Did it take place?

First email I received regarding this event tickets £35. Last mail received tickets £10 and free travel to London.

There were 15,000 tickets for sale , according to the Guardian 2,500 were sold. It was to follow the success of Glastonbury last year .

UNITE offered 1,000 free tickets and free travel.

Pop stars due to appear -The Magic Numbers, Hookworms and Rae Morris

Anniebach, How did they get in, by a democratic vote of the membership, and "they" brought with then 400,000 new, members.

Tories now have a total membership of 70,000 according to their own Bow Group.

I believe the Labour party are now the largest political party in Europe in terms of membership and even that small number cannot agree on anything.

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 12:11:04

That should be the Tories small number cannot agree on anything above, not Labour.

Of course we are not the laughing stock of Europe. What a ridiculous idea.

We have had holidays in Europe since the referendum, and I have spoken to quite a number of people in Italy, Greece and Portugal who were very envious of us for having the opportunity to get out of the EU.

A laughing stock? Absolutely not.

We are doing fine. We have a strong economy with interest rates at their lowest levels for decades.

Yes it's all a bit messy at the moment, but once we are out, it will be a cause to celebrate our freedom from the shackles of the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.

Welsh Labour Party members are fighting to change the voting system, we still have the electoral college system.

Two women stood for deputy leader this year, the winner had less votes than the Loser. The winner was supported by UNITE although union members claim they were not consulted.

Members want OMOV, UNITE has said they will fight this , so if the unions win this fight they will choose the new party leader who will also be The First Minister for Wales. UNITE are supporting a far left candidate , a Corbyn devotee as was the winner of deputy leader.

"The age Corbyn is targeting are too young to remember what happened in 1983 to 1997, he needs the votes of the young , older party members are leaving the party. Thus he promises rainbows for the young ."

The average age of a Labour Party member is just over 51 years old.

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 13:11:52

JenniferEccles, you state Britain leaving Europe it is a "bit messy at the moment. What an understatement, just look, it is total and absolute chaos with no sign of a solution even on the horizon.

JenniferEccles, you state we have a strong economy, just look, we now have the slowest growing economy of any of the developed nations which has come about since all the Brexit confusion began.

All the above is due to splits in an outdated Tory party, and that same party now does not have a clue to how to get Britain out of Europe. That is of course what makes this country the laughing stock in the eyes of the world.

Delusional tories once again of on the lose.

Anniebach Mon 18-Jun-18 13:15:45

And the average age of Tory party members is 57, little difference then.

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 13:30:18

Not according to the Tories own influential Bow Group, the average age of a party member is 72. confused

Of course many other countries will envy us for breaking away from the EU, all is not tickety boo in many countries in Europe and Brexit may be the the least of the EU problems.
The Labour Live concert was an abject failure and I guess will not be tried again!
Cynically targeting the young vote didn’t work for Corbyn
there.

Labour have denied kicking out protesters from their music festival Labour Live for their anti-Brexit banner.
A group of young festival goers who unfurled a large banner bearing the slogan "Stop Backing Brexit!" during Jeremy Corbyn's speech.

They faced the stage as the Labour Leader spoke to the crowds of Labour supporters - many of whom were sporting "b******s to Brexit" stickers.

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 14:16:11

I read that they were ‘escorted away from the stage area’ by security ( they may or may not have been kicked out.)

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 14:19:16

Well, at least Jeremy Corbyn is not afraid to meet Labour party members. Therisa May is frightened to meet even her own cabinet in one group for Brexit discussion. She has now split them into two groups to meet separately so as to stop them rowing with one another, or all ganging up on her. grin

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 14:23:34

Jeremy Corbyn will meet anyone, Hamas, IRA, you name it.
It’s what he enjoys doing, discussing rebelling! grin
Although, strangely enough, he doesn’t enjoy meeting and discussing with his own rebelling shadow cabinet, which is why so many walked out recently.

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 14:25:07

TM stated that the Tories would be the party of stable government. What a joke.blush

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 14:28:31

Well, they are still in power, so that’s a start.
Stable government means looking after the economy, getting people into work, and generally not frightening the horses....

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 14:30:06

....and not creating embarrassing pop/political concerts.

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 14:31:23

Wonder if any GNers have an official Jezza T shirt?

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 14:32:29

TM had to beg her own chief Brexit Negotiator not to resign last week, and some would claim she has no problems in her cabinet. Labour are not the party of government at present but the Tories are. Therefore it matters little who come and goes in that party, but the Tories are the UK governments face to the world and what is happening there very much makes Britain a laughing stock to that world.

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 14:34:43

Must have been a very embarrassing cabinet meeting for May following the above debacle.

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 14:36:30

Annie I wonder if anyone paid full price for a ticket, or in fact, any price at all? The biggest queues were for the ice cream vangrin I expect it was a free day out for those living locally anyway.

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 14:37:15

DH used to play on the tennis courts there, way back when.

lemongrove Mon 18-Jun-18 14:39:01

Grandad you are doing your usual sterling job of diverting the topic ( though I understand why you don’t like it!)
Any comment on the day in the park at Tottenham?

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 14:39:22

I wonder if any GNers have the " I am for David Davis" T shirts that are about?

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Jun-18 14:42:46

I thought it was a good gig but held in the wrong place. As for diverting the topic Lemongrove, you are undoubtedly the forum expert on that.

What's up do you not like balance in a thread.
