Of course Trump is by no means the only dubious character the Queen has had to welcome to our country during her long reign, but he should never have been foisted on her so early in his presidency. It only happened because Theresa May was so anxious to make the trade deals we would be desperate for if this brexit nonsense is not stopped.

I don't imagine the demonstrations will do much good, but ignoring Trump would do even less, as he is so vain that he probably would not notice he was being ignored.

Whatever you think of him he’s the only politician to actively try to put into practice the principles he was elected on. That, in itself, has to be a good thing. He is listening to the people who put him there, you can’t say that, hand on heart, about OUR politicians.
