votes.

2. Wants a referendum to vote on restricting woman's rights. He is anti-abortion, and believes that there should be a ban on adverts for family planning and abortion.

3. Burka ban. In all public buildings.

4. Against banning discrimination against gays.

5. So he believes in placing restrictions on Muslim belief/culture, but is against any restriction to Christian beliefs.

6. Thinks sexist comment are OK, and against placing restrictions on these type of comments.

No wonder he was so thrilled when Trump won the election.

Ahh

Spelling. My turn to say FFS.

Paul Nuttall (out of sight) prepares for the Dam Busters raid.
On Al Murray's twitter feed.
He broke the four minute mile, too, out of sight of the photo.

MawBroon Sun 19-Feb-17 21:16:35

One doing the rounds at present

"It’s odd that Paul Nuttall makes all these fanciful claims on his CV but didn’t include prolific writer of fiction."

POGS it's not just spelling when it is the WRONG WORD, but apologies if dyslexia is the reason.

MawBroon Sun 19-Feb-17 21:19:53

Or this one?

"The guy who’s currently erasing Paul Nuttall’s omnipotent fake CV may as well remove UKIP leader while he’s there."

I just read her manifesto (very briefly) - Magna Carta woman.
She wants to re-nationalise the railways (amongst many other things), that can't be bad surely?

But:
She wants to charge Churchill with treason
Repatriate Irish travellers - and their ancestors confused (reinternment?)
Psychiatrists and Mental Health workers will have a higher IQ than the patients they pretend to be superior to.
So compulsory IQ tests before anyone can see a psychiatrist
Does she include herself in that?

Is it me or .....?

And we thought Nuttall was odd

MawBroon Mon 20-Feb-17 00:10:59

That bit about psychiatrists is going to be tricky for very brainy people isn't it?

She should try standing fur Barking (sounds it)

durhamjen Mon 20-Feb-17 00:22:21

Isn't she 78? Quite old to be standing for the first time.
I wonder how she knows so much about psychiatrists. Did one pretend to be superior to her?

durhamjen Mon 20-Feb-17 00:25:43

"Labour sneer at the English flag, refuse to sing the national anthem and are apologists for the IRA. If you don't vote UKIP it won't change."

This is Nuttall today on twitter. I think his psychiatrist should be okay.

Nuttall explaining himself in the working class Telegraph today.

I like "a piece of incorrect information going out in my name" it's a whole new term for lying. Wish I'd thought of it years ago.

Totally off thread but perhaps interesting- the suffragettes stood up in church in Newcastle and sang "God save Emmeline Pankhurst" when she was in prison in 1913. The National Anthem isn't sacred.

MawBroon Mon 20-Feb-17 10:52:13

Sometimes I really do feel I am living in a parallel universe with the POTUS peddling fake news (and then accusing everybody else) parliamentary candidates doing likewise -lying on your CV has never been easier to spot, so why bother, election manifestos which make the late Screaming Lord Sutch look mild by comparison, pronouncements whose spelling would not pass the eagle eye of my primary school teacher, MPs , those pillars of society (?) cheating and fiddling their expenses, university students who lack the intellectual capacity to cope with "he/she" and ban raising a hand to ask a question (can't remember why now, is it threatening? Sexist? Not PC?) all a sort of drip, drip erosion of right, proper or accurate.
I am not sure if my late parents would be able to laugh or just shake their heads sadly.
sad

durhamjen Mon 20-Feb-17 10:52:51

Two of UKIP's top people in Liverpool have resigned because they are ashamed of Nuttall. I think they should have more to be ashamed of, but that will do for a start.

This is telling them.

durhamjen Thu 23-Feb-17 23:17:00

I've just read that if Nuttall loses, he will not be on Marr's programme on Sunday.
Who or what do you think should replace him?

Anniebach Thu 23-Feb-17 23:24:22

He will lose so to replace him? why not Neil Hamilton, replace a liar with a liar

Rigby46 Thu 23-Feb-17 23:26:31

Love the idea of 'what' should replace him. I'll have a think about that.....and meanwhile cross my fingers for the result - but only in as much as I want him to lose - if I were a voter there I'd be in the 'none of the above' category

daphnedill Fri 24-Feb-17 00:29:20

You wouldn't have been the only one. The turnout was 38.2%, which is even lower than the 2015 election.

Fingers crossed Ukip will be toast. I wonder if Arron Banks will make good his promise to start a new political party.

Never mind! Nuttall is such a multi-talented chap wink that I'm sure he'll find a new job when he stops being an MEP.

Jalima Fri 24-Feb-17 00:31:44

I wonder if the weather had a lot to do with it - Storm Doris was dreadful and perhaps that is why the turnout was so low.

daphnedill Fri 24-Feb-17 00:38:02

It could be. I heard on the radio that somebody was seriously injured in Stoke. However, the turnout in Copeland, where the weather was also bad, was over 50%.

MawBroon Fri 24-Feb-17 06:14:31

Goodbye Paul Nuttall and frankly, should it not also be Goodbye UKIP?
A party whose very success in achieving the thing they were set up to achieve, Brexit, brought with it a blunt question - what is the point of them now?
(Although nor strictly germane to this thread, the Tories have taken Copeland ) So it's UKIP -nul points

suzied Fri 24-Feb-17 06:58:06

Perhaps he'll resign as leader now.
Here's hoping...

Riverwalk Fri 24-Feb-17 07:48:20

A good news day!

rosesarered Fri 24-Feb-17 09:15:55

I lost my (virtual) tenner on the result, but I can live with that.smile

Juliette Fri 24-Feb-17 10:19:57

........and I didn't have to eat my (virtual) hat. ? smile
