A small number of back benchers will announce they are leaving the party this morning.

Chuka Umunna is one who may be among them.

Anniebach Mon 25-Feb-19 21:18:49

He can’t risk losing more MP’s, he would sell his soul

lemongrove Mon 25-Feb-19 21:26:17

trisher.....are you ‘aving a laff’ ?!
You say ‘ IF there is evidence of anti-semitism in the LP then I think it will be dealt with’.
IF???
And it hasn’t been dealt with so far.
Everybody bar you recognises the many many anti-semitic
Words and actions of LP members.

lemongrove Mon 25-Feb-19 21:27:22

How long can you continue to deny it because it makes you uncomfortable?

Anniebach Mon 25-Feb-19 21:31:35

We mustn’t forget he promised a gentler , kinder politics, problem is he forgot

Jabberwok Mon 25-Feb-19 21:56:57

He's just frightful in every respect. Politicians on all sides are pretty grim, but for barefaced deceit, dear old Jeremy takes the biscuit! How on earth can anyone believe one word he says?!!! Tbh, I'm speechless at the twisting and turning of this dreadful man.

Mycatisahacker Mon 25-Feb-19 22:06:25

He’s so incompetent it’s sad

Anniebach Mon 25-Feb-19 22:06:56

His hypocrisy will hang him , hopefully

Anniebach Mon 25-Feb-19 22:07:46

He makes Boris Johnson seem honourable

Urmstongran Tue 26-Feb-19 10:59:43

Just been listening to John Mann (a Leave MP with a 70% vote Leave constituency) being interviewed by (Remainer) Adam Boulton on Sky.

If John Mann were leader of the Labour Party it would be a different kettle of fish. I’d definitely vote Labour then.

humptydumpty Tue 26-Feb-19 16:08:21

I see this has degenerated into yet another JC-bashing thread.

Anniebach Tue 26-Feb-19 16:45:38

Criticism , as we all do when discussing politicians, you may be an exception and find no weakness or fault in any politican humpydumpty considering the number of posts on this political thread you haven’t read any untill today ?

grannypauline Tue 26-Feb-19 17:35:26

If John Mann were leader I would still vote Labour, especially if the party continues with an an anti-austerity programme.

However, he voted:
For the Iraq War and against an investigation into it.
For the replacement of Trident.

So, nope, not my choice for leader.

varian Tue 26-Feb-19 18:02:32

John Mann could never be LP leader. He is an extreme brexiter, while the majority of LP voters, LP members and LP MPs want the UK to remain in the EU.

Rowantree Thu 28-Feb-19 09:52:22

humptydumpty Corbyn-bashing? That is indeed what this thread is all about. 'I saw Goody humpty/ trisher/Rowantree etc/ with the devil....!'

And of course the devil incarnate is that despicable evil Red One under the Bed, Corbynsuccubus.

Anniebach To imply that Humpty is uncritical of 'any politician' because she is standing up to the unpleasant, venomous mud-slinging gang mentality is offensive.

Humpty suggest that if you want a real discussion or debate, start a new thread instead and leave them to it. :-D

Anniebach Thu 28-Feb-19 09:57:58

Rowantree perhaps you will explain why criticism of a politician is - criticism , but criticism of Corbyn is Corbyn bashing ?

lemongrove Thu 28-Feb-19 11:07:44

What a weird and grumpy response Rowantree !
You are saying that if people don’t agree with you and a few others they should start their own club ( thread).
The Devil incarnate ? Corbynsuccubus? Shudder.....did you have to put that image in our minds.?

Anniebach Thu 28-Feb-19 12:47:38

A discussion on the Labour Party but only praise for Corbyn wanted .

PECS Thu 28-Feb-19 13:00:18

I think a little balance in arguments would make it more purposeful and mature! hmm

MaizieD Thu 28-Feb-19 13:17:24

However, if we stay in the EU, it will surely put an end to a lot of his aspirations including renationalisation which would be a small bonus!

How on earth do you reach that ridiculous conclusion, Jabberwocky?

There was nothing in the last LP manifesto which couldn't be done within Europe. Even renationalisation is achievable. Have you not noticed that some EU states have nationalised transport systems? Has it failed to register with you that the East Coast mainline has been nationalised, for the second time while we are still in the EU

I sometimes wonder if all you fairness and greater equality haters have actually read the manifesto. Or if you have any understanding at all of the immense damage that the tory austerity policies have done to the UK.

Anniebach Thu 28-Feb-19 13:23:03

Some brutal posters on this thread, haters and bashers ?

PECS Thu 28-Feb-19 14:16:55

Everywhere I have travelled on state run trains in Europe (France/ Spain) have had cheaper fares and were efficient. Just an observation!

Iam64 Thu 28-Feb-19 15:48:11

And an observation I second PECS. I just can’t see how nationalising public transport can be worse than the current nonsense.

POGS Fri 01-Mar-19 13:05:59

I think there is at last an honesty and will to push things forward by some decent Labour members who have had enough too.

Extracts:-

www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/feb/28/labour-worst-day-shame-tom-watson-luciana-berger-resignation

Almost 500 Labour supporters of Jeremy Corbyn have signed an open letter apologising to the Jewish community for the party’s “collective failure” over tackling antisemism.

“We are Labour members who support Jeremy Corbyn in his leadership and the progressive, socialist programme and anti-racist principles of the Labour party.

“We have seen antisemitism from Labour members and supporters, online or offline. We recognise that as a movement we have been too slow to acknowledge this problem, too tolerant of the existence of antisemitic views within our ranks, too defensive and too eager to downplay it.

“We sincerely apologise to the Jewish community, and our Jewish comrades in the party, for our collective failure on this issue to date.”
--

What a difference of opinion between those members who speak in honesty and those members who think Labour MP's have ' not been intimidated enough ' and deny it is a problem!

Iam64 Fri 01-Mar-19 13:19:48

That is a significant statement, thanks POGS

Anniebach Fri 01-Mar-19 13:45:53

Thank you POGS
