Back to the subject of Corbyn and Momentum anyone?

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 18:59:03

You didn’t read my posts correctly lemon you have assumed something that suits your agenda.

Chewbacca Sun 25-Mar-18 18:59:07

Paucity? That's a big word for you, lemon.^^What was your degree in?

That's not a comment of political debate durham; that's just you be rude and ignorant. You should be ashamed of yourself.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 25-Mar-18 18:59:49

I rather think Ummuna has a higher opinion of himself than those around him do. No doubt we shall see.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 19:01:21

I think reporting what Frank Field's CLP said is fact.
I think reporting what May said last PMQs is fact. Strangely enough it wasn't picked up by MSM.
They can criticise Corbyn for something he said 6 years ago, but not what May said last Wednesday.
Do you think that's acceptable?
What do you think May meant when she said that anyone who wanted to tackle antisemitism had no place in the Labour Party?

I think she is saying that everyone in the Labour Party is antisemitic.
Not even you would dare go that far, would you, lemon?

GracesGranMK2 Sun 25-Mar-18 19:02:01

So Chewbacca, what did you say to those who said far, far worse than that on here and were deleted for their pains. Oh, no. You just kept very, very quiet didn't you.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 19:04:51

That's okay, chewbacca. If lemon can say I have paucity of thought, I can ask her questions about her background, surely.
I have a degree in education. I know what words mean. The one thing I don't have is paucity of thought. In fact I am often told I think too much.

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 19:05:22

OK how about this

“Labour is an anti-racist party, and utterly condemn anti-semistism, which is why as leader of the Labour Party I want to be clear that I will not tolerate any form of antisemitism that exists in and around our movement”

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 19:07:01

....and here comes GGM2, known for her pleasant and calming comments.hmm

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 19:08:40

Oh, yes, Corbyn talks the talk alright (about anti-semitism)
But doesn’t do much to root it out of his own Party.

Chewbacca Sun 25-Mar-18 19:09:27

It doesn't concern me in the slightest when I see someone "saying far far worse" about you GGMK2; you can handle it yourself. smile

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 19:10:15

Your comments are becoming very personal, lemon. Have you had a bad day?
I thought you wanted to get back to Corbyn and Momentum, although why Momentum, I don't know, as it isn't in the OP.

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 19:10:20

durhamjen you can ask anything you like, but you will get no answers from me on anything but the subject matter of the thread. On any thread.

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 19:11:43

Yes you are so right lemon have you read the post she put on where Mear was talking about his art?

Enlightening wasn’t it. Or perhaps you didn’t think so, but it would be good to hear your opinion. Perhaps then we could have a good discussion rather than throwing insults

trisher Sun 25-Mar-18 19:12:52

It interests me that some of you think it is Ok to remove a work of art because it is allegedly anti Semitic, can I ask how far you are prepared to take such censorship and what you would consider acceptable treatment of a work of art you disliked on some grounds. For example the Rokeby Venus is widely acknowledged to be a masterpiece, but a suffragette Mary Richardson slashed it because she didn't like the way men gawped at it. Was she justified? Or is it only particular sorts of censorship and vandalism you approve of?

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 19:12:53

Lemon, read the posts I actually put on. A committee made up of mainly Tory MPs found that the Labour Party was no more antisemitic than any other party. This was in 2017, five years after the mural was painted.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 25-Mar-18 19:12:59

It doesn't concern me in the slightest when I see someone "saying far far worse" about you GGMK2; you can handle it yourself

You really don't know people do you Chewbacca.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 19:15:14

This is the commons affairs committee.
Last year they decided that
"Despite significant press and public attention on the Labour Party, and a number of revelations regarding inappropriate social media content, there exists no reliable, empirical evidence to support the notion that there is a higher prevalence of antisemitic attitudes within the Labour Party than any other political party."

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 19:17:10

Now trending on twitter

predict the next Corbyn smear grin

Some wonderful senses of humour.

jura2 Sun 25-Mar-18 19:17:33

naïveté - oh my sad smile

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 19:20:11

I have had a lovely day thank you, but the support on here
For the anti-semitic mural from the far left makes me realise that there really is a problem within the LP in this regard.Corbyn will have his work cut out to get rid of it all.
In spite of denials, the LP keeps throwing up these attitudes and I find all forms of racism abhorrent.
I think a few posters are angry that the subject has even come up on GN and are being childish now, but it’s too bad in my view, they will have to deal with it.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 25-Mar-18 19:21:23

Well put trisher. This sort of thing happens when there is a move to any extreme. It's the far right who are moving this sort of thing at the moment but we should not approve whoever wants censorship like this. Without doubt it has always been the case that those who make their hurrahs for such suppression find it turn round and bites them in the end.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 19:22:28

A degree in it as well, jura. Aren't I clever.

At least I can read the opinions of experts and don't just spout right wing hate.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 19:25:06

"If you want to tackle antisemitism there is no place for you in the Labour Party."

Do you think it was acceptable for May to say that about every member of the Labour Party, Lemon?

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 19:25:42

Perhaps Mear could do another mural, entitled ‘ The Left At Bay’ ( which is what the comments today on here remind me of.)
I get it, whitewave and others, but I can’t agree with you in any way.
