Theresa May will lose the vote on Tuesday.

Do you agree?

And then what will happen next........let’s see whose prediction is the closest. Perhaps let this thread run about 2 weeks and see who got it right, or nearly right.

Declare a winner just before Christmas.

Over to you ?

Hands up all posters who can confidently predict that a stroke/accident/ insert your own catastrophic event will never happen to you!

GabriellaG54 Sun 09-Dec-18 18:56:50

...and anything 'addressed' to GG will obviously be to or about someone else.

Jalima1108 Sun 09-Dec-18 18:58:12

I think those who come back did not really research things properly in the first instance not spending enough time out there before making the big decision.
One worked as a GP but wasn't keen on their system
One other may go back at some future date but missed her family too much.

Both single young women.

Jalima1108 Sun 09-Dec-18 19:00:26

I'm sorry GG54 but some of your posts have been quite confusing about your early life.

However, I do not think that you are an old bloke from Widnes, rest assured.

oldbatty Sun 09-Dec-18 19:04:15

Nobody said G was old.

Jalima1108 Sun 09-Dec-18 19:05:55

Sorry oldbatty
blush

GabriellaG54 Sun 09-Dec-18 19:13:48

73/4 is old but I have never visited or lived in Widnes nor am I male or trans male.
Why not point out to me the conflicting or confusing accounts you mention? I would certainly not shy away from making the picture clear, however, as it matters to you, ask away. I can't correct or clear if I have no idea what accounts cause confusion.

GabriellaG54 Sun 09-Dec-18 19:18:49

I'm simply seeking to distance myself from GG, a bloke in Widnes who is a 'person to 'ignore'.

Going back to politics for a moment, why are some Gransnetters so concerned at the thought of a Labour Government?
Is it not true that all politicians are the same, and that swapping them around now and again keeps them on their toes?

Granny23 Mon 10-Dec-18 13:10:09

Well that's that then VOTE CANCELLED

Jalima1108 Mon 10-Dec-18 13:16:45

why are some Gransnetters so concerned at the thought of a Labour Government?
I don't think they are sluttygran - in fact they would probably vote for one if the people at the top of the LP were changed and Momentum put back into its box.

Jalima1108 Mon 10-Dec-18 13:17:35

Yes, but the thought of Jeremy Corbyn as PM for five years (or even worse, McDonnell) is terrifying.

NannyC2 Mon 10-Dec-18 14:00:01

Vote now delayed, we hear!

loopyloo Mon 10-Dec-18 14:06:09

Yippee, on page one I said it would be delayed!

Anja Mon 10-Dec-18 14:41:22

loopyloo I declare you the winner unless someone else also said that!

Jalima1108 Mon 10-Dec-18 17:53:02

You win the tins of beans then loopyloo

You can eat them now and not stockpile them.
grin

I’ve decided that the reason Theresa May has pulled the vote is that she doesn’t want to have to move out of No.10 until after Christmas.

It’s taken her hours to put the decorations up and the turkey she’s ordered is too big for her own oven.

EllanVannin Mon 10-Dec-18 18:48:23

General Election March 2019.

lemongrove Mon 10-Dec-18 19:00:16

I predict.... we can all sit back and enjoy Christmas, as nothing will be sorted before then.tchsmile

oldbatty Mon 10-Dec-18 19:01:52

yeah sit back and enjoy ( if you have a house and heating and food)

sluttygran Mon 10-Dec-18 19:02:31

I do hope we have a General Election soon, and I very much hope we shall see a Labour Government.
So many people have told me they absolutely couldn’t vote for Jeremy Corbyn but are unable to give a cogent reason why they dislike him, other than that ‘He’s a Communist!’
Having read the Labour manifesto, I see none of the undesirable signs of Communism, so Labour will get my vote.
Having said that, it’s a bit like flogging a dead horse in this area, as I live in a true-blue Tory stronghold!

EllanVannin Mon 10-Dec-18 19:14:43

The way Conservatives have gone will create a lot of tactical voting so your wish for a Labour government could come true sluttygran. Lord help us ! A Marxist government, just what I've always wanted sad

GabriellaG54 Mon 10-Dec-18 19:21:12

Liebour would never get a toe hold where I live. Blue to the core and very closed minded. I don't think that's necessarily a good thing although I would never vote Liebour. I, on the other hand, voted leave but wish there was a strong leader (like Maggie) to get us out. Bulldoze through the ditherers and get us a hard Brexit and deal with any consequences. UK laws, UK waters (no French or Spanish fishing rights) tight borders, 5k max immigration for essential services and must speak and read English to a good standard etc. We can do it.

oldbatty Mon 10-Dec-18 19:32:24

Yes, I agree, great ideas here.

Anja Mon 10-Dec-18 19:45:26

England first then GG? ????
