I'm not surprised, the MSM rarely shows whats really happening on our streets ..especially Scottish streets .Yesterday there was a March for Independence ..ALL UNDER ONE BANNER .Through Glasgow streets .estimates range from 60,000 to the police estimate of 91,000,Of course IF you only watch TV news or read the mainstream news you wont have seen it .So when Ruth says theres no interest in Indy anymore keep THIS in mind .This march was peaceful ..no trouble at all according to the police..the unionists who tried to cause trouble ..all 12 of them with their union flags and nazi salutes were ignored by the marchers and surrounded by police. There are 4 more marches scheduled throughout Scotland in the next few weeks .I dare say you wont hear anything about them either .

Granny23 I am surprised you say that all Scottish papers (except the "National" ) are unionist. I seem to remember that in 2014 The Herald was quite pro-SNP. Has it changed or have I misremembered ?(always possible these days)

I can’t honestly say I’m familiar with any of the Scottish newspapers Granny23 and I’m not on FB.

I hate these big mouths who claim to speak for everyone so def won’t be opening the link. As you know Granny23 I love Scotland but don’t like fierce patriotism which I find can become quite nasty sometimes .

Varian The Herald used to be my Newspaper of choice, especially after the Scotsman, which was a Liberal paper became a Labour Mouthpiece. The Herald became a Unionist paper years ago but oddly, the Sunday Herald was pro Independence, but has kinda lost that bias since the referendum.

Think the Herald is just reflecting the views of its readers. People are just sick of SNP.

Do not watch if of a sensitive disposition.
well, I haven't opened it and I can assure you, if it is as nasty as intimated, he is not representative of anyone I know.

From the BBC:
The Herald's six-month sales figure was 32,141 - unlike The Scotsman it does not give away multiple copies which boost the headline circulation figure. This compares to around 34,300 in the previous six months and 37,000 in the equivalent period a year earlier. The Sunday Herald dropped from 29,000 to 25,000. It sold an average of 32,200 in the second half of 2014.Unlike the other papers though, it has recorded lower figures before. In late 2013, the Sunday Herald's circulation fell to below 24,000 but it received a boost after it became the only mainstream newspaper to back Scottish independence.

Do you enjoy writing in bold Granny23 or is it just more SNP shouting?
There's a colossal amount of facts and figures showing what a poor job SNP are making of running Scotland and how increasingly unpopular they are. There's no need to post links as its easy enough to find this info anywhere.
Your loyalty is admirable though.

My post was for Varian and was meant to be in italics blush.

Jane 10 I do not post facts and figures for your benefit rather for others with an open mind. It is usual to back up opinions with information from other sources. otherwise it IS just your opinion. Whilst it is undoubtedly true that there are SOME people who are fed up with the SNP, you cannot claim that it is all people, when the SNP still attract the largest share of votes in Scotland.

Thanks Granny23. I was honestly quite surprised to find that, in spite of the dreadful brexit vote, which should have helped the SNP, they seemed to be more unpopular.
