Bloody Trump, sticking his nose in!

The arrogance of the man angry

Alexa Sun 02-Jun-19 11:34:06

Abbey, you say "Why pick on Trump?" The office of potus confers a lot of power on to one individual. Potus is what Potus does. Trump has done unwise and inefficient, let alone immoral.

Alexa Sun 02-Jun-19 11:41:04

Of course there are ladies and gentlemen who like Trump . He is a handsome big tall chunk ! His physique is augmented by beautifully made suits, machismo, and the sort of self confidence that comes only with established social position. No wonder he is so adored .

Quizzer Sun 02-Jun-19 11:46:01

Hopefully the British politians will take his endorsements into consideration and as a result vote for OTHER candidates. Anyone approved by Trump is probably not fit to hold office.

Chinesecrested Sun 02-Jun-19 11:57:38

So he's arrogant, sexist and doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. We've welcomed heads of state from other countries who are much worse than he is, and who have done much worse things. Countries where they chop people's hands off, execute people, where the people live in abject poverty while the ruling classes enjoy more luxury than we can imagine, earned off the backs of the poor. Why do we discriminate?

ReadyMeals Sun 02-Jun-19 12:00:06

He was asked a question by a journalist. What was he meant to do just say "no comment" ? He's a human and as such he's allowed an opinion the same as the rest of us. It's not like he's grabbing May by the collar and shoving Johnson into no. 10. That would be interfering.

whywhywhy Sun 02-Jun-19 12:02:53

I don't like Trump one bit and I don't see what Brexit has to do with him. I had better not switch the TV on when he comes to visit or I might be tempted to smash it! Ugh! I pity the Queen who has to even be near him,

quizqueen Sun 02-Jun-19 12:19:53

I fully support Mr Trump and Mr Farage. I'm not sure whether I trust Boris to deliver a proper Brexit; that remains to be seen if he is voted leader of the Conservative Party. I have read that Michelle Obama can be quite nasty behind the scenes, the same for Meghan. There's usually good and bad in everyone, but what you see is what you get with Donald, whereas the two ladies seem to put on a facade.

Eloethan Sun 02-Jun-19 12:23:14

urmstongram It isn't just the "lefties" that have an issue with Trump and his racist, sexist language and his combative approach to other countries. But if you choose to characterise the issue in such a way, it could more easily be said that the ultra right are the people who admire Trump.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 02-Jun-19 12:30:48

qq why pick on the two woman rather than two politicians? I am not sure your comparison cuts the mustard.

Theoddbird Sun 02-Jun-19 12:31:38

Trump is singing the praises of Boris totally unaware of the comments Boris made about him a while back....

Jabberwok Sun 02-Jun-19 12:38:19

Trump IS awful, but he's been invited here so why insult him?!! We've entertained many dreadful heads of state over the years with courtesy and diplomatic good manners, far worse than Trump, so why resort to childish balloons and insulting protests? What difference will any of it make except to expose the people of this country for the hypocrites we are?!

Twig14 Sun 02-Jun-19 12:46:08

Calendar Girl is right it is a sweeping comment to say nobody over age 65 should be a leader.

Mcrc Sun 02-Jun-19 12:57:45

Not the greatest human being but our country is doing well. The Obamas were lovely but does that mean we thrived in that administration? That's when all of the racial animosity reared its head

Nanny41 Sun 02-Jun-19 12:58:22

I feel so sorry for the Queen, this little figure, with the huge pompous man walking beside her,but she will be taller than him with eloquence and diplomacy.

pinkjj27 Sun 02-Jun-19 13:24:49

Oh gosh, no leaders of anything over 65? That rules out Nelson Mandela, Mohandas Gandhi, Mother Tereasa, The queen, Winston Churchill, The Pope and Many Many more. Maybe we should give younger people a chance to lead, like Katie Price, The Kardashian, Chelsea Handler or Gordon Ramsay age 52. Or maybe not. I rest my case.

janipat Sun 02-Jun-19 13:34:16

pinkjj27 while I don't agree with the sentiment no leaders of anything over 65, your examples for over and under are hardly fair. There are plenty of young people who are capable of being good leaders. I'm sure we could find many examples of older leaders who don't warrant their positions.

Grammaretto Sun 02-Jun-19 13:35:59

I'd swap Trump and Farage for Michele and Meghan any day of the week QQ and please can we have a decent human being in exchange for bumbling Boris .

Gonegirl Sun 02-Jun-19 13:39:29

I'm with him wrt Boris. Think he'd make a great PM. The water cannon was a good idea too.

sarahellenwhitney Sun 02-Jun-19 13:40:05

The US elected Trump as they did Obama and others who visited, not always popular, at UK invitation.
Live with it.
However there will be many in the USA for whom UK opinions will not be foremost in their minds but that their president will be their for the sixth of June to honour the war dead and a day they would never again see their loved ones. Not just the U S but many other countries who gave up their sons and daughters in the fight for peace. So is it not possible for those so bitter ,and appear to hold such hatred that the US president is to be on our shores, just for once put their bitterness to one side and give thanks to the US people and the sacrifice they and many others made to keep Europe free .

pinkjj27 Sun 02-Jun-19 13:44:03

janipat of course there are examples of younger people who lead. I myself am not anywhere near 65 and I lead a sociology and politics department very well . I also teach many lovely young people who care about the environment and lead by example. I was just being ironic by using used ajust as a sweeping statement I was not ruling out all young sorry that you took offence to my effort to make a point .

BlueBelle Sun 02-Jun-19 14:24:36

Did someone call Trump handsome oh my word those two words don’t go together AT ALL
Saying it’s lefties who dislike him is so far off the mark and just an excuse to have a go at anyone no t supporting a right wing group
The only good thing about All three of these awful men is you know when people say they like them and they are good people that you are talking to a racist so you know exactly who to avoid because no one who is not a racist would see anything remotely good in any of them

Gonegirl Sun 02-Jun-19 14:27:37

I think he's quite nice looking. blush

Gonegirl Sun 02-Jun-19 14:28:23

But I'm not a racist Bluebell! shock

Gonegirl Sun 02-Jun-19 14:30:16

It was very funny when he was here before, and he didn't have a clue where he was supposed to go when he was inspecting the troops with the Queen. The Queen handled it so well. grin

Gonegirl Sun 02-Jun-19 14:30:38

I'm really looking forward to this visit. grin
