I don't understand that, Welshwife. The whole reason the DUP did not agree on Monday was because they wanted everything to be the same over the whole of the UK.
Obviously not for EU citizens living anywhere but Northern Ireland, though.

It is all so complicated Jen. It is as much as anything to do with free movement of Uk citizens at the moment living in the EU - it looks as if they will not be able to move to another EU country as you can now - except presumably move back to UK - or work across borders which a lot of people do.
It is being said that TM wants to curtail the rights of EU citizens in UK and so this will impact on Uk citizens in EU.
As with so many things you can see contradictory reports. The legal one I read today was so complicated it gave me a head ache!

It's all ambiguity and fudge so that people can interpret it in their own way. All the politicians seem to interpret it very differently.

The Irish border seems to be the only thing everyone agrees on. This leads to the soft Irish border agreement meaning we will probably avoid "no deal" and hopefully will agree customs union agreements of some type for the whole of the UK.

Ironically it seems that Arlene Foster's (hard Brexiteer) stand on treating Northern Ireland the same as the rest of the UK has meant that a soft Brexit is more likely.
Well hopefully, but who knows.
