What did we fight two world wars for?

JaneD3 Tue 06-Feb-18 15:45:05

I don’t think the commodity traders will have him back - difficult to be effective when a drinker I hear.

whitewave Tue 06-Feb-18 15:55:48

mary grin love it

Well, I've re-read tge thread, Sillyoldfool and I can't find anyone being antipathetic to the country they live in (which 'country' are you referring to, BTW?)

What I can see is a great deal of well deserved antipathy to two fascist politicians. As I recall from history (and I suspect that very few Gnetters were adult at the time of WW2, so not really speaking from 1st hand experience) both wars were fought initially to halt the territorial ambitions of one country and WW2 was also a fight against fascism...

Odd that some people approve the very undemocratic system that our parents fought to overthrow...

varian.
I think that the word 'pointless' could be one of the milder words applied to any party by any other party voter.

I've never read such tosh whitewave. In fact I feel so in sensed that I feel like just deleting anything from GN in future. The last thing I would ever call JRM is a thug.

100s have complained to Facebook- but were told it did not break FB guidelines (whereas a mother BF a baby is taken off in seconds sad )

If you're not in the UK then it's none of your business. If ordinarily you are a resident, phone or email them yourself.

jura2 Tue 06-Feb-18 16:51:33

GabriellaG - do you support such violence and hatred ?

Who do you think you are, to tell me if it si 'my business' or not- how dare you. I am British and my British family and grandchildren live in the UK and we come back to UK very often, where we still are part resident. Way out of order sad

Sheilasue Tue 06-Feb-18 16:52:05

Doing the usual winding gullible people up. Idiot.

GabriellaG Tue 06-Feb-18 16:53:56

With respect, I think you have the numbers mixed up.
It was not £350m per week. Part of it was a rebate from the EU.
We give them £X pa and they give some of it back. I can't be definite as to the figures but £350m is incorrect.

jura2 Tue 06-Feb-18 16:57:02

Sillyoldfool - I can't see any antipathy for the Country- on the contrary- it is because people love what Great Britain has stood for, and been world famous for since WW2- openess, tolerance, that many of us feel desperately sad and angry that this is changing and threatened. If anyone supports the threats of that awful BF man- then perhaps you are in the wrong place.

lemongrove Tue 06-Feb-18 17:01:43

radicalnan great post, and you said it so I don’t have to.?

Morgana Tue 06-Feb-18 17:02:25

Can there be any doubt about the racism of parties such as UKIP and B.F.?
Can there be any doubt about Nigel being racist and hypocritical?
And I do take issue with the poster who seems to think that anyone can do well for themselves if they work hard enough. Having worked in a primary school for twenty years I can tell you that some kids just seem to have all the disadvantages stacked against them from the start. Life is not a level playing field.

I said thst if you do NOT live here then it's none if your business but if you DO, then ring the police yourself. I note that, although not in the UK yourself, you do have relatives here, so why not ask THEM to contact police on your behalf instead of asking GNs to do so? As you clearly have internet connection, why don't you email UK police with your concerns? That seems the most sensible avenue to take.

whitewave Tue 06-Feb-18 17:07:15

No need it is sorted re ringing the police.

whitewave Tue 06-Feb-18 17:07:48

Blimey lemon are you sure?

lemongrove Tue 06-Feb-18 17:09:01

To call Rees Mogg a thug and fascist is simply laughable.

whitewave Tue 06-Feb-18 17:09:13

Actually I suppose you are as I remember Marr got your full support until she was banned for racial remarks.

lemongrove Tue 06-Feb-18 17:11:58

Blimey whitewave you do love your name calling, let’s see, Maybot, swivel eyed loons, Mogg the thug.....grin and many many more.

Sillyoldfool Tue 06-Feb-18 17:13:30

Totally agree with you Lemon.

lemongrove Tue 06-Feb-18 17:13:59

She got my support to say what she thought on GN without being hounded ww nothing more.

jura2 Tue 06-Feb-18 17:25:27

Gabriella, tell that to Lawson- Brexit is not any of his business as he lives in a Château in France- and others who have supported Brexit with millions of £ have bought EU membership in Malta and other places.

There are 100s of 100s of Brits who live abraod, and it is very much their business as well as yours- most pay their taxes in UK too, via their pensions.

jura2 Tue 06-Feb-18 17:29:21

radicalnan- re:

'We are diminishing the pool of willing politicians by the constant demolishing of them as people, those will real ability and strength can earn more in different careers.'

I totally agree- and have said so- look at the thread about Corbyn and his mucous stained moustache. Surely, those standards should apply to both left and righ, and anywhere in between- re their looks or dress sense (or lack of) - and even worse, their disability. But we need to be able to comment, judge or criticise their actions and deeds, surely.

whitewave Tue 06-Feb-18 18:37:01

lemon they aren’t my names, they are in common use all over the media, including MSM.
