Exactly Primrose Corbyn fans do try and airbrush all the IRA stuff out, but it won’t be going anywhere!
Can’t believe Macca is only 60, I would have said 70 easily.?Politics must age people, as JC looks about 74.

The Labour Party
(1001 Posts)Simple title so should be easy to update everyone with any bits of knowledge we gain.
The Labour ‘Leaders’ are like China, all led by old men.
Last two posts could have come straight from the gutter press. No facts just very nasty personal attacks. More propaganda from the right.
Corbyn had no ‘remit’ for talking to the IRA in search of ‘peace’ he was talking to them because he wanted to.
Comrade Wolfie would talk to anyone who was challenging the British government, as would Macca and Abbott then.......now they are all about ‘softness and caring’ but leopards do not change their spots.
Why did he need a "remit". Did he need the "Head Prefect" of the right to allow him to talk to people and try and understand what could be done. These posts get more and more ridiculous. What world would that be then? Obviously it would be one where only the right-wing have a say but perhaps that's what you expect Lemongrove.
Do all your posts contain ‘facts’ GGM2 ? The answer is no they don’t, and nobody on GN does posts that all have facts in them, often they are opinions.
However in this case you are wrong, because Corbyn supporters do try and airbrush out his IRA connections.
It’s understandable, they feel uncomfortable with his past, even uneasy about it.
A lot of people on this thread seem to be petrified of this old man Corbyn.
Strangely, the more Corbyn is attacked in the media the more popular he becomes. “Labour is on course for a major election triumph in London that will see it seize Tory strongholds and win a greater share of the vote than any party for 50 years, a new poll has indicated.” from the Independent.
I await the the local elections in May with interest.
Keep on attacking him!!!
I try - I may not always succeed but I try - to remember this Lemongrove and show the facts that support any opinion.
“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”
Perhaps you could show facts that support the propaganda in your last post. If you can show it I will take it into account. So far it is just more mud being flung.
Propoganda: information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view.
Seems that Corbyn and pals are now trying to force out Labour MP Debbie Abrahams!
She is a woman and Jewish and a very independent person, not a Corbyn acolyte.
Mostlyharmless......this is London you are speaking of, Labour has always done fantastically well there, or did you not realise that?
Allegations have been made against Debbie Abrahams about several complaints of bullying so the LP team have no alternative but to investigate them.
DA has said she will consider legal action as is her right. She is also making a formal complaint which will be investigated.
There is a lot of gossip going round but I am sure that the facts will be brought out.
Gransnet - your online version of the Daily Mail where some people are concerned!
Yes lemongrove I am very well aware of that. But the Tories are expecting to lose up to half of their seats in London plus major losses in other metropolitan areas such as Birmingham. One of the reasons seem to be that voters are rejecting the Tory Austerity policies.
But please keep attacking Labour as it seems to increase their vote.
The Tories only have 9 seats in London, I believe. If they lose one, it's a 'more than 10% loss'. "Londoners vote Labour" is really not news to anyone in London. To be honest, a Tory seat anywhere in London is a bit more of a surprise.
Why did he need a "remit".
Well, that's one way of looking at it. But without a remit, you're just talking to your mates. He was adding legitimacy to violence and the IRA exploited that. Has anyone found anything that shows Corbyn condemned the violence on both sides while people were being killed during the troubles? Perhaps the people saying he was trying to bring about peace could show facts that support their propaganda? These demands only ever seem to work one way.
So DA is Jewish is she?
Regarding Debbie Abrahams, have the people in the Leaders Office who she has said were bullying her been suspended? It would be pretty weird if they're not.
Really Primrose? There are only nine Tory council seats in London? I think you’re confused.
604 Tory seats
1046 Labour seats.
As of February 2018 (I think the Tories might have lost more last week).
You are doing the Tories down even before the anticipated rout in May!
But please keep on attacking Corbyn and Labour.
I was talking about Tory run councils mostly. Happy to discuss individual seats, councillors or wards if that's what you're interested in, but at a local council level, I think that might be a bit 'London centric' for this forum.
I've made the assumption people mean Tory-run councils, like Wandsworth or Richmond when they talk about London local elections - not Belsize ward or a specific local councillor.
Let me know if I'm wrong and the local council discussion is really at ward or councillor level.
There are, as I’m sure you know, council elections all over the country in May.
But major losses in London would be devastating for the Tories and would put Theresa May’s Government, with it’s tenuous hold on power, under a great deal of pressure.

Tories expected to lose control of five of their nine councils in London in May elections.
Debbie Abrahams stood down was the statement from the party. She did not stand down she was removed,
She was not told what allegations had been made against her . She said in a statement she has been a victim to aggressive, intimidating and unprofessional treatment by certain individuals in the leaders office over the last ten months. My treatment in the last week has shown a bullying culture of the worse kind. As such I am making a formal complaint to both the Labour Party and the parliamentary authorities.
Why are the people in Corbyn's office not suspended? It's a pretty toxic environment there, according to Corbynistas. In my experience, those high pressured environments where there's lots of infighting (Matt Zarb Cousins account, not mine) can be an environment where bullying is prevalent.
Why isn't everyone treated in the same way if there's an accusation of bullying? I have no problem with the process, I do have a problem with it not being followed for everyone.
"Shame they can't advocate not being a nasty person as an alternative ..."
I doubt that anyone on here can influence this Primrose. Nor do I think everyone would even agree on what so called "nastiness" is. I am happy to advocate that we stop "nastiness" within these posts though, starting by stopping the mud slinging.
Regarding Debbie Abrahams, have the people in the Leaders Office who she has said were bullying her been suspended?
Why would any of us know Primrose - you said you didn't and are now saying you know they haven't been suspended. Are you a lawyer in this case? I would think that you are as able as anyone else to find out what is being reported. If you do why not report back the facts for all of us. Many of those posting are, as they keep telling you, neither "Corbyn supporters" or whatever distasteful name is in vogue at the moment nor are they members of the LP, so why would they know any more than you do. They gather their information by research and do it because they are interested in facts. I doubt that many of them could even be suspected of being Corbyn or LP supporters by the "only right is right" group on her, if these extreme right wingers where not as all out in a desperate attempt to muddy the waters with their attacks. If they were more measured in their posts those trying to provide a balanced reply would not seem to "supportive" and we could have a genuine discussion.
Is Corbyn suporters a distasteful name , I would think if one supporter Corbyn it would be a name to be proud of
Surely if the alleged bullies in the leaders office had been suspended it would have been announced as Debbie Abrahams was announced yesterday. But we can expect an announcement soon, she has made an official complaint and the leaders office will have to suspend those she has complained about just as the leaders office did to her. But will they suspend themselves , bit of a dilemma for them.
You do like to completely misinterpreted what has been written Annie don't you? Now is this a form of bullying?
