One of the Conservatives backers wants Michael Gove to take over from Theresa May.

Does anyone think that is a good idea?

In my opinion he lost any credibility when as minister for education he said that he wanted every child to be above average.

Could you tell that to Annie please MawBroon the times she has called me and many other posters names (Corbynista, communist etc) are so numerous. It would be nice if just occasionally she could enter into a proper debate and set out the values and policies she really believes in. Queensbury rules only work if both sides agree to them. And Annie doesn't.

Ilovecheese, this conservative backer is demanding that Gove becomes Tory leader or he will withdraw his donations reports suggest. Well, I suppose/with a membership of only seventy thousand (according to there own Bow Group) our party has to accept whoever we have on board to do the job ( scraping the bottom of the barrel as you might say)

However, he is our leading political backstabber so should fit well into our shambles of a "torn apart party". That stated, I believe that Jacob Rees Mogg would make a much better leader than loser May as he would draw the vote of the younger generation like no one before with his double breasted suit and eighteenth century thinking.

However, in Gove being given the leadership we would not lose the donor as we would have demonstrated how we can bow and scrape to anyone who is willing to give us money. Perhaps we would even gain a few more Russians with their sanctions busting money as well that way.

However i still feel that JRM should be our next truly dynamic leader. So, Roll on Jacob Rees Mogg

Ther will be people who merely consider them as descriptive and may even feel proud of the term.

Those are not ‘names’ trisher but rather describe your own (and others) politics.Are you not supportive of Corbyn?
Others on past threads do appear to have Communist leanings, I doubt they would think it an insult though, more their own views which they are not ashamed of.
This constant ‘delving’ into another poster to press them into revealing values and policies is intrusive, and when a few poster are doing it then it becomes a form of bullying.

Surely this Conservative Government can’t be bought with a donation of £50,000!

Crispin Odey (the Tory donor) lives across the fields from me and applied for planning permission to build a fancy stone temple chicken coop for £150,000 a few years ago in the grounds of his Georgian Manor House, so £50,000 is literally chicken feed to him!
