Oh dear sometimes you lot really do try to protect each other don't you. A little politics discussion is good for you you know. You don't need to hide behind the aspidistra together. Try saying somthing different for a change.

I've just seen this, lemon

The government doesn’t have any money, it’s all our
Money, which people seem to forget,

You are completely and utterly wrong about this. It comes from the ruler of the land or their representatives. Who actually, physically makes currency? Who authorises its manufacture and distribution? We don't, the 'crown' does.

Posted too early by accident. Quote from lemon is not formatted.

I suggested nothing of the kind trisher

I suggested you could provide any links to MSM articles in praise of Corbyn - I would love to see them too. You must know where to find some.

I then said I would start it off and started a list, all of which was quite positive I thought.
You could carry on with the list if you so wished, or provide a link, or just ignore - whatever you prefer.

It's a tricky business, making jam, and I have said before that I like a chat with Jeremy about his recommendations re setting points etc.
I am sure he can multi-task smile

Jalima1108 Tue 18-Sep-18 14:32:43

I would like a chat (haven't met him yet, strangely enough, although we may have bumped into each as children).

Jalima1108 Tue 18-Sep-18 14:33:41

So JC can make jam and also run the country.
He can indeed make jam, as for running the country, that has yet to be proved.

Damning with faint praise is an English idiom, expressing oxymoronically that half-hearted or insincere praise may act as oblique criticism or condemnation.

Anniebach Tue 18-Sep-18 14:38:09

Jalima, lemon, behave , sit up straight, shoulders back , and don’t forget to salute

trisher Tue 18-Sep-18 14:47:45

Jalima It wasn't me who mentioned praise for Corbyn it was Annie I then asked for links because we all know that MSM has very little positive to say about him (and why should they? they are for the most part controlled by right wing moguls)
So no I can't provide links.
I'm glad you appreciate Corbyn's jam making I do think in the 21st century some deviation from the sexist proscribed roles is always welcome. Unlike the Mays of course where he always takes the rubbish out (or so they claim)

Jalima1108 Tue 18-Sep-18 14:48:35

It was just a start OldMeg smile
and all positive I thought.

I could list some of the household tasks my Dad used to undertake in the 20th century too.
And he rode a bike.
and he was a socialist

in fact hmm

trisher Tue 18-Sep-18 15:03:32

That's funny so did my dad, but then everyone did (ride a bike I mean) where I came from.

Jalima1108 Tue 18-Sep-18 15:11:26

No helmets in those days.

lemongrove Tue 18-Sep-18 18:15:13

Now we all need tin helmets! grin
My Father wasn’t a socialist, nor did he ride a bike.Or make jam.

What worries me is that Corbyn has the time to make jam
( or maybe the jam making was all in his backbencher days.)

Ilovecheese Tue 18-Sep-18 18:18:29

Well, I suppose if Mrs May has time to watch Strictly Come Dancing, he should have time to make jam.

lemongrove Tue 18-Sep-18 18:22:34

As I remember, jam making used to take ages, cleaning and hulling/peeling the fruit, boiling it all up with sugar until it reached the right stages and pouring into clean jars and sealing. Then cleaning the kitchen which always looked like a bomb site.grin

Jalima1108 Tue 18-Sep-18 18:36:10

Chutney takes longer.
My father used to make a big jar of pickled onions, ready in time for Christmas.

Anniebach Tue 18-Sep-18 18:44:28

Corbyn watches Love Island, he said who he was going to vote for last year.

trisher Tue 18-Sep-18 19:18:44

Depends on the sort of jam really-stawberry is easy, so is raspberry. Making clear jelly takes longer. You have to strain it through muslin or a jelly bag. My gran used to tie a piece of muslin between 2 chairs and leave it to drip through.

Jalima1108 Tue 18-Sep-18 20:00:56

Strawberry has to have pectin in some form added though. I have made it too sloppy and some like glue!

I like making jelly, I hang it in muslin tied with string from a cupboard door handle.
