Actually, one of the “Progressive” women he’s referring to is an American citizen who was born in Somalia.
A basket case of a country no wonder so many are leaving if they can via wicked people traffickers.

Is this the face of fascism?

Farage said that anyone in UK civil service or military who doesn’t believe in Brexit should be removed. My jaw dropped. This is outrageous. It is fascistic to apply a single issue to determine “loyalty” as if we were in a war of religion. Shame on him.
ug I thought your posts were always reasonably benign, although of a different opinion to my own.
I no longer think that.
a basket case?
That’s probably because I like Trump WWmk3 and you don’t.
No one can accuse Donald J Trump of being unpatriotic.
He's as American as motherhood and apple pie. Trump was elected on a set of promises that go against liberal norms such as building a border wall and deporting illegal aliens.
The liberal left don't like it but the way to win the next election is by winning the argument. Kicking Donald J Trump only makes him stronger and more popular.
Urmstongran how do you feel about the fact that Trump hasn't actually delivered on any of his election promises?
motherhood? That is an American thing?
Yes, a basket case.
“Somalia ranks among the world’s most corrupt countries. Insecurity is also a major issue; the ongoing instability greatly restricts business.
Corrupt government officials tolerate illegal activities in return for bribes. Dysfunctional institutions facilitate an environment of lawlessness, and the absence of any form of regulatory framework hinders prospects of economic competitiveness.
Business is based on patronage networks, and tight monopolies dominate the market. Somalia’s Provisional Constitution criminalizes several forms of corruption (including abuse of office, embezzlement and bribery); however, implementation is non-existent.
The governing elite is continuously involved in allegations of embezzlement of public funds from the already meager Somalian coffers. Finally, bribery is commonplace in all sectors, and procurement contracts frequently involve corruption.

Surely even GN liberalists couldn’t defend this country’s ethics?
mk2 sorry.
And whatever those perceive as his failings - yet likely to secure a second term (ooh horrors!) - Why do so many people want to get into the USA then?
Why should anyone think that someone whose parents left Somalia for the US - presumably to get away from the corrupt regime - has exactly the same kind ot principles or lack of them as a country in which they were not even born? If she is in Congress then she can be assumed to be working for what she believes is best for the US.
Has Trump considered that if EVERYONE in the States whose parents were from somewhere else were to return there, the country would be an empty wilderness, inhabited only by the remnants of descendants of the original native inhabitants.
He would be in Germany, up for election against Frau Merkel. What do you reckon his chances would be?
Good, quite possibly after Mütte opened Germany’s borders so extensively. That wasn’t a popular decision there.
DT puts America first. Their economy is booming. I wish Mrs May had half his leadership.
Apparently one of those Congresswoman used the phrase "Let's impeach that Mother******" - so Trump returning the vitriol is no surprise.
You use such language after getting elected and against a man known for his heightened insecurities and that's what you'll get in response
Elegran or he could, of course, be in Scotland up against Sturgeon and turning it all into one big golf course.
On second thoughts, Scotland is much too small for him.
He's the son of immigrants who has married immigrants (two at least) so can no self-awareness whatsoever.
Good God, Ug. You think that someone with 'heightened insecurities' is a good person to have as POTUS ?

A man known to have "heightened insecurities" is at the head of a very large, powerful nation and has his twitchy finger on the red button which would send us all (ALL!!!) to Kingdom Come via a lingering agonising death?
Urmstongran are you quite sure you are not stringing us along with a load of - - falsehoods - - about your devotion to him and your certainty that he is a Good Thing for the US, and hence for the rest of the world?
Urm I find your posts re the tweets of Trump really sad. They seem to express such uncritical admiration of him and in order to do that, such unfair criticism of the women involved.
Urmstongran - re today 9.17.16 - I think that you could subsititute the wonderful US of A in many of your sentences re corruption, etc etc.
No one can accuse Donald J Trump of being unpatriotic.
I certainly can UG. Surely to be patriotic means you support your whole country and all its citizens. In the case of the USA, everyone one is or is descended from, recent immigration unless you are one of America's First People, the Native Americans.
I cannot see how racism can be compatible with being patriotic and I just wonder why anyone admires a white supremacist.
Regarding my comment about his ‘insecurities’ I try to be measured in my comments and not elevate DT to deity status! It’s obvious he has issues. But he’s very popular. I think he’ll win a second term.
Of course Trump is trolling. First he wants to divert attention from the ICE raids. Second he hopes to split moderate Dems and drive them leftwards where he believes they are less electable. Politically he is surprisingly adept!
Somalia was invaded by Britain, France and Italy, so various parts of the country became colonies of those countries. Later, it became a British Protectorate, gaining independence (I think) in the 1940's, like to many other former British colonies.
I'm not suggesting we all get into a row about the wickedness/power of the British Empire but we also can't ignore the devastation left behind in so many former British colonies.
Somalia is lawless, and doesn't have a stable government. I don't agree it's ok to refer to Somalia as a basket case. But I expect I'd be seen as some kind of over sensitive lefty by Mr T and his supporters. The instability, poverty and lawlessness seen in so many African countries may be possibly be found to have links in colonisation but of course, that isn't something Mr T would accept. He'd no doubt put it down to ethnicity and a determination not to make Africa great again.
His latest tweets about the four congresswomen are par for the course but that does nothing to diminish the fact they're shocking, disgraceful and outrageous to say the least.
To have someone with his personality difficulties as Potus leaves the world a much less safe place.
Urmstongran, you may see Trump as politically adept. Sadly, he's running America like he ran his various businesses, using the same bullying , offensive language and tactics. We shouldn't forget his businesses didn't all prosper.
Apparently one of those Congresswoman used the phrase "Let's impeach that Mother******" - so Trump returning the vitriol is no surprise.
Again, UG, you surprise me. This man is the leader of a large and powerful country yet you feel it is okay that he retaliates when someone says something he doesn't like.
What if he retaliates when another free country doesn't go the way he tells them to and presses the red button. Will that leaves you "unsurprised" too or will it depend on where they come from, what colour they are or what religion they follow? Is nuking a country you consider to be a "basket case" going to be okay, just as, it appears, his prejudice against people of that origin is?
But what is needed in a head of state is not someone who is "politically adept" at grasping and keeping power for himself and his friends, it is someone who cares for all those living in his country and under his leadership, and who doesn't look after only his own by plundering the rest of the globe and ignoring the problems faced by the whole of humanity.
"Politically adept" people may have perfect control of manipulating people, but that doesn't make them good at steering them in a good direction.
Hi behaviour is dreadful. Look at this week, there's this example and has comments/behaviour towards our US Ambassador.
Urmonstongran your support of Brexit I can understand as you had fallen for the lies and misinformation thought it was the right thing for you, but your support of blatant racism from Trump is frankly, pathetic. What about if one of these democratically elected women told him to go back to his 'basket case' of a country ie Scotland? Do you honestly support everyone in the cabal of Trump,Farage,Tice,Bannon etc? Think they are all great guys? Seriously?
Just for the record - it was me who described Somalia as a basket case country - not Trump.
