It’s said as a precaution, not an emergency. I hope he recovers. Who will lead?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 06-Apr-20 14:33:37

Thanks lucky .

Could he not have been given that at home? He must have good care?

Peardrop50 Mon 06-Apr-20 14:34:17

I sincerely hope that our Prime Minister recovers quickly and completely. I feel he has been doing a good job of rallying and giving us hope. He has left the detail to the experts which is the right thing to do.
Suziewoozie get a grip love and calm down.

My fear is that MrJ is very ill. He would have had best available care at home. I can't imagine oxygen wasn't available. I don't know if a ventilator could be provided at Downing Street.
He must be in need of the highest level of medical care, including specialist equipment.
It's no secret that I'm not a Conservative supporter. Criticisms of their policies over 9 years leaving us with poor resources are for another thread/or day.
This country needs stability. In the absence of Ken Clarke or Rory Stewart, who other than Boris Johnson to lead the government. I hope my worst fears are ill founded and that the information from Downing Street about precautionary actions are correct

As I understood he was taken in to have a few tests - I’m not sure he could have those tests at Number 10. He was said he was having tests on lung capacity, heart and liver and kidneys.

I wish anybody and everybody who is ill with any disease a speedy recovery, but if you think Boris isn’t getting preferential treatment then you are sadly mistaken.

Millie22 Mon 06-Apr-20 14:53:02

Perhaps the only way to get him to rest was to take him into hospital. He has certainly looked quite poorly. I hope he is better very soon as I think he's doing a really good job in very difficult circumstances.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 06-Apr-20 14:53:40

Well he should be he is the PM!!

Hi all, we've had a number of reports about personal attacks on this thread. Please can you keep the conversation about the issues rather than attacking individual posters - we all need support at this time. If you have any concerns please report to us directly. flowers

mrsgreenfingers56 Mon 06-Apr-20 15:07:42

Yes, we do need Boris at present and all wish him a fully recovery especially with new baby on the way.

mary51 Mon 06-Apr-20 15:14:16

I wish him all the best and hope he gets well soon.

Grandad1943 Mon 06-Apr-20 15:16:32

I believe I have a reputation of being left-wing on this forum and often speak out in support of the trade unions and the left of the Labour Party and movement.

However, this is a thread in regard to the severe health condition that the Prime Minister of this country is facing, and in that, all should be hoping and wishing that Boris Johnson overcomes these obviously serious problems and quickly makes a full recovery.

To discuss anything else, especially his politics and the politics of the country, is I feel in very bad taste and completely out of order.

oscaro11 Mon 06-Apr-20 15:29:52

Well said

vegansrock Mon 06-Apr-20 15:30:57

Well obviously everyone wishes him well so it’s not a discussion is it? The implications for the government of his illness can surely be discussed?

bootie41 Mon 06-Apr-20 15:45:27

Boris I wish you to get well soon, we need you I believe carrie is recovered now

Grandad1943 Mon 06-Apr-20 15:58:13

There is a whole section on this forum labelled News & politics on which I and others visit and post on a very regular basis.

It is there that the implications of what in regards to politics the hospitalisation of Boris Jonson holds for Britain, and in that this whole Coronavirus crisis should be discussed.

This thread was began to purely report and discuss the health of this countries Prime Minister who may well be now fighting for his very life.

So, I wish Boris Johnson every desire for a return to full health and my thoughts are with his partner and family at this time.

FarNorth Mon 06-Apr-20 16:04:23

Boris Johnson's politics, and the stance taken by him and his government, may well have contributed to his current illness.
There's no reason why we can't say so on this thread, if we think that is the case.
Do you expect a whole thread of people saying 'Get well soon'?

JenniferEccles Mon 06-Apr-20 16:04:50

Boris’s spokesman has said that he isn’t on oxygen, that it was misinformation.

That is good to hear.

FarNorth Mon 06-Apr-20 16:05:21

Ps. I do hope that he gets well.

vegansrock Mon 06-Apr-20 16:09:34

This is in the news and politics section Grandad, it wasn't just started to send good wishes, which goes without saying doesn't it?, but to discuss the implications if you read the OP.

Jabberwok Mon 06-Apr-20 16:16:14

Oh well said GD 1943. We may have political differences, but from one human being to another it's nice that we can wish anyone, and I mean anyone, struck down with this awful virus, however it happened, a speedy recovery.

etheltbags1 Mon 06-Apr-20 16:21:39

Get well soon. I really hope he's going to be ok. I agree he has looked poorly lately. Hope his girlfriend and baby are ok too. I got fed up with the news so I stopped watching it but now I'm back watching just to see if Boris is getting better. Scary times for all of us.

FoghornLeghorn Mon 06-Apr-20 16:26:06

I hope the nursing staff remember that Boris and his pals voted against giving them a pay rise not too long ago.

Criacon. What do you mean by that? You hope that they ignore his care needs? That they abuse him as he lays in his hospital bed? Fortunately, the vast majority of nurses are professional enough to treat all patients equally.

Musicgirl Mon 06-Apr-20 16:43:31

I have been praying for Boris Johnson. I think he has handled this crisis admirably but he is obviously much more poorly than we were originally led to believe. I hope he is able to get a good rest and let other members of the cabinet take charge until he has recovered enough to take over once again.
