It is not given to me to start a threads on politics, I don't believe I have ever contributed to one either.
However I cannot let pass the comment from a conservative councillor currently skiing in the USA who wants the homeless and rough sleepers cleared from the streets of
Windsor before the wedding in May.
God forbid that visitors here to see an obscene and ostentatious picture of wealth and privelage should be confronted by the "have nots" of our society.

They will have to do what the palace tells them to do

Jalima1108 Wed 10-Jan-18 17:11:54

St George's Chapel is not that large - I think it holds about 800. Surely they can fill it up with enough family, extended family, friends, charity workers so that there simply won't be any room for anyone remotely connected to politics.

They can, wonder if the PM will be invited

If they do it the night before the wedding they may find they have a huge job on their hands

durhamjen Thu 11-Jan-18 17:02:46

They could give them all tickets to the FA cup final and bus them there.

A petition to repeal the vagrancy act 1824.
It's ridiculous that we are still using this nearly 200 years later to criminalise rough sleepers.

gillybob Thu 11-Jan-18 18:21:05

Blimey does that mean neither Willy or Harry will be at the FA cup final? Do you think they'll have it on a big screen "in the next room" at their reception? Then the men (and some women of course) can pop in and out and catch bits of it. In fact if they turn the sound up loud enough they could still hear ......GOAL.....

Jalima1108 Thu 11-Jan-18 18:27:15

They could give them all tickets to the FA cup final and bus them there.
I think they should put up a marquee and invite them all to a 'reception'.
Although some may prefer to go to the footie (I didn't realise it was the same day, guess what will be on the telly in our house! - the FA cup final of course).

Not a good day to choose - didn't HM keep popping out of Charles and Camilla's wedding reception to watch a horse race?

I see UKIP has posted some foul racist remark about Markel.

UKIP has also threatened war if Brexit does not come about.

What charmers they are, and it really is time that the media and main political parties call them out for what they are.

whitewave Sun 14-Jan-18 08:42:20

Markle! iPad thinks it knows best

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 09:03:17

UKIP has suspended the female who posted the remark,

maryeliza54 Sun 14-Jan-18 09:08:39

The ‘female’ is actually the 25 year old ‘model’ that the current UKIP leader left his wife and two very young children for.

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 09:12:54

That has nothing to do with the racist comments. He isn't the first politician who has dumped a wife.

maryeliza54 Sun 14-Jan-18 09:23:19

He’s the UKIP leader, he’s refusing to comment about what she texted - I think it’s all part of the measure of the man.

maryeliza54 Sun 14-Jan-18 09:25:01

i think it’s very disingenuous just to describe her as a female without the context.

Iam64 Sun 14-Jan-18 09:34:54

I tend to agree maryeliza54, this odious young woman is the partner of the Ukip leader. There is no way on earth she can claim (as she has) that her remarks were taken out of context. No way on earth he can claim he was unaware he's in a relationship with a racist bigot.

mostlyharmless Sun 14-Jan-18 09:48:40

Yet another UKIP leader bites the dust?
I wonder who the next leader will be? Someone who has been hogging the headlines this week perhaps?

whitewave Sun 14-Jan-18 09:51:41

The fraudster, liar and racist is certainly trying to grab back the headlines!

Anniebach Sun 14-Jan-18 09:53:46

I described her as female because I only heard the news headlines , the rest came in the news , I had then posted.

mcem Sun 14-Jan-18 10:13:14

Finding it difficult to visualise any context where these remarks might be acceptable.
How can anyone put a positive spin on 'taint' ??

whitewave Sun 14-Jan-18 10:34:44

Every time they open their mouths they show themselves for what they are.

I can remember UKIP supporters being so vociferous on here during the run up to the election. They tried to hide what they really think behind lies, but dig dip enough and you always find rot.

whitewave Sun 14-Jan-18 10:35:10

Referendum not election!

maryeliza54 Sun 14-Jan-18 10:47:51

No news headline I heard mentioned her without saying who her partner was - that was the story. That a UKIP member texted racist comments is not per se unexpected behaviour and so not worthy of a news headline. In fact a news headline would be ‘UKIP leader condemns his girlfriend’s texts’ or how about ‘Farage condemns racist texts’.

Jalima1108 Sun 14-Jan-18 10:52:28

UKIP has also threatened war if Brexit does not come about.
confused Do they mean Civil War?
