He doesn't have looks or power. Just imagining him being a smooth talker and out on the pull makes me cringe. You have to blame Jo Marney too for taking up with a married man. She has no scruples. I have yet to meet a woman who stays with a man only because he is a terrific lover, so I am ruling that one out too. (I didn't rule it in, if I am honest. <shudder> Can't see it being the case. )

After leaving the Army he joined the Territorial Army, and was commissioned in 1992 into the Wessex Regiment.[7] Two years later Bolton was promoted to captain.
Since leaving the regular army in 1990, he has undertaken security and policing roles. For eight years he was a police officer in the Thames Valley Police, during which time he received an award for outstanding bravery.[9] He worked with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, during which he was seconded to hostile environments including Afghanistan.

He was awarded the OBE in the 2013 New Year Honours "for services to international security and stabilisation" as a Stabilisation Team Leader, Provincial Reconstruction Team, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
