I am livid to see this and well done to Caroline Lucus for calling him out on it.

I wonder how his fans here regard this behaviour?

Imagine a female, possibly even an overweight one ( !) behaving in such a manner or a left winger or Diane Abbott or just about anybody really!! It is quite unbelievable.

Boosgran Wed 04-Sept-19 14:33:43

There you go again Lessimore with your ‘stupid sarcastic sense of humour’ Pathetic- you said it!

Lessismore Wed 04-Sept-19 14:44:58

The situation is pathetic. What should be one of the most highly respected individuals in high office in this country behaving like a complete fool.

Ghastly person, totally out of touch with people and reality.

Boosgran Wed 04-Sept-19 14:49:26

Oh get a grip. As GG13 said there are bigger issues to worry about other than JRM slouching on a bench.

lemongrove Wed 04-Sept-19 14:50:40

Yes sunseeker what you say is true, and it doesn’t bother me one iota if MP’s slouch or have forty winks at certain times, but it’s bound to send the media into a frenzy.

Labaik Wed 04-Sept-19 15:07:55

I would have more respect for some people if they had the decency to admit when one of their beloved right wing politicians behaved appallingly instead of constantly defending everything they do...his behaviour was disgraceful last night. I think it's shocked both him and Johnson that people are now seeing them for what they actually are and not just lovable eccentrics.

Dinahmo Wed 04-Sept-19 15:14:50

Perhaps he was just tired, poor lamb. After all, he has been working very hard over the last few days.

eazybee Wed 04-Sept-19 15:16:39

MP stretches out on bench.
And....?

Barmeyoldbat Wed 04-Sept-19 15:18:46

I hope Nanny has a word with him when he gets home about showing respect.

KatyK Wed 04-Sept-19 15:21:40

Awful man.

Grandma70s Wed 04-Sept-19 15:47:48

I must be exceptionally charitable, because I just wondered if he was feeling unwell.

Grandad1943 Wed 04-Sept-19 15:57:30

Should Jacob Reece Mogg had carried out his action (or non-action as it turned out) within a management or training briefing of a commercial company he would have found himself today with disciplinary procedures being brought against him.

Parliament should be treated with respect by all who are elected to the privilege of representing the electorate who placed them there.

The standards that those who work in commercial organisations have to uphold should also be matched by those who represent them in this nations legislating establishments.

Hm999 Wed 04-Sept-19 16:00:23

Boosgran, I do remember Corbyn saying 'stupid people' at Tory plans for a no-deal Brexit last December. Bearing in mind the unbiased nature of the media, you will see not one lip reader could be found to say indisputably what Corbyn said.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 04-Sept-19 16:03:42

It wasn’t just Mogg body language it was the arrogant sarcasm he used and the disrespect he showed to members I& his own party, let alone the opposition. The mans a menace.

Boosgran Wed 04-Sept-19 16:04:58

HM999 No, the clip was shown over and over and he definitely said stupid woman. But IF he did say stupid people that’s ok is it? Look it up for yourself if you can be bothered.

Anniebach Wed 04-Sept-19 16:05:57

Bercow showed disrespect when he named the school a MP’s children attend ?

Boosgran Wed 04-Sept-19 16:08:37

youtu.be/1edfyaJ4YrA See for yourself Hm999 looks like woman to me

Lessismore Wed 04-Sept-19 16:46:09

Is this the level of " debate ".

A person who occupies an extremely high position behaves in a very poor way and all we can manage is " Ah but Corbyn said...."
Bercow said.....

or " I don't mind if MP's go to sleep "

lemongrove Wed 04-Sept-19 16:49:01

We’re not in a debating chamber Lessismore just a forum
For our opinions.

Joelsnan Wed 04-Sept-19 16:51:01

Grandad1943
Under what policy would he be disciplined?

GillT57 Wed 04-Sept-19 16:54:45

It is just a teeny bit pathetic when Brexit/ERG supporters feel they have to defend every little thing that their heros do, even if in ordinary life it would be appallingly rude. You do know that Phillip Lee a GP), the Tory who walked to the Lib Dem bench yesterday said that the final straw for him was listening to JRM sneeringly dismiss medical personnel during an interview on LBC ? The man is a ghastly, rude human being, irrespective of his politics, his Brexit stance or anything else. He is paid to represent his constituents, they must be so proud.

GillT57 Wed 04-Sept-19 16:57:45

JRM constituents voted 51.63% to remain, hardly a hot bed of Brexit, would give a couple of back teeth to see him lose his seat.

Firecracker123 Wed 04-Sept-19 17:03:26

Lee's constituency voted Leave and now they have an Undemocratic Lib Dem representing them.

Boosgran Wed 04-Sept-19 17:04:22

Lessimore You’ve reduced this ‘debate’ with your sneering, sarcastic comments to anyone who disagrees with you. Calling the person in question ‘ghastly’ and a ‘fool’ that’s hardly reasonable debate.

Grandad1943 Wed 04-Sept-19 17:04:23

Lessismore, in regard to your above post, I certainly do object to an elected Member of Parliament acting as Jacob Reece Mogg did yesterday.

Part of the tax that I pay (both direct and indirect) go towards that man's palimentery salary and expenses. In that, he said should very much respect me and all other taxpayers in the United Kingdom and carry out the duties the Electorate invested in him to the best of his abilities at all times.

Not go to sleep on the job.
Disgusting.
