They just think differently to remainers, that's all.
They see opportunities not obstacles.

I have always said that if there was another referendum the country would vote to leave again. We have voted to leave the EU three times!
2016 Referendum - the country voted to leave
2017 General Election - Hung parliament and a bit of a hiccup due to Theresa May running a poor campaign.
2019 European Election - the country voted to leave when the Brexit Party turned the country Brexit blue.
2019 General Election - the country voted to leave with a massive Conservative majority.
How many more times does the country need to say we want to leave the EU?
Ps and the couple of people I mentioned also care.

I agree with your comment GagaJo that I worry for my grandson though.
I too worry for my grandchildren, but not about Brexit. I worry about the effects of social media, online pornography, online grooming, online bullying, graphic violence in games, films and TV. These things can reach them in their bedrooms and affect their mental health. Much more likely to damage their lives than Brexit.
And of course, once we've left, we can trade with China, a country which has thousands of Muslims in detention centres and uses forced labour from the foreign sections of their prisons to pack cards for Tescos.
We can also trade with Australia, a country whose PM is a climate change denier and disappears on holiday whilst parts of his country are on fire. Whose firemen are nearly all volunteers. Apparently it doesn't have a paid fire fighting force. one can only hope that money will be found to counsel those firefighters traumatised by what they've seen and heard.
I would like to know what those two countries want to buy from us?
My problem with Brexit is we were never told the facts and democracy depends on education information intelligence all of which were missing imho. We were not told that our country depends on income generated by finance sector ( a trillion a day EU clearing passed through London) in London which is currently departing for Paris Frankfurt! We were not told that real cost of EU is 6 billion pa. We were not told Russia wants us out to protect their money from new EU tax evasion laws coming in Jan 2020. We were not told US companies are depending on new income from us! We were not told some pharmaceuticals will disappear because of extra cost NHS won’t pay. Not to mention we may lose NHS ! Trump asked hundreds times why should people get health for free ? We were not told our illegal immigration is not from EU it’s Albanian African etc. We were not told that although we get our fishing back we don’t have processing we rely on French so it will rot. We weren’t told France will let thousands of immigrants held back in Calais to UK now. We weren’t told Cummings spent 7 yrs in Russia and is more a Rusky than Corbyn ever was. We weren’t told that Bozo has a history of telling lies through his back teeth and doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Or that he thinks he should have four wives. Or that he is currently making it illegal to defend Palestine . So much for democracy !
FC61 Most of the topics you mention were regularly mentioned in the many threads about the EU by several Remainers, several times. They were invariably shouted down by the Leavers who possibly didn't want to know them.
FC61
I think you will find that thousands, even millions of people who voted to leave and also voted conservative ( and not necessarily for Boris) were very aware of all your points.
The question is: whether you believe them. It might surprise you to know that even 'Workington man' digs a little deeper than the tabloid headings to find the truth/lies.
So what is "Workington Man (and Woman)" looking forward to in the future?
Where is Workington Man/Woman going to find the truth behind the lies?
Dinahmo Australia does have a paid Fire Service. They were fighting the fires sending over helicopters constantly when I was there recently.
There are over 6,800 paid firefighters in NSW and nearly as many volunteer firefighters.
It is such a vast country, though, that volunteers are an essential part of the fire fighting force out bush, they are the Rural Fire Service, who know exactly what is required of them.
They have also been joined by some professional volunteers from Canada to help them.
What have we done for a member of our Commonwealth? Have we sent anyone to help in this disaster?
I agree, the Australian PM is a disgrace.
It's their problem. Apparently, Workington has twice the national level of unemployment, so I guess the town will benefit hugely from investment in new industry and infrastructure (cough cough). I'm not sure what happens if all these wonderful opportunities don't materialise, but fingers crossed they do.
Actually, Dinahmo, you using the disaster in Australia to score a political point about Brexit has left me feeling rather sick.
Let’s hope you’re still laughing after a few years.

Trade talks, a prediction: (courtesy of @RussInCheshire)
UK - We don't like our deal
EU - Why not?
UK - We only get 95% of what we want
EU - It only gives us 95% too
UK - We want a new deal that gives us 100% of what we want
EU - But that means we only get 90% of what we want
UK - Yes, but we don't care. We hate you.
EU - Bit rude
UK - We elected people to go to your meetings specifically to say we hate you
EU - We noticed
UK - So we want a new deal, and we want the deal in 11 months or we cancel our existing deal
EU - Wait.. what?
UK - We've put it into law: you give us 100% of what we want in 11 months, or we walk away with 0% of what we want
EU - Erm... suits us!
UK - Wait, what?
EU - Perfect, do it. Ealk away
UK - No, hold on, wait: you have to negotiate, so Boris can win
EU - Why? Right now you have 95% of perfect and we have 95% of perfect. If we negotiate, you get 100% and we get 90%.
UK - That's right
EU - But if we don't negotiate, we still have 95%... and you have 0%
UK - But... no, you're not meant to say that
EU - And if we don't have a deal, we don't have to put up with you sending people to our meetings to say you hate us
UK - The Daily Mail made us do it and then ran away!
EU - So we'll just sit it out for 11 months
UK - Fine, we'll go and make a great deal with the US
US - Yo suckers
UK - Could we have a trade deal please, sir?
US - Sure thing. We want 100% of everything, plus 51% controlling share in the NHS, and you get, let's see... 60% of what you have now
UK - Not good enough
US - Bye
UK - What?
US - Bye. Talks are over. Bye
UK - But we haven't got a deal!
US - We are 26% of world trade, making deals with EU (20%) and China (17%). We don't need your 1.8%.
UK - But we really need a deal, the EU outsmarted us
US - We know. Some of us can read. Not Trump, obviously, but the rest of us. Try India
UK - Hi India, remember us?
India - Oh fuck, these guys again
UK - We want a trade deal
India - And we want to vastly increase the number of Indians who can live in the UK
UK - We can't do that. Turns out we're, like, properly racist
India - That is brand new information!!
UK - So can we have a deal?
India - Sure. Join the queue
UK - Who's in the queue?
India - USA, China, Brazil, EU, Korea, Canada, Australia... basically everybody. We're kind of a big deal now.
UK - So you'll be ready to negotiate in, what: 11 months?
India - ha ha ha ha ha
UK - What did we say?
India - 11 months? Try 11 years. This shit takes ages, bro
UK - But we had a timetable of 11 months with the EU
India - And how did that work out?
UK - erm...
India - Try China
UK - Can we please have a trade deal?
China - Sorry, who are you?
UK - We're Great Britain
China - Great, you say?
UK - Well... once
China - And what do you want?
UK - A trade deal worthy of our status
China - You've got one
UK - No we haven't
China - Yes you have. With the EU. You don't need to renegotiate your trade deals: you need to reassess your status. Cos you're not a mighty nation, you're a small, wet, heavily indebted island on the edge of a globally important trading bloc... which you left, you goons
UK - So, what do you suggest?
China - You already know
...
EU - Hello again. Here to rejoin?
UK - Yes, on the same terms as before.
EU - Oh, I don't think so. Say goodbye to your rebate, hello to the Euro, and bonjour to the Schengen area. You are so dumb.
UK - We hate you!
HootyMcOwlface - well you know what they say "there's many a true word said in jest". Lets just hope that in this case, that is not what will happen, but I won't hold my breath!

Are you sure it wasn't the content of what she wrote that made you feel sick? Because it is sickening that we have abandoned this fledgling European community which was both our safety and our moral rightness as traders.
Callistemon thank you for correcting me about the paid fire service. I was watching an interview with an Australian this morning when she said the fire fighters were all volunteers.
I notice that you haven't said that my comments about China made you feel sick.

It was your unfounded critixism of Australian fire services used as an anti-Brexit remark which I did not think was appropriate under the circumstances.
I found it really sickening when we abandoned Commonwealth countries in favour of the EU Alexa.
Surely we could have continued trade with both and allowed Commonwealth citizens the same rights as those afforded EU citizens.
Don't we trade with the Commonwealth? At all. Not even a teeny bit?
Labaik
Yes we do trade with our commonwealth friends, but we pay a tariff.
My OH orders from Australia and America. The Australian tariffs are higher than the US.
So we will definitely get a free trade deal with these countries after 31st January...
Labaik
Who knows? Maybe we will, maybe we won't, maybe we will get a trade deal that sets lower tariffs as now set by the eu.
But we'll definitely be better off than we are now then, surely...
Labaik
If we get free trade deals or deals with lower tariffs ( outside the eu) then yes we will.
Trade talks with the eu are a completely different matter.
At the moment, trade between the UK and Australia is miniscule. What exactly do you think the Australians will want to buy from the UK and what will we want to buy from Australia with lower tariffs? Given that Australia is 12,000 miles away, there's a limit to what kind of trade could ever be realistic.
Callistemon Maybe you should reread my post about the Australian fire service. There was no criticism, implied or otherwise of that service. My criticism was of the Australian PM and by extension, the government.
My comment about counselling (if you thought that was a criticism) was because many of the fire fighters have been traumatised by the sights and sounds of the animals burning in the fires. And also because of the deaths of and severe injuries to fire fighters.
Back in November it was reported that 1000 koala bears had died in the bush fires. I have read any more recent figures.
