Most of the Conservative MPs are intelligent , I must suppose. I am not being sarcastic, I truly dont know why they want Johnson.

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 17:53:13

Most people like Boris because he walks like a man, talks like a man and acts like a man

Well, that's different. confused How very strange....

You been watching too many old John Wayne films Chongolo?

Boris Johnson is many things, but he is not typical of many of the men I know, fortunately.

The whataboutery on here is getting tiresome and predictable. I have aired on here often enough without repeating it just what my opinion of BJ is, and that is based on facts, not opinions ( although the opinions of some of his previous employers are astonishing). I am angered and saddened that people are so desperate to bring this bloody cataclysm down on our heads that they will accept this morally deficient man. I am really surprised that so many think he is an acceptable price to pay. As for your comment Lilyflower , just who are those ‘liberal’, we know better than you elitists who have berated, insulted and belittled us for years ? I for one would prefer courteous, polite diplomatic dealings with other countries rather than piggish bullying, but hey ho, what do I know eh?

#leftwingpredictability

Bog standard predictability.

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 18:10:23

And Elvive with no opinions, but criticism of other posters or threads.

<yawn>

Your contribution is a fine example of bog standard predictability.

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 18:12:13

I do have opinions, of course I do?

But somehow I seem to able to add more than....Corbyn is a baddie or variations on said theme.

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 18:14:09

belittled us for years

Who are these people with the ability to belittle a whole nation?

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 18:17:48

I am angered and saddened that people are so desperate to bring this bloody cataclysm down on our heads that they will accept this morally deficient man.

Could you kindly point out the fans of Boris Johnson GillT57?

Don't most of us see his faults?

It has to be said that holes have been picked in all the MPs looking for this promotion. It happens whenever there are choices to be made. Dare I say that many present MPs from all parts of the chamber are morally deficient, or repugnant in some way. A few names spring to mind..

What about ------------? grin.

I'll leave others to fill in the blanks.

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 18:23:35

So, he has faults but we like him because he is a bit like Churchill?

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 18:24:28

oh and day 6 ....yawn and sigh

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 18:31:19

Who likes him 'because he is a bit like Churchill" Elvive? Is that your opinion or have you done a survey?

He is nothing like Churchill.

GillT57 Wed 19-Jun-19 18:35:38

Day6 there are many on here who think that BJ is the man for the job, would you like me to list their names? Let alone the MPs who are backing him.

Razzy Wed 19-Jun-19 19:40:14

Personally I prefer strong leaders. I hate wishy washy ones. I have more respect for someone who says it how it is. It is why I liked PMs like Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair to some extent, Winston Churchill and Boris Johnson. I didn't like John Major, Gordon Brown, David Cameron. I like the ones that are a bit rebellious, to shake everyone up a bit.

I am annoyed that the men voted the women out of contention at the first go. Typical of politicians. That annoys me. 50% of the country are women, let's have 50% of the politicians women.

Rebellion is why UKIP won seats in the past, and why the LibDems nearly got in.

At the moment the parties and leaders are dire, the Conservatives are a real old boys club, Theresa May, although I like her, only got in because they needed to sacrifice someone as they knew she'd never be able to persuade the other muppets to vote for Brexit. They wanted to say look at the woman who failed. Whilst they all patted themselves on the back.

For some strange reason the majority still want a bloke, and a bloke who talks a bit posh and is someone you could go down the pub with, is a winner to them.

Plenty of people, can't be bothered to scroll back.

I have read maybe 50 or 60 followers of BJ here. People love him don't they? He tells it straight. No nonsense with Junkers et al.

Callistemon Wed 19-Jun-19 19:54:32

Are there 50 or 60 people commenting on the political threads anyway, Elvive? let alone 50 or 60 who follow BJ.

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 20:00:03

Can't be bothered anymore. He's vile, as outlined by far more erudite posters than me. People see the past, good old Boris, and yes probably about 50/60 or so on here who love him ( out loud). Many are are silent.

Callistemon Wed 19-Jun-19 20:00:23

A bit of light relief for everyone from Brexit and the election of the party leader:

Raspy, I think there are different view of "strong" in relation to people. In fact, looking at your list, I know there are.

GracesGranMK3 Wed 19-Jun-19 20:10:01

Sorry - Razzy

I'm following Michael Gove (hoping he'll suck up Sajid's votes, as he will be next to go). I would like to see him in the last two, then I will vote for him. I AM disappointed by his cocaine admission, which shows very poor judgement, but he has always 'claimed' to be a Brexiteer. Boris is just a pretend recent one and Hunt is definitely a Remainer. Mr Gove has the most cabinet experience.

Glammy57 Wed 19-Jun-19 20:33:51

I’m with Trisher on this one! My only hope is that with the end of my Mother’s generation (true blue Tory), will come the demise of the Conservative party.

Anniebach Wed 19-Jun-19 20:48:56

I certaintly hope it will not be the end of the Conservative party. I hope they will rebuild and move from the far right to centre right as I hope the Labour Party will rebuild and move to centre left.

Jane10 Wed 19-Jun-19 20:49:04

In a way I'm glad that Rory Stewart is out. His time will come and it will be a few years time most likely after a while in opposition.
I can't understand why anyone would want the hot seat right now! Why not just let Boris crash and burn?

Hm999 Wed 19-Jun-19 21:15:51

With all the racism, sexism, homophobia etc that comes out Johnson's mouth, the way he treats his family, he wants to go back to the 1950s. And they want to go back to the 1950s.
(And if you listen to the some of the Tory party members/constituency chairs, they seem to be from a bygone era too. Apologies to any GNers who are members)

Nanniejc1 Wed 19-Jun-19 21:30:58

I just think that we have to give Boris a chance,he is the most likely one to get us out of the EU & if he fails the Conservatives will be finishes & all the people who voted to leave will vote for The Brexit Party .Its quite obvious that lots of the people on this forum are for staying in the EU but they need to accept that we voted to leave & I for one can’t wait!

Nanniejc1 Wed 19-Jun-19 21:39:11

Our political system needs a real shake up,ordinary people are sick of it,the way we pay millions in Overseas Aid yet many of our pensioners are living on the breadline, young families having to use food banks,we have people living on our streets, the NHS is struggling plus many more things that just aren’t right. It is time politicians put our own people first
