A thread for all Corbyn lovers & haters

GracesGranMK2 Mon 26-Mar-18 13:35:40

Watch the Daily Politics

And see extremely professional propaganda.

Anniebach Mon 26-Mar-18 13:40:03

There is anti semitism in the Labour Party, Corbyn said so yesterday. Perhaps after the May elections he will say - with hindsight I was wrong.

lemongrove Mon 26-Mar-18 13:40:04

You forgot to say IMHO GG
Of course Corbyn fans will try and do a whitewash on him, including the woman on tv on the DP.She seemed very out of touch anyway.
The BBC is as even handed as it is possible to get.

GracesGranMK2 Mon 26-Mar-18 13:43:58

My opinion is never humble lemongrove. I don't do grovelling. The day you recognise you offer opinions as fact I might, just might, take notice of some of the comments you make and treat them with some sort of respect. As it is I will continue to see them in the way that they deserve.

lemongrove Mon 26-Mar-18 13:44:08

Some posters agree with what is said on the Daily Politics only when it suits them and their own agenda.
I think they do a great job and put all political parties under scrutiny.

lemongrove Mon 26-Mar-18 13:46:54

So heads in the sand it is then for you GG grin
Your comments are never humble? In that case put IMAO.

Primrose65 Mon 26-Mar-18 13:47:17

The BBC is rapidly becoming the voice of the right-wing, Israeli government supporting, voice of the Board of Deputies of British Jews.

Oh dear.

lemongrove Mon 26-Mar-18 13:48:56

grin
I know! Sounds a bit antisemitic really.

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 13:49:59

Jewish Voice

Do you think the Daily Mail and the Sun genuinely care about Jews and want to stop anti-semtism, or do you think they are playing the race card in order to smear Corbyn?”

97% say it is a smear.

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 13:54:40

Interesting but not remotely surprising

Perhaps we'll see the evidence this evening.
Has any other political group ever organised an 'anti-antisemitism' rally?

Anniebach Mon 26-Mar-18 14:02:38

It exists in the Labour Party, Corbyn said it does

Primrose65 Mon 26-Mar-18 14:05:33

Or is it just Jeremy who is the 'victim' here by supporting an anti-semitic mural, because he's unable to see antisemitism when it's right in front of him.

That's the message I'm getting.

GracesGranMK2 Mon 26-Mar-18 14:05:54

And which group are you suggesting is rallying against anti-Semitism Primrose?

mostlyharmless Mon 26-Mar-18 14:17:16

One must admire the incredible skills the media have in manipulating the population. They’ve managed to convince many that the most passionate anti-racist campaigner of the last forty years, Jeremy Corbyn, is actually pro-racist and anti-Semitic.
From The Jewish Voice this morning.

mostlyharmless Mon 26-Mar-18 14:20:19

Don't be so naive to believe that if another Socialist led the Labour Party that the smears would be different to the smears against Corbyn.

The media have an agenda and will smear to the extreme anyone who stand up against that Right-Wing and Neo-Liberal agenda.

Jewish Voice

Primrose65 Mon 26-Mar-18 14:46:01

Lots of quotes here from the Jewish Voice twitter feed. Anyone know who they are? I'm assuming you know whose words you're choosing to share here to endorse your own views.

Anniebach Mon 26-Mar-18 15:09:34

What smears? He saw a painting, supported it not being remove and remind the painter a Jew had destroyed a painting/photograph of Lenin

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 15:13:39

Corbyn support

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 15:16:39

When anyone can show me that a greater level of support is given to fighting anti-semitism and racism by the Tory leader as the Labour Party and Corbyn I will begin to take these racist apologists seriously

Jenb60 Mon 26-Mar-18 15:38:24

Hi everyone have been following this thread alongside lots of stuff on Twitter and think this article by Jonathon Freedland from 2016 helps to clarify what has been happening. amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/mar/18/labour-antisemitism-jews-jeremy-corbyn?__twitter_impression=true
There is also a YouTube of JC’s reaction to the article

Jenb60 Mon 26-Mar-18 15:40:34

And here is JC’s response to the article calling it nasty

Welcome Jenb60.

Is this the first time you have posted on GN? I hope your stay is long and pleasurable.

Just to say that both of those links you have posted have been discussed previously, but of course it is good to have another voice on the issue.

durhamjen Mon 26-Mar-18 16:04:56

Corbyn did not support it not being removed. He told the artist he was in good company.
Perhaps you ought to get that right from the start.

The names of the MPs on the committee who said that there was no more antisemitism in the labour party than any other party.
Who has their heads in the sand?

whitewave Mon 26-Mar-18 16:10:35

The Jewish Labour members have just issued a statement deploring the smearing of Corbyn.

You can read it on JVL - Jewish voices for Labour.

Well done them
