A continuation of Momentum/Intertia/Magnetism/Elasticity but with a less scientific bias. grin

A thread about Corbyn. For lovers and haters.

trisher Fri 20-Apr-18 11:42:24

Am I?

Anniebach Fri 20-Apr-18 12:03:41

Are you not?

yggdrasil Fri 20-Apr-18 14:01:29

This thread is getting toxic again. I wish there was a way to drop a thread, but I presume having made this post I will be faced with it on "I'm on" for at least a month angry

mostlyharmless Fri 20-Apr-18 14:15:00

Quite yggdrasil.

Anniebach Fri 20-Apr-18 14:15:22

You have helped to keep it going ?

lemongrove Fri 20-Apr-18 15:16:59

This thread isn’t ‘toxic’ in the least ygg but it may contain comments that you don’t agree with. That’s fine!

lemongrove Fri 20-Apr-18 15:17:49

There haven’t been any toxic threads for a little while thank Heavens.

mostlyharmless Fri 20-Apr-18 15:33:13

Really?

lemongrove Fri 20-Apr-18 15:34:41

Yes.

Anniebach Fri 20-Apr-18 15:40:25

Corbyn on tv today speaking of Arsene Wenger , he said Wenger has had so much abuse these last few months !

POGS Fri 20-Apr-18 17:54:21

Toxic must be viewed in different forms I guess.

Any comment on the debate?

Day6 Fri 20-Apr-18 19:24:41

This, from the link you posted Annie. I found myself nodding in agreement. It confirmed my thinking - that many of those who support Corbyn will not see his faults, and ill not question what is happening to the Labour Party - ever.

"Back in the barmy spring of 2015, when Corbynistas first found themselves with voracious appetites for exclusively pro-Corbs narratives, an army of bloggers suddenly found themselves with an instant audience of thousands by simply penning articles in favour of the Labour leadership’s position on… well, anything really.

If Corbyn wanted to put a litter of puppies in the microwave, a phalanx of would-be journalists would be on hand to defend it as a socialist experiment

If the public didn’t buy it, they were either under the spell of a biased media or, as Sivier pointed out in his comment section in reference to Labour’s poor showing in the local elections in May 2017, simply “ignorant British people”. "

Hmmm. hmm

Anniebach Fri 20-Apr-18 19:32:28

Day6, I remember a post giving a link to vox pox, written as I now know by - Mike Sivier the Holocaust denier, it claimed Corbyn was responsible for the Good Friday agreement , how involved he was.

I checked with someome who was involved and he roared with laughter

Day6 Fri 20-Apr-18 19:44:53

Why am I not surprised Annie? grin

Anniebach Fri 20-Apr-18 19:52:36

?, I will stick with our daily newspapers

Oldwoman70 Fri 20-Apr-18 20:31:24

But Annie doesn't that mean you are a sheep unable to think for yourself - especially if you read the DM!

Anniebach Fri 20-Apr-18 21:11:21

Well Oldwoman, I do live in Wales ?

POGS Sun 22-Apr-18 19:41:06

Annei B

Can I ask , who would you like to see take over from Carwyn Jones?

Anniebach Sun 22-Apr-18 20:56:29

POGS, I haven't got over the shock. sad fear it will go further left. No love lost between Carwyn and Corbyn .

Already talk of Mark Drayford. If I could choose then Eluned Morgan , doubt she would win though .

Jalima1108 Sun 22-Apr-18 21:15:51

Does Carwyn deserve his own thread?

Well, I was going to say that that was a surprise, but perhaps it was not as he must have been pondering this decision for a while.

I think you are right Anniebach - is there anyone strong enough to take over or will they be taken over by English Labour?

Anniebach Sun 22-Apr-18 21:28:56

I fear Corbyn's talons will reach us . Yes Carwyn deserves a thread but very few would be interested . Could be Plaid for me , sob

I think he was driven out, he has been under much strain since last Autumn .

Haven't heard if Huw Irranca-Davies will stand. He was an MP but left parliament after 14 years, shortly after Corbyn became leader , he then stood for election in the Welsh Assembly

Iam64 Sun 22-Apr-18 22:04:44

I don know anything about events since the apparent suicide and of course don’t prejudge the investigation. I was saddened but not surprised to hear Carwyn Js resignation speech, very moving.

Anniebach Sun 22-Apr-18 22:17:51

He has been first minister for nine years , we need him but I can understand why he has chosen to stand down , the suicide of a close friend is difficult to come to terms , with the family naturally want to believe the women lied , all so sad.

POGS Mon 23-Apr-18 00:18:40

Annie B

I think Mark Drakeford looks like a bit of a shoo in .

Do you think there will be a huge push now for One Member One Vote rather than the Electoral College?

Anniebach Mon 23-Apr-18 04:58:38

I think so POGS, Julie Morgan fought her campaign on one member one vote, she did have the most votes but Carolyn Harris won. Not sure if Julie would have had more votes if she wasn't Rhodri Morgan's widow. Seems Welsh Labour is divided now .
