Anyone got any information we can put onto this thread please?

FarNorth Wed 26-Apr-17 08:09:34

It's not Conservative or chaos. The Conservatives are the ones aiming to bring about the most chaos.

FarNorth Wed 26-Apr-17 08:10:37

I'd like to see some reasoned thinking in favour of voting Conservative, on this thread.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 08:14:04

That's what I'm waiting for north

Anniebach Wed 26-Apr-17 08:48:05

Is it Whitewave? That's why you started thread?

Iam64 Wed 26-Apr-17 08:54:01

Good question whitewave. The first thing I noticed was the good school for every child and no reference to Grammar Schools. One of my dreads is that they'll include that commitment and when they win the election, say they have a mandate.
The main reason I can see to vote Conservative is Theresa May. It's no secret that I won't vote Conservative but, I suspect for many people she is seen as a reliable, safe pair of hands. The speech she made on the steps of Downing Street when she won the leadership contest was good, the fact her words don't seem to be put into actions hasn't yet come back to bite her. When I consider international issues, I'd rather see her in charge of negotiating with Putin, Trump and Kim Yung than either of the leaders of the other two main parties.

Can you see Corbyn along Trump! You wouldn't know whether to cry or laugh.
We will need to move closer to America - like it or not - so I feel at this moment in time, socialism will be linked to communism which is totally alien to our cousins across the pond.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 09:34:39

beam looking at the 10 points so far published by the LP, which one points to us heading to a communist society?

iam64. Yes I noticed that. But apparently there is a thought that May will make the Tories manifesto as woolly as possible so that she will have a totally free and in a right wing government. That is worrying because it means people are willing to give her a blank cheque for everything!!

Cindersdad Wed 26-Apr-17 09:39:05

My view is that a bigger majority for the Tories may give more stable government. However as a minority of the electorate normally vote Tory the government will be resented. The Tories will most likely be the largest group in parliament but if they don't have an overall majority they will have to listen to others. That is where the Lib Dems, SNP, Labour and even UKIP can hold them to account, that is democracy.

The important thing is to vote for your chosen candidate as it is only by voting that you can make a difference. Too many citizens simply don't vote.

Beammeupscottie Wed 26-Apr-17 09:45:35

I suspect the Tory election policy is do be like Brer Rabbit. Lie low and watch the others scrabble for credibility.
Corbyn is the real liability for the LP. We all know it. Until he goes, Labour will not be taken seriously. Even the Daily Mirror has sidelined Labour to a small side section of it's front page, preferring to headline Madeleine McCann.
So all of Labour's election manifesto will be drowned because of their inability to get rid of a weak leader.

Anniebach Wed 26-Apr-17 09:58:18

Cindersdad, voting for our chosen candidate could be difficult this time, we cannot choose our candidate

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 17:12:09

Cindersdad, you forgot the strong....

No, because they waste money on pet projects in education.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 18:26:10

With luck, she may backtrack on the triple lock.

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 18:27:47

How can she backtrack when she hasn't said yay or nay yet? confused

rosesarered Wed 26-Apr-17 19:16:08

grin

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 19:31:21

This is why you shouldn't vote conservative.
She has done so many uturns you wonder why she wants to be PM.

rosesarered Wed 26-Apr-17 19:33:51

I think you will find that Corbyn, far from bringing down any Tory house of cards, will be brought down himself pretty soon.

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 19:35:12

Have you read the thirty changes he's forced on the Tory party?

rosesarered Wed 26-Apr-17 20:15:09

That's the whole job of opposition, in fact he has given the Tories an easier ride than at any time I can remember.

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 20:25:56

Not read the u-turns he's forced, then. Thought not.

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 20:39:38

Forced? I doubt it - why haven't all these u-turns been in the media then, how come it's only you that seems to know about them?

durhamjen Wed 26-Apr-17 21:12:48

Another reason not to vote Tory.

Please sign and put on facebook.

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 21:20:58

What about the 30 u-turns?

Anniebach Wed 26-Apr-17 21:45:40

What are the thirty u turns ?

whitewave Thu 27-Apr-17 08:14:03

Just listening to Johnson. God he is sooooo embarrassing.

He's the sort of person that when he opens his mouth other people in the room catch each other's eye and raise a rye grin and eyebrows.

He seems to have never matured since school.
