What you have stated above trisher is precisely my own position. I believe that Corbyn has led the Labour party poorly regarding Brexit and the antisemitism issues.

However, the Labour Party position on the Gig Economy and further restrictions on Zero Hours Contracts are true Labour and could benefit many employers who wish to offer good employment terms and conditions to their employees. It is only Labour who are committed to ending "the race to the bottom".

As you stare trisher true Labour, who have returned to policies that will benefit all in the UK, not just the few.

I've not been on Gransnet for a couple of weeks but was not surprised to see yet another thread having a go at Corbyn.

It's a pity Chuka Umunna didn't have the staying power to continue with his bid to be leader - standing down only four days after putting his name in the hat. His reason that he hadn't anticipated The "intensified media pressure" sounded pretty unconvincing to me. But no doubt he was right to withdraw. Corbyn has been villified from day one and after only four days Mr Umunna chickened out.

Is it any wonder that many Labour Party members do not trust people who make such statements before a general election.

As she increased her majority in 2017 by 10,247,perhaps her words struck a chord with the voters of her constituency ie the 'ordinary people who may not be Labour Party members but who want to vote Labour?

The fact that Joan Ryan increased her majority means nothing. I'm not much of a fan of my local MP but it was important that I vote for her because not to do so would have risked losing a Labour seat and would be used to claim that Corbyn was responsible for the loss. There were many Labour voters I know who felt similarly.

More the lack of trust in the Tory government , Fact a large number of new labour members are young people who have no knowledge of the damage of a far left party controlled by unions . He voted as he did because of his beliefs, should he have lied? Corvyn voted 428 times against the whip and you support this trisher, your list of principles seems shallow

First principle -If there is a chance you can defeat the sitting gov you vote with your party (If you can produce any evidence that one of JCs 428 votes was crucial to a defeat I would cerainly condemn that as well)
Second principle- on matters of conscience such as war, weapons sale, abortion legislation etc you vote with your conscience

Frank Field is a very admirable individual.

trisher, you decide the principles of others ? I can agree or disagree with people’s principles, no way do I think I have any right to choose principles for others to hold.
