We wouldn't have all this garbage if everyone had done their homework and voted remain. It surprised me greatly.

Theresa May will lose the vote on Tuesday.
Do you agree?
And then what will happen next........let’s see whose prediction is the closest. Perhaps let this thread run about 2 weeks and see who got it right, or nearly right.
Declare a winner just before Christmas.
Over to you ?
We wouldn't have all this garbage if everyone had done their homework and voted remain. It surprised me greatly.
a strong leader (like Maggie)
Maggie would think you're all bonkers! She knew exactly where the UK's interests lay.... in Europe.
She wouldn't have signed the treaty of Maastricht, so we wouldn't have been in this position anyway. Apparently John Major has reservations, but signed anyway.
The leavers called the remain campaign warnings on Brexit "project fear." I would call GGs and others with her view of the "benefits" of a hard Brexit, "project pie in the sky".
Just write off the threat to many thousands of jobs and whole industries as nothing.
Reminds me of Magie Thacher stating in regard to the mass unemployment she created as "a price worth paying".
Why do so many people see Labour as Marxist/Communist? They are nothing of the kind.
I would be genuinely interested to hear which of their policies are being perceived as Marxist!
They see them as that because most newspapers and all tories tell them that Labour is Marxist/ Communist.
Surveys in the past have found that the majority of people support Labour policies so long as they don't know that they are Labour policies yet the LP is reviled and feared.
Well said Maizie D
There is a huge amount of anti-Labour and anti-Corbyn propaganda in the press because Murdoch and his buddies stand liable to pay their tax dues like the rest of us under a Labour administration.
I urge their readers to dig a little deeper and find out what’s really going on.
I have lived through governments of all political shades, and they’ve mostly done a reasonable job, but this present bunch of Tory sociopaths are beyond belief.
With you, GG.
TM is running this show, last minute cancellation and back to EU to get final final concessions. Vote next week for sure, it will be lost, she will make it clear that the "deal" is the only one available whoever is PM, send the whole rabble home for Christmas to think about it.
New Year. The reality is that nobody wants to challenge her and loose, there is no apetite in the Tory party to take on the poison chalice, nor for Corbyn to press a vote of no confidence.
If she wins a no confidence vote she cannot be challenged for a year. There was a lot of backing for a second referendum in parliament and to break the deadlock it seems a good bet.
TM is a tough as old boots and clever too, Thatcher MK2, not yet she hasn't declared war on anyone!
There is a huge amount of anti-Labour and anti-Corbyn propaganda
I think you are underestimating your fellow GNers. My poor opinion of Corbyn and Momentum is based on their own publications and their own social media accounts.
I also read a WIDE variety of press including overseas press, its actually the echo chamber tendancies of labour supporters that worries me, not the other way round
Yes indeed. The rest of the UK must make their feelings known, of course.
I'm all for being fair and above board but when other countries play games, it's extra hard to play a fair game yourself.
Y'know, voters can't have innumerable throws of the dice to get the result they want. 1 go and that's it. If you don't want or can't be bothered to vote and the result is not your preference, you must bite the bullet instead of trying to poison the army.
I love GB, but abhor the way some factions seem intent on destabilising the result, the government, and planting seeds weeds of doubt hither and thither.
If the boat is rocked too far, we will all suffer the consequences. No doubt about it.
My 10:14 reply is to Anja
Just to be clear GG are you saying ‘Yes indeed’ to Britain First?
notanan2 isn't that interesting I would say that there is a lot of name calling and condemnation of Corbyn and the LP on GN but no real analysis of what policies people dislike. Just as there is a lot of support expressed for TM and the CP but no admission that such support has led to the increase in homelessness and the use of food banks.
I think TM continues much in the same vein she always has done- "Strong and stable"but she wasn't. "This is the best deal we can get" although now apparently it isn't. I wouldn't trust the woman to go to the shops for a piece of cheese, god only knows what she would come back with!
Back to Basics,Strong and Stable,Brexit means Brexit,Britain First. It's a veritable pick and mix.
Pity we still don't have Ann Widdicombe - now there's a formidable lady who would not be over-ridden by Brussels and has Christian principles.
If she has 'Christian Principles' surely she would honour paying the money we have committed ourselves to paying the EU. I'd like to have a check on her voting record as an MP to see what her attitude is towards to poor and needy.
Ahh AW - she who made women prisoners give birth in handcuffs and when receiving ante and post natal care - with Christian principles like that.....
I predict that the Tories are finished (I am a reluctant Tory voter not seeing much to like in Labour) but to push the Country into this situation is unforgivable. This desire to hold Britain back by leaving the EU is based on outdated principles.
What I also predict is that Ireland will become more prosperous; Scotland will vote for independence (This has played right into their hands); Wales will become poorer and little olde england will become nothing on the World stage.
I predict we'll go back to square 1 - pre-referendum.
We will carry on grumbling about the EU until the next world crisis when we will be glad we remained.
Can I recommend again my original 2 year old solution - i.e. Scotland and NI who voted to Remain stay in the EU whilst England and Wales leave with or without a deal.
The EU border would then be the Scotland/England border which is much shorter and easier to enforce than the ROI/NI border. Goods could be transported directly between Scottish Ports and Denmark, the Netherlands, etc avoiding all the congestion at the channel ports' English or Welsh remainers can relocate to Scotland/NI if they wish and avid leavers can buy up the vacant houses or simply swap homes with those moving into the Eu areas. I expect that if someone finds themself on the 'wrong' side of the border but does not want to move they could just be an ExPat.
The British Isles would still remain a Geographic entity (although you would be able to take 'foreign' holidays without needing to fly or take a ferry
Separately governed, I predict the 4 (or 3 if Wales remains with England) Nations would soon become the best of friends instead of 'Auld Enemies', when each Nation can choose their own government and plan their own future.
wish there was a "like" button for that post Granny23 sadly though its too much like common sense for Westminster to agree to it .Of course they would be losing their cash cow when we go so that won't do at all ! Recently saw leaked 1999 Scottish accounts, very interesting ...look for it online .THATS why they are hanging onto us !!
But PaddyAnn, Scotland voted to remain in the U.K., no government can be held responsible for this.
BUT annie Scotland voted to stay in the UK BECAUSE they were told it was the ONLY way to stay in the EU !! Ask them again what they want, think you'll find the 62% who voted remain will swell the numbers PLUS the EU citizens who voted NO then will vote YES now.
Are you aware that both Barnier and Verhofstadt have said there is no problem with Scotland being a member of the EU That there will be NO queue involved and that we would be warmly welcomed .Probably not as MSM likes to keep these things quiet in case England thinks we're getting special treatment .Lets face it with a minimum of 1.5 TRILLION of oil still to be harvested and the new Atlantic fields that haven't been evaluated the EU would be mad to see us slip away .Westminster would rather our money was in THEIR pockets .
Well...after reading Granny23's post I'm voting for her as PM instead of TM. Anyone else?
