I don't think Barry Gardner has moderated his accent. He has a normal well educated Glasgow accent.

My friend had a normal well-educated Glasgow accent but his is more unusual.

There are as many Glazgow accents as London accents. Not all Londoners sounds the same. BG sounds to me like a fellow Glaswegian.

I agree PECS he's awful, but I feel the same way about Anna Soubry and Chuka Umunna. I didn't know much about Heidi Allen but listening to her yesterday as she gushed about her 'wonderful constituents' (such a creep!) made me want to throw up!
