It’s just acceptable is it ?

Footage showing British soldiers shooting at a large photograph of Jeremy Corbyn as target practice. I hope TM and the Defence Secretary stand up in the House today and condemn it thoroughly.

Baggs Wed 03-Apr-19 16:34:41

I understand the knee jerk outrage. It's information about what's actually outrageous (that is, harmful) that I would like now if anyone has any.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Apr-19 16:35:19

AB I remember the chants of "ding dong the witch is dead" along with the burning of Margaret Thatcher effigies.

trisher Wed 03-Apr-19 16:36:13

GG13 many of the excuses you have given were often used when soldiers raped women. They were under stress. They put their lives on the line.etc etc. That wasn't acceptable and neither is this. Perhaps if you want an army composed of trigger happy, violent pscychopaths it might be. If soldiers want to be regarded as honourable and professional then it isn't.

trisher Wed 03-Apr-19 16:36:46

From the army GG13?

And yet more of the same. This time supporting Tommy Robinson - so proud

maryeliza54 Wed 03-Apr-19 16:39:37

And the journalist was a serving soldier for 6 years

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Apr-19 16:40:10

trisher our son is an officer in the Armed Forces, not a secret I have stated it numerous times on here.

If anyone including armed forces personnel are found guilty of rape they should be punished accordingly.

If you think the Armed Forces are made up of "trigger happy violent phsycopaths" perhaps you need to do some research.

Nice bit of whataboutery GG but massive fail. Any sign of that link btw?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Apr-19 16:42:26

Maryeliza it is beginning to look like you have an axe to grind with regards to the British Armed Forces?

Anniebach Wed 03-Apr-19 16:42:41

Yes there were GrannyGravy and in the streets . Sick.

Do tell trisher where and when did British soldiers rape ?

Are you claiming members of the British armed forces are violent psychopaths?

trisher Wed 03-Apr-19 16:42:57

Baggs a trial has just gone on of a right wing extremeist who plotted the murder of an MP. Do you not think that posting a video ofBritish soldiers shooting at an MP's picture might make others imagine that this is not only acceptable but something to be desired?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Apr-19 16:43:50

Maryeliza I have already posted on that - Brigadier Perry can be found on many internet news outlets including ITV

trisher Wed 03-Apr-19 16:44:15

In the past British soldiers certainly raped and exactly the same excuses were made as have been used on here.

Anniebach Wed 03-Apr-19 16:44:18

Seems so GrannyGravy, so does Corbyn , not with Hamas and the IRA though, they are his friends

When trisher, ? ‘the past ‘ is a very long time

No.

maryeliza54 Wed 03-Apr-19 16:46:12

And you haven’t GG ha

petra Wed 03-Apr-19 16:46:15

I meant to add that this is the explanation. Exactly what GG13 said.

Anniebach Wed 03-Apr-19 16:47:05

Thank you petra

Lily65 Wed 03-Apr-19 16:47:20

Hamas, IRA , Corbyn all baddies. It really is so very simple.

Shooting at MPs pictures might be a good release of political frustration without causing any actual harm.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Apr-19 16:48:52

Petra thank you.

As a Conservative, leave voter who happens to support our Armed Forces GN is not an easy or pleasant place to be at the moment.

@Anniebach
Your comment is so indicative of your bias. I'm sometimes supportive of Corbyn's policies - perhaps that makes me a "Corbynite"?
Or, perhaps I just think it's wrong in this current volatile climate, to use a politician's head as target training as it could be taken as an endorsement of the violence - and death threats - that have recently been directed at some politicians, Tories among them.
And yes, I would be just as repulsed by this action if it had been May, Reece-Mogg, or any other politician whose policies and political outlook I don't agree with.
Not everyone who defends JC thinks he is "sainted" nor do they necessarily agree with him on all issues.
You simply don't like the man - fair enough - but to let your dislike cloud your jusgement to the extent that you would - as you did in an earlier post - attempt to justify this action is just very, very low.
