Hi everyone -

If you are at all politically minded and would like to share any GOOD NEWS about Brexit, or would just like to post some optimistic thoughts - this is the thread to love.
❤️

Most of us are weary of the gloom and doom on GN! Let’s share positive news and views. Its time to look for compromise, be kind and inclusive with one another if we can. Life’s too short to be scared or miserable!

Stop peeping. C’mon in! We’d love to hear from you.

?I agree Nanasam

Corbyn seems strangely silent for the Leader of the Opposition?

You’d think he’d be out there gunning the PM down. But perhaps a new seed catalogue has arrived.

Bridgeit Mon 18-Mar-19 20:32:57

? well he’s certainly sowing the seeds of doubt about his abilities & capabilities.

Urmstongran Mon 18-Mar-19 20:43:06

Nice one Bridgeit! Very quick.
??

I for one am enjoying this gentler Brexit thread. There’s enough doom and gloom on the other Brexit threads - one poster called this one ‘pathetic’. How mean!

Thanks Urmstongran,
If we loose our sense of humour, we surely will be doomed.
Do you remember Dads Army, ?can’t think of his name,
What was his saying, ‘ Doomed we’re all Doomed.

Just curious about the green tick attached to this thread, did you put that on Urmston?

Liam Fox reports trade deals with Iceland, Norway and... Lichtenstein!

Bridgeit Mon 18-Mar-19 21:06:21

Me too,
Is it the ‘Suitable for Vegans’ sign

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Mar-19 21:22:38

B9exchange Quote [Liam Fox reports trade deals with Iceland, Norway and... Lichtenstein!]

Great, Britain will now be OK for fish (which we will have plenty of from our own fleet following Brexit) and gas, which the government wants us all to stop using by 2025.

Along with the above, we will be inundated with Dracula films. I think that's where he came from being that Transylvania was the former title of Lichtenstein, was it not? grin

Urmstongran Mon 18-Mar-19 21:22:53

I put it on to signal ‘all is good’. I thought it appropriate for this thread. It can also signify ‘a positive reinforcement’.

I’m still optimistic and hoping for more GOOD NEWS to share on here.

On whether there "should or should not be a new referendum held on whether Britain should leave the EU or remain a member":

There should: 38%
There should not: 52%

Yougov today.

nanasam You've given me the best Christmas present ever ??

merlotgran Mon 18-Mar-19 22:06:12

You can't blame Mr Berkow can you? (Does anyone else thinks he's quite cute?)

Not while he's wearing that tie. grin

Cherrytree59 Mon 18-Mar-19 22:14:14

Cute?
No, he looks like a wee garden gnome with mad hair,
sitting a big green chair
Shouting Order, Order!

Gonegirl Mon 18-Mar-19 22:19:00

Hmm. Perhaps you're right. Must admit Bilbo Baggins does come to mind.

But I like Bilbo Baggins!

I believe Transylvania is somewhere in the Balkans!

petra Mon 18-Mar-19 22:44:10

Transylvania is a region in Romania. I've been there many times.

Jalima1108 Mon 18-Mar-19 23:34:17

Along with the above, we will be inundated with Dracula films. I think that's where he came from being that Transylvania was the former title of Lichtenstein, was it not?

Not.
But petra knows!

How amazing that some remainers know so little about the geography of Europe!!
grin

Grandad1943 Mon 18-Mar-19 23:45:34

But we know about fish and gas. Gas not to be installed in homes beyond 2025, and fish we will be looking to sell to Iceland if we ever leave the EU after Berkow's ruling. grin

GabriellaG54 Tue 19-Mar-19 00:17:42

Berkow is a berk.
He suffers from little man syndrome and I'd love to wipe that smirk off his face once and for all.

GabriellaG54 Tue 19-Mar-19 00:26:57

The good news is that Krispy Creme have sent me a voucher for a smiley donut plus another one of my choice.
The really good news is that I let a lady and two children in Tesco choose the donuts as I'm off cakes.
Smiles all round...?? ? ?‍?‍?????

I'm not a leaver but have enjoyed the jokes, especially about the Eurocat.

And we're going to be importing fish from ….Fiji and Papua New Guinea! What on earth?

www.msn.com/en-gb/money/news/uk-signs-post-brexit-trade-deal-with-fiji-and-papua-new-guinea/ar-BBUMEw1

Good news? I'll leave it to you to decide.

Davidhs Tue 19-Mar-19 06:23:19

And we're going to be importing fish from ….Fiji and Papua New Guinea! What on earth?

My own experience is that fish from tropical waters are a very poor substitute for cold water fish we are used to, so I am not expecting a great rush of trade on that front.

Alima Tue 19-Mar-19 06:26:40

Every cloud and all that. I am not keen on fish so wouldn’t eat it wherever it came from.

Ginny42 Tue 19-Mar-19 06:33:18

The Dept for International Trade said the agreement would include goods like sugar and fish imported from the islands 10,000 miles away. Total trade between Britain and the area is worth about £369m per annum.

The Pacific islands deal is part of the UK Government's pledge to use trade to reduce poverty in developing nations. (Source as above.)
