In January Boris Johnson claimed he did not mention Turkey during the referendum after it was suggested he falsely claimed 80 million Turks would come to Britain unless the UK left the EU.

In fact, he co-signed a letter stating that “the only way to avoid having common borders with Turkey is to vote Leave and take back control”. The Vote Leave campaign also produced a poster reading: “Turkey (population 76 million) is joining the EU”, adding “David Cameron wants Turkey to join the EU. How will our NHS cope?”.

Mr Johnson, whose great-grandfather was the Ottoman politican Ali Kemal, was also quoted as saying “I am very pro-Turkish but what I certainly can’t imagine is a situation in which 77 million of my fellow Turks and those of Turkish origin can come here without any checks at all. That is mad – that won’t work.”

Mr Johnson’s Turkish cousin commented: “He doesn’t strike me as being very honest about his views.”

He has lied to every woman in his life. He even lied to the queen. How can anyone ever believe a word he says?

Now if I was to refer to him as a lying, duplicitous, posh, rich Tory who used to be a member of a club which burned banknotes in front of homeless people- that's bashing!!!!

What a sad state of affairs when what used to be shocking, and should be shocking, is considered "boring" by those who no longer care about the truth.

I think Johnson will last five years. He has a huge majority and a government and parliamentary party (and HoL) full of yes-people.

Whether or not he wins a GE in five years depends on whether there is a trustworthy and credible alternative - the current Labour Party or something else.

It doesn't matter how much mud is thrown at him because it just slides off. People just shrug their shoulders and claim it's a better than a neo-hippy Marxist. Sorry, but that's the reality and I doubt very much whether people's emotions will be changed.

No one is preventing people from posting Johnson's achievements, are they? Or have I missed something. Thus far he has won an election [hurrah] had a holiday, is taking us out of the EU on 31st and is giving us a Brexit that cannot be scrutinised by parliament. Oh and, I understand we're not to mention Brexit after 31st, although not sure what will happen if we do. Have our tongues cut out, perhaps. We do live in interesting times do we not....

Boris Johnson has pledged to raise the amount paid by NHS workers born overseas to use the NHS by a third.
That means a health professional from abroad with a partner & 2 children will have to pay £2,500 a year - on top of paying taxes and national insurance from their salaries - just to use the service that they themselves have come to the UK to provide us with.
With a desperate shortage of 10,000 doctors & 43,000 nurses you would be forgiven for thinking the conservative government is either incredibly stupid or guilty of deliberately sabotaging the NHS.
How will Johnson provide the NHS with the 50,000 nurses and 6,000 doctors he promised, whilst simultaneously making policy that will deter overseas health professionals from taking the available jobs?

If Keir Starmer isn't elected leader of the Labour Party I'm cancelling my membership. The ultra lefties have wrecked the party: their opinions have no relevance for most people and have encouraged the traditional Labour voters to opt for Boris & Co. Does anyone really think his government really cares about state education and the health service?

Sadly too long but he is on shaky ground. In the General Election the Tories got 45% of the poll and around a third of the electorate did not vote therefore only around 30% of the electorate voted for him. Only time will time tell but if he becomes unpopular the Tories are quite likely to ditch him.

Under PR they would only have 294 seats as opposed to the 356 they have. Under PR the voting pattern may well have been different. When Brexit hits problems Boris will be vulnerable from all sides.
