I don't think it was fair to target his children but they don't really seem like ordinary folk do they?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Sept-18 13:52:00

Anniebach you had the correct name, Sadiq Khan is the Mayor of London, and he is totally ineffectual!!!

Anniebach Sat 29-Sept-18 13:58:47

Did I? Thank you GrannyGravy, I am not good with names. I like the Welsh use of names, Christian name and occupation , or name of village or farm ? I knew a man as Eric the Star, he wasn’t famous , he owned the Star Inn, never knew his surname

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Sept-18 14:07:30

We do similar here - Pete the Plasterer, We have Bob the Builder also.

Anniebach Sat 29-Sept-18 14:12:01

Much easier isn’t it GrannyGravy. Be useless in Wales saying ‘I was talking to David Jones yesterday , but saying Dai the Milk No problem

MawBroon Sat 29-Sept-18 18:28:54

Oops my apology Anniebach blush My confusion

Anniebach Sat 29-Sept-18 18:48:28

Makes a change Maw , I usually get names wrong ?

It doesn't really matter who has money and who does not if we are talking about a planet with finite resources. JRM's children may have the benefit of family wealth now but their descendants (how many from six in a century's time?) may not. It's a simple case of continuing overpopulation and those who can should think about the future.

lemongrove Sun 30-Sept-18 08:44:00

A lot of po faced chat about JRM having six children on here.
Why not as he can afford to take care of them all.
What happened to cutting your coat according to your cloth in life?
There are other large families with wanted children who manage to get by even though they don’t have much ( they would rather have the children) and that's fine too.
There are others who continue to pop out children they didn’t really want with different fathers and expect society to provide for, even though it’s easy to take the pill or some other contraceptive measure.

" It doesn't really matter who has money and who does not if we are talking about a planet with finite resources."

" It's a simple case of continuing overpopulation and those who can should think about the future."

So do you agree with putting a number as to how many children we should have across the board irrespective of background, wealth or religion?

Rufussmum Sun 30-Sept-18 15:27:03

No, just airing an opinion. In the same way that you can't compel people to conserve energy or recycle plastic. In an ideal world everyone would make responsible choices.

Anniebach Sun 30-Sept-18 15:33:08

For the individual to decide what is a responsible choice

varian Sun 30-Sept-18 19:20:13

JRM has proved in many ways that he is a selfish, greedy, uncaring politician who has no conception of what might be a responsible choice.

The veneer of politeness cannot conceal his venal nature and malicious ambition.

He openly talks of his vision of a low-tax economy - i.e. I'm all right Jack because I can make a fast buck when the poor fools who voted Leave lose their jobs and I have millions and a nice new office in Dublin to take advantage of an EU location.

paddyann Sun 30-Sept-18 20:21:26

the Mogg says Brexit will be OK for most folk ,that we'll be able to use our savings ,portfolios of stocks and shares etc etc to survive until things improve.....the man is clearly deluded .Foodbank use rising ,millions of children in poverty ,and millions of families...working families who have to depend on benefits to survve ,What planet is he on.The vast majority haven't GOT savings or portfolios or even enough to survive on week to week .

jura2 Sun 30-Sept-18 20:25:33

... let them eat cake (hmm and have it too).

I don't care about his manner, his voice, his kids, his massive state pile -

I do mind, very much, about his lack of compassion and total lack of understanding of what so many people are going through.

POGS Sun 30-Sept-18 23:41:00

Rufussmum

" so I don't agree that how many children people choose to have is a personal choice."

If that is an opinion it sounds more like a statement to me.

Rufussmum Mon 01-Oct-18 13:09:08

POGS... In my opinion, how many children people choose to have is a not just a matter for personal choice. There are other, larger, more far-reaching issues to consider.
Is that better?

kackie Mon 01-Oct-18 13:16:05

He is at least a gentleman and considered by his constituents to be totally honest. Why does this exemplary behaviour and good manners incite such nasty and vile behaviour from people who are ignorant and disrespectful?

Anniebach Mon 01-Oct-18 13:17:52

Because he has money and his children have a nanny Kakie

kackie Mon 01-Oct-18 13:31:03

Rather sad to see an ignorant old man bullying and verbally abusing children. Maybe he could have some lessons in manners from JCM

Diana54 Mon 01-Oct-18 13:36:52

I'm sure JRM is honest, polite, likes children and ambitious, he also knows his company will make a great deal of money out of the instability that Brexit causes. There is absolutely nothing in leaving the EU that will benefit 90% plus of the population

MaizieD Mon 01-Oct-18 13:46:38

I'm not so sure about 'honest'. He's been caught telling porkies on a number of occasions...

Anniebach Mon 01-Oct-18 13:48:09

What porkies Maizie ?

paddyann Mon 01-Oct-18 13:50:08

Nothing to do with his money Annie everything to do with his politics

MaizieD Mon 01-Oct-18 14:01:25

'Economical with the facts' Annie deliberately misleading people...

Carried on asserting this was true when it wasn't:

www.lbc.co.uk/radio/special-shows/ring-rees-mogg/ferrari-challenges-jacob-rees-mogg-sun-article/

Chris, a caller to LBC, asked Mr Rees-Mogg why he had not yet deleted his tweet, but the backbencher insisted the principle is correct, even if it contained some errors.

Anniebach Mon 01-Oct-18 14:01:52

Realy Paddyann? Then why is his wealth brought into almost every critical post.
