Dyffryn The Guardian is a Labour supporting paper. Of course they will publish an article like this, in order make people like you react as you have.
I am afraid what Jo Swinson has to do is submit herself to the image makers in the way that Jeremy Corbyn has. See any picture of him now and it is clear he now goes to a really good hairdresser, is wearing bespoke suits, shirts and ties that go well with his har and complexion and altogether putting on an appearance of being capable of holding his own an international stage. Pity that what he says and does or doesn't do undermines him.
Jo Swinson would benefit from a good expensive haircut, modulating her voice and getting a stylist in. Lib Dems would probably poll another 5%. Nicola Sturgeon always looks the part. Jo Swinsn looks like a researcher who accidentally found herself on the stage when she opened the wrong door.
Nowadays, like it or not, these things count. I appreciate Boris is the exception to the rule, but I suspect that his time in office may not be much longer than TMs, if he wins the election and begins to be seen on the international scene regularly. His pulled through a hedge backwards look and total disorganisation will soon pall on both Tory MPs and the Tory faithful and internationally he will seen to be a bigger buffoon than Trump. Whatever else we may say (and we do) Trump is always well groomed and has good posture.
