The Lindo Wing have put up no parking signs 9th to 30th April. Barriers have been set up.

I do hope it's an uncomplicated and quick birth. Not days of news showing the doors into the wing, and interviews with excited royalists .

As that is really neither news nor politics perhaps some posters are trying to inject one or the other into the thread.
MaizieD I think this would come under the heading of News - which is why I thought, when we had a thread about separating News and Politics a while ago, this type of item could come under News and not Politics.

Well, I think a new baby is wonderful whoever they are. If the RF were to be replaced they would certainly not be found in a council house! They would be like all other redundant royals and live in some style, wherever, their own personal wealth would see to that! I personally don't want to see that happen; someone has to be head of state, and one of them will do just fine! I can't honestly think of any head of state in the world I'd rather have than H.M, who imo has served this country well for most of her adult life, as her father did before her, and her son will after her. Not sure beyond that!!!

gillybob Tue 10-Apr-18 11:23:30

Not even sure about “the son” either niggly . To be fair the royals do nothing to enhance my life in any way. They are just very rich people living in what might as well be another world from me. I don’t swoon over their photos and wouldn’t go out of my way to see any of them.

I chuckled when I read your post Anniebach as I was thinking exactly the same thing; I wonder how long before Brexit is mentioned. Good luck to Kate and William and I hope she has a good birth. She certainly looked amazing when she left for home after having Charlotte.

Royals and their babies!! .... bring on the republic!!

Sheilasue Tue 10-Apr-18 12:33:37

I wonder if this will be there last baby or will they make it an even four.

Saggi Tue 10-Apr-18 12:36:31

Sealing of a car park for a royal birth....’just in case’....!!! Un...bloody....believable !! My 2nd was born on the day he was due and I took myself to hospital on a bus..got there at 1pm...gave birth at 3.30 ...and signed myself out of hospital at 6.30 , as the nurses refused to give bottle fed babies warm milk.... they were trying to brow-beat us into breast feeding!!!

Anniebach Tue 10-Apr-18 12:38:17

Oh not Brexit newnanny not Brexit , rather those doors than Brexit ?

GreenGran78 Tue 10-Apr-18 12:45:53

Paddyann Before you 'knock' the Royal family consider President Trump, and be careful what you wish for! The Queen has more sense and world knowledge in her little finger than he has in his whole body.

Anniebach Tue 10-Apr-18 12:50:11

Queenie or Trump, that is a difficult decision , not

gerry86 Tue 10-Apr-18 13:46:34

I wish them well but it's all so over the top

glammanana Tue 10-Apr-18 14:02:50

Thank you so much oldwoman70 for your kind wishes,we are very excited about the imminent arrival of our new baby we do not know if a pink or blue one,my DS1 and his wife also expect their 1st in May so we have a busy couple of months for sure.
Princess Charlotte was born on my OHs birthday and she is my namesake so wondering what name will be chosen for this Royal baby, thats a topic for another post don't you think anniebach

Anniebach Tue 10-Apr-18 14:06:07

Most definitely glammanana ?

grannyactivist Tue 10-Apr-18 14:10:28

Like glamma and gillybob I too am in an expectant phase - my eighth grandchild (a boy) is due to put in an appearance on the 27th of this month. Also, a couple of days ago my eldest son announced that his first baby is due in November (six years married by then). I'm very thrilled, but as my daughter wants me at the birth I can hardly dare to leave the house at the moment - she's more than an hour's drive away.

kittylester Tue 10-Apr-18 15:01:18

My lovely SiL's brother became a dad this morning - does that count?

knspol Tue 10-Apr-18 15:02:20

Read about the parking restrictions and my thought was what the heck do other people do who are about to give birth, where do they park??? Why such restrictions for one person just because she married 'well'.

tanith Tue 10-Apr-18 15:04:55

No to read or comment if you have no interest.
Congratulations to all the expectant Grandmas I know how exciting that is.
Mission accomplished but sadly no media there to record our arrival. St.Mary's had no carpark merely a dozen or so metered spaces on the road that are suspended. I did grab a selfie in front of the doors but I quickly moved in case MI5 were watching and think I was casing the joint ?

tanith Tue 10-Apr-18 15:07:28

There are no car parks!

nigglynellie Tue 10-Apr-18 15:57:58

I agree sealing off the car park for maybe three weeks is way over the top, and I think it's this sort of thing that gives the RF a negative image. It's a pity they can't realise this. I'm certainly not a royal fawner, but I've no quarrel with them either, except over car parks!!!!!

tanith Tue 10-Apr-18 16:05:28

nigglynellie if you read my 2 posts previous to yours you’ll see that THERE ARE NO CARPARKS at the relevant hospital no car park has been closed.

Anniebach Tue 10-Apr-18 16:41:20

Tanith, you managed to stay right side up ? ?

nigglynellie Tue 10-Apr-18 16:41:37

No need to shout its not that important!, I didn't see your posts, so my mistake for not being more observant!

tanith Tue 10-Apr-18 16:50:35

Sorry nigglynellie I read several other posts complaining about the ‘carpark’ and you bore the brunt of it apologies for shouting flowers

tanith Tue 10-Apr-18 16:52:02

Anniebach I didn’t risk the steps, stayed firmly on the pavement ?

nigglynellie Tue 10-Apr-18 17:06:36

That's ok tanith, I can see it was annoying, and I should read things properly not just snippets and get the wrong end of the stick!!!smile
