Someone, whether it’s Meghan or the American publicity company H+M have employed, clearly have no idea how the royal family operates. It is not about me, me, me, but about service, dignity, and support to country and to a variety of charities. H+M have absolutely NOT gone to Canada for privacy, if that were the case, this awful selling of royalty via Prince Harry wouldn’t have happened.
JP Morgan is a hugely profitable company which can undoubtedly pay mega bucks for the kudos of a royal speaker. The ethics of JP Morgan are debatable. The fact that this has happened, and will continue to happen, is precisely why royalty do not sell themselves to the highest bidder, but instead receive monies from the state. This is Americanisation at it’s worst in my opinion.
If H+M wanted to live a quiet and private life, they could have done so in Britain or indeed in Canada. They could have bought a farm for example, and created employment for workers much as in the Duchy of Cornwall. They could have lived quietly off the profits. Meghan NEVER wanted to live quietly, whatever Harry wanted. She clearly wanted to tread the boards of celebrity life, making mega bucks.

You just don’t get it do you Annie. When someone tries to say ‘don’t be so unkind’ that includes Meghan. You cannot accuse someone, like suzie who is trying to stick up for the subject of people’s spleen.

The utterly relentless thread after thread post after post criticising MM, based on gossip, misinformation, and sheer prejudice and bias are some of the best examples of hate and bitterness ever seen on GN.

maddy don’t believe everything you read in the media. You seem to be under the impression that Harry, who fought in two missions in Afghanistan, against the advice of his family, is a weak and easily led man. I think not. But what I do believe is that certain of the media (eg Piers Morgan) have got it in for his wife. And he, being the man that he is, is having none of it.

I thought Meghan was wonderful when she first arrived, loved seeing them together on tv on their Australian tour, was pleased when the two of them and Wills and Katherine announced their intentions for charity and thought the four of them would make a great contribution to public life and charity in this country and overseas. So much promise.

But I am disappointed with what has happened and it has happened so quickly.
I thought this was all due to press intrusion but as they do appear to be courting publicity already I wonder if that was an excuse.

It was all about intrusion after all the paparazzi practically hounded his mother to death. So what is wrong with him taking control of his own publicity rather than be at the mercy of the media rabble?

Publicity is a double-edged sword.

We see what happens when someone tries to control the media for their own ends as someone else tried very recently.

I’ve been ‘lurking’ for ages but I’m another who is thoroughly fed up with all the relentless criticism ofMeghan. None of us really know her or her opinions or aims and I’m not at all surprised that they wanted to get away from all the negative publicity.

His mother used the media for years, she chose to leave the

This must be difficult for him to accept but it is the truth , her
choice that night left him without her.
