A small number of back benchers will announce they are leaving the party this morning.

Chuka Umunna is one who may be among them.

Mycatisahacker Fri 22-Feb-19 21:40:35

Actually having difficulty believing what I am reading!

I don’t think Campbell was a racist was he? Or Blaire. But of course I forgot your script from the Dear Leader. They are the enemy arnt they? And anyone who dares question the Dear Leader they face the concequences.

Sounds like a communist state to me shock who knew.

Jamilia are you sure you haven’t a secret crush on old Barry? grin

Anniebach Fri 22-Feb-19 21:48:31

George Galloway on tv, Luciana didn’t leave because of anti Semetism!

Exciting for the far left, they may have Gorgous George back in their midst .

PECS Fri 22-Feb-19 21:50:42

Galloway is a prick of the first order.

Mycatisahacker Fri 22-Feb-19 21:51:26

He accused Naz Shar of lying about her forced marrisge too.

He hates women

Anniebach Fri 22-Feb-19 21:54:48

I Remember watching that. Was he drunk? grin

Nothing to do with George Galloway but those Labour MPs who have defected were ALL in favour of recommissioning Trident (cost 200 billion and rising) and against an investigation into Tony Blair's part in the Iraq War. This is all known fact, not hearsay.

And it could be why they feel the Labour Party is no longer one they want to belong to. Also, they could be deselected because they no longer represent their local party's views on defence etc. And now they can, and will, no doubt, join another party or stand as independents.

This nothing to do with bullying, it is part of the democratic process!

Zsarina Sat 23-Feb-19 03:43:46

I can’t say I know politics as such but if I voted for a certain mp for my constituency ie con., labour, or ind and that mp defects to join another party.....what has happened to my vote?...he/she is not in the party I voted for...
Like I said ..I don’t know politics

Not easy - but there are extreme circumstances, and No Deal Brexit is very much one of them - when things change dramatically and it is clear that party's is leading to disaster- when people have to stand up and say 'NO, I will not and cannot support this- as it will hurt my constituents too much and my conscience won't let me'.

Total respect for that.

PECS Sat 23-Feb-19 09:52:21

“What was once a mass membership national party has become dominated locally by unrepresentative sections of the community, who are so few in number that elected members are almost self selected, and taken over nationally by extremists who would previously have been more at home in UKIP. By moving away from its historic core values, the party has abandoned more moderate people like me.”

The above is a quote from a local Conservative councillor who has resigned in despair that his national party is not the party he recognises! #nothingtochoosebetweenthem

Mycatisahacker I believe at the time Campbell very much hated everything and everyone who didn't agree with him. (he has mellowed a lot) And he used any method he could to keep them in line. The one thing he did have (which no one in Labour has now) was very close connections with newspapers and media outlets which he used to keep control. An MP who had something he wanted to keep quiet needed Alistair on his side.
It's really nothing to do with Corbyn just the way the Blair government operated, something which seems to have been forgotten about. Perhaps many of those alleging bullying and harrasment are still working through the trauma of those days grin

Grandad1943 Sat 23-Feb-19 10:34:37

Yes Pecs, in response to your post @ 9:52 this morning, the Conservative party is really falling apart, with its small membership in the country being infiltrated by extream right-wing elements and having the ERG as a party within the Tory Party in the House of Commons.

In the above, the ERG party are completely dominating the Tory parliamentary agenda on Brexit to such an extent that three cabinet ministers are threatening to vote against the government that they are a central part of if a no deal Brexit remains on the table next week.

In the meantime, British businesses both large and small are "screaming" for a settlement and an end to all the uncertainty that had hampered their forward trading plans for so long.

However "May continues to fiddle while Britain burns."

Anti semetism has nothing to do with Corbyn ? denial of truth doesn’t change the truth.

Anniebach Sat 23-Feb-19 11:09:41

A Labour Momentum rally in Anna Soubry’s constituency today, momentum buses heading for it,

Grandad1943 Sat 23-Feb-19 11:45:35

Anniebach, if you are attempting to connect momentum to the abuse of Anna Soubry outside of Parliament, then I do not feel that any such connection exists at this point in time

Indeed, the person who has been arrested in regard to that incident has connections to Tommy Robinsons extream right wing movement who now dominate UKIP and are infiltrating constituency parties within the Conservative Party.

Anniebach Sat 23-Feb-19 12:05:52

Anniebach Sat 23-Feb-19 12:12:25

Latest, Corbyn Momentum Party are bringing in Charlie Falconer to sort the anti semetism which was sorted out by Baroness Shami , followed by Formby , most strange as we are told there is no anti semetism in the party

trisher Sat 23-Feb-19 12:21:12

Ah the usual "damned if you do, damned if you don't, argument Annie. Perhaps now you have resigned from the Labour party you could start posting things you do support. Like the 11 MPs who have left and are now the Independent Group, except 'Oops" they don't have any policies or ideas, just criticisms and allegations. Much like someone else.

Anniebach Sat 23-Feb-19 12:30:48

trisher I no longer belong to any party so do not support any party. I may make a decision at some time.

The 11 MP’s are not a party they are 11 independent MP’s, some I support some I do not.

Iam64 Sat 23-Feb-19 12:37:44

I’d be interested in anything about the Current labour leadership that you don’t support trisher.

Grandad1943 Sat 23-Feb-19 12:38:21

So you have no political opinion on any matter then Anniebach? Some may call that "sitting on the fence". That being something you have criticised others for so often as I recall. grin

trisher Sat 23-Feb-19 12:38:55

I didn't ask if you belonged to a party Annie I asked what policies you would support and if you could post some. We all know what you don't support I have problems understanding what you do.

Anniebach Sat 23-Feb-19 12:39:00

Grandad1943 Sat 23-Feb-19 12:45:40

You see it "takes a bit of guts" to inform people of what a person stands for in life.

It takes nothing to just criticise all and sundry.
