Most of the Conservative MPs are intelligent , I must suppose. I am not being sarcastic, I truly dont know why they want Johnson.

MaizieD Fri 21-Jun-19 14:48:43

MaxieD, Recognise sarcasm when it is spoonfed to you. You cited lettuce as a vital requirement...^

You've got the wrong person, catt. I didn't say anything about lettuce apart from in my response to you.

I am not the brightest in class,

Well, you said it....

Callistemon Fri 21-Jun-19 15:29:16

You obviously have no clue what I meant in my post, GGMK3 - strange, that, because I thought you like to come across as an intelligent woman.

You obviously don't read my posts, no matter as I rarely read yours, but I have said I wouldn't vote for Boris (even if I could) but nor would I ever vote for Corbyn.

Callistemon Fri 21-Jun-19 15:33:52

Thanks lemongrove - at least you seem to have grasped what I said! It is perfectly clear.
Yes I think his apparent eccentricity is carefully cultivated.

I was answering the OP.

No surprise because no one does, but Farage doesn’t trust Johnson.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Jun-19 15:50:04

I see Chris Davies - Corrupt Tory MP recalled. By-election to be held.

Elvive Fri 21-Jun-19 15:53:07

WW ,Farage doesn't trust BJ......I don't trust any of 'em

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Jun-19 16:11:59

Good news that the people of Brecon and Radnorshire have booted out their corrupt MP Chris Davies.

Jane Dodds, the Welsh Lib Dems’ parliamentary candidate for the constituency, said: “Thousands of residents across Brecon and Radnorshire have taken the chance to demand better than a Westminster politics that fails to take their concerns seriously.

“Now we have a golden opportunity to do things differently. The clear choice in this byelection is between the Conservatives, whose chaos and infighting is letting our communities down, and a better future for our area with the Welsh Lib Dems.”

I wonder how much more dishonest Boris Johnson would have to be for the people of Uxbridge to boot him out?

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Jun-19 16:21:28

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the seat go to the LDs. Only needs about 8-9% swing. They should walk it. Leaving Johnson’s majority even smaller. Good.

lemongrove Fri 21-Jun-19 16:23:54

I think it may well go to the Lib Dems too.

maxdecatt Fri 21-Jun-19 16:30:50

MazieD and the lettuce.
Refer to yours of 12 /6/19 at 12.26.30pm. 5th paragraph.

maxdecatt Fri 21-Jun-19 16:53:31

Now the EU are squabblng over who should succeed Juncker and Tusk and the convicted French (female) criminal that currently heads up the European Central bank. In the French courts she was convicted of money laundering....but what the hell, in the EU it is all crooks to the forefront...she kept her job! Well I never.

MaizieD Fri 21-Jun-19 17:06:37

And I refer to yours of Fri 21-Jun-19 11:02, maxde

maxdecatt Fri 21-Jun-19 18:40:22

MaizieD: I know you were responding to mine, that was the whole point of pointing out where you went on about your lettuce fetish.
Tell me, is your handle a play on the words from, "Oh, mairzy doats and dozy doats and little lambsy divey".
Easier to say if you simpl;y recite: "Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy". There is a play called "Little Lambs Eat Ivy". Set in a British boarding school in WW2 when evcacuee children arrive to stay. We performed it last term, It was great fun. I was the sportsmaster.

Elvive Fri 21-Jun-19 18:46:54

mad, are you quite well?

maxdecatt Fri 21-Jun-19 18:49:01

I could be better, I expect. Thank you for asking.

maxdecatt Fri 21-Jun-19 19:01:31

Do you ask because you think I am not well? I do not mind. My current health status is a closing chapter of a very short book and I am used to people being curious.

crystaltipps Fri 21-Jun-19 19:14:11

maxdecatt sorry not to reply earlier I was tending my allotment. As we import 60% of our food I doubt growing mustard and cress on our windowsill will eliminate the need for food imports. But hey, what’s wrong with spam fritters eh? I doubt if dear Boris will eliminate the need for cross channel ferries or lorries on our roads so I’m not signing up to his vision ( whatever that is - no one knows) for the sake of the environment, thank you. I am sure you realise the environmental cost of air freight is many times more than road or rail so all that stuff we have in our supermarkets from Kenya, Egypt etc ( thank you for telling me -I didn’t know (not) is there despite the awful EU stopping us from doing so ( they don’t) I don’t buy it but I do buy Italian tinned tomatoes, Prosecco, olive oil, lemons etc but hey, with climate change we don’t need them donwe?

GabriellaG54 Fri 21-Jun-19 19:15:54

I think we're suckers for punishment.
??

crystaltipps Fri 21-Jun-19 19:17:27

maxdecatt do you really think no one from any other countries visits the EU? You haven’t answered that one. Or that people from the U.K. will stop visiting?

Elvive Fri 21-Jun-19 19:19:21

You might be onto something there G. Naughty , naughty children should be made to stand in the corner or have a good thrashing.

Nanny will be along later with your favourite nursery pudding and a good dose of castor oil.

POGS Fri 21-Jun-19 19:29:19

Sigh

Elvive Fri 21-Jun-19 19:32:34

What does that mean? Are you actually sighing or what?

maxdecatt Fri 21-Jun-19 19:42:10

Of course there wil be continued tourism in both directions. It will only become difficult if the EU decide to make it difficult. The UK has already said that all EU citizens rights will be protected...but, quite notably, the EU has not said that the rights of UK citizens in EU countries (living or visiting) will be respected.
