Not about your decision to cut and run from your country and family.
Not about bleating that you feel guilty about isolating in a multi-million pound mansion in LA during Lockdown.
Not about suggesting to frazzled parents that they should celebrate the moment, rolling around the floor in hysterics. confused

But....When you made that call asking for money generated by your wedding to be used for feeding children during the pandemic, are you really sure it was the Archbishop of Canterbury who picked up the phone?? grin

Captain Mainwaring would have summed it all up: "Stupid boy!"

Gagagran Sat 18-Apr-20 11:53:30

I don't believe these are Harry and Meghan. I think they are the look alikes they have used before.

cupaffull Sat 18-Apr-20 13:29:36

Please don't get drawn into arguments lovely people....don't give them headspace.
The pair simply aren't worth expending any time or energy on. RIP....

coggie Sat 18-Apr-20 13:59:06

No, I want to argue about the dogs belonging to 2 people I have never met, will never meet and don't care about. One dog is a bit fat, the other is a bit naughty. Discuss.

Chestnut Sat 18-Apr-20 16:01:58

I just wish H&M would get on with their lives without us having to see pictures of them walking their dogs and pretending to help the needy with deliveries. They have gone but are unfortunately not out of sight. They are like a wasp at a picnic.

Jabberwok Sat 18-Apr-20 16:20:31

That describes them perfectly Chestnut!

quizqueen Sat 18-Apr-20 16:39:44

re dogs; I think the Lab was a newly acquired rescue dog before they left Canada, so, to be fair, they probably haven't been able to train it properly yet. It's not often I say something in their favour!

I wonder what happened to the 'elderly' dog (and I don't mean her dad!!!) that Meghan decided to leave behind in the USA when she married Harry; whether it has since died or she hasn't retrieved it- no sign of that one being walked.

Anniebach Sat 18-Apr-20 16:52:53

Thank you for explaining about the Lab quizqueen , if only
recently taken ownership of it then fair enough, no reason for
an overweight Beagle though, active little dogs.

Chestnut we will continue to see them in the press because
it’s what they want, but only photographs they choose to release, they must have their own camera man.

Bridgeit Sat 18-Apr-20 16:54:26

Do they or the media post these photos?
One man’s loss is another man’s gain as the saying goes
And obviously in the age of gender equality this also applies to woman children , dogs & anything in between

trisher Sat 18-Apr-20 17:41:11

The camera man issue was raised before when it was alleged the picture under the umbrella was staged but actually it was possible to read an account from the photographer about how he got the picture, and how it was sheer luck, Still why let the truth get in the way of a good story?

almostelderly Sat 18-Apr-20 18:26:54

I find it tedious that newspapers are still reporting Harry's antics, not to mention the photographs. Does anyone in the U.K. care about Harry's 'philanthropy', distributing food parcels in Los Angeles? It is coincidental that repórters and photographers are always present when Harry and his wife engage in charitable ventures.

Chewbacca Sat 18-Apr-20 18:38:49

That would be the same coincidence they had when Meghan was going for a walk through their private, heavily guarded, security screened, high fenced, camera patrolled garden; grinning like a loon and a pap somehow managed to get a photograph of her when obviously standing less than 6 foot away on the path from her? Yes.... these coincidences do happen I suppose.....

Anniebach Sat 18-Apr-20 18:56:26

No way do I believe the photographs of them delivering food
parcels, walking those dogs and getting into/out of their car was by the paps.

They parked their car on a public road ?

maddyone Sat 18-Apr-20 19:07:40

Their PR people tip the press a wink, that’s why they know exactly where to turn up to photograph them. Some of you will probably have visited LA and will know that it is unbelievably huge, I cannot impress just how huge it is. There is absolutely no chance at all of the press just happening to catch H+M doing anything. It’s all prearranged.

*trisher *my sister has mental health difficulties, long standing mental health difficulties, and I cannot be the only Gransnetter who has or has had problems with mental health in the family. It’s probably advisable to refrain from appearing to link mental health issues with dysfunctional family background. In my opinion there is absolutely no way such a link can be made, but appearing to suggest it is so could be very painful.

Jabberwok Sat 18-Apr-20 19:17:42

The photo under the umbrella was staged, it was admitted that clever lighting effected that result. you can see it, no way could the inside of a dark umbrella after dark create that lighting effect!
All that press attention when they're apparently seeking privacy! In the UK Harry would have been issuing writs for breach of privacy! Upstaging Catherine and William? AGAIN!

Anniebach Sat 18-Apr-20 19:22:58

You are certainly not the only Gransnetter maddy , there are
times I wonder just how many still scorn mental illness even
though it is now talked about more x

I agree the press are tipped off, something Diana did a lot.

Anniebach Sat 18-Apr-20 19:29:13

Jabber surely it was coincidence that they released the
photographs of them delivering food parcels the day after
William opened a hospital in Birmingham - NOT

coggie Sat 18-Apr-20 19:36:05

Yes they are lurking behind bushes with their overweight dog saying Hee hee Wills and your hospital , Look at me how kind I am. It is all part of Operation Haz. He is about to take over the world.

trisher Sat 18-Apr-20 19:39:27

Samir Hussein who took the umbrella photo said
"After speaking to Harry and Meghan's press officer, I learnt they would be dropped off short of the entrance to Mansion House and walk around ten meters before entering the event. I positioned myself in the official photographer's pen in the best place possible to capture the couple head on.

"As they walked towards me I noticed a flash going off from a camera in the crowd behind them. I knew that if that light could be lined up to be right behind as they walked then it could create a dramatic photo, acting like a back light in a studio shot. I managed to manoeuvre myself to line up the flash behind them and then had to work quickly, with just a second or two to get the shot, as they smiled wonderfully at each other. Immediately, I downloaded the photos onto my laptop and that image jumped straight out at me. I held my breath as I zoomed in to check if it was sharp (with the rain pouring and many flashes firing, it's easy to end up with soft images). Thankfully, it was sharp and I knew I had a truly special shot.

"I've photographed the royals for more than 12 years, but this photo really resonates. I've taken many photos I'm really proud of, but in terms of the huge interest in the subjects and the response I've had, this is probably the most iconic photo I've taken.

“It's a one in a million when all the elements you could wish for as a photographer come together – perfect timing, great lighting, strong symbolism and amazing subjects make this a magical photo I am extremely proud of"
But hey all GNers know more about it than he does.

Anniebach Sat 18-Apr-20 19:43:55

Too funny, ‘ after speaking to their press officer * .?

Thank you trisher

Chestnut Sat 18-Apr-20 19:45:46

Good grief, trisher spends a huge amount of time either defending H&M to the hilt or making pretty nasty remarks about his family! Makes no sense to me.

Anniebach Sat 18-Apr-20 19:51:53

Another piece from trisher’s post re the photographer,
they were dropped off short of the Mansion House and walked
about 10 metres ?

trisher Sat 18-Apr-20 19:52:43

maddyone I did not link mental health issues to dysfunctional families others took what I said and then chose to do so. I was asked why the family was dysfunctional I posted about "accounts of suicide attempts" .The accounts are publicly available to read along with the family responses. I have no idea if the person responsible for the accounts had mental health difficulties at the time. I do know that the responses to her problems were dysfunctional. Why others are happy with those responses I don't know. Why others have chosen to twist what I said is obvious they were losing the argument about Harry speaking to the parents of severely disabled children. A subject they have now dropped. So please don't accuse me of something I have never said.
Evidence of the dysfunctional family here www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4597634/Diana-s-tapes-reveal-suicide-bid-pregnant.html

Anniebach Sat 18-Apr-20 19:55:46

Gosh trisher you have posted a link from the Daily Mail ?

Defending two of the Windsors and quoting the Daily Mail !

trisher Sat 18-Apr-20 20:02:11

Chestnut strangely enough it's called believing in fairness and objectivity. I realise these are unknown qualities to some on GN who only deal in hatred and bile. I have said before much as I dislike the RF as a body I really don't know any of them. So when I read or hear something about any of them I look at what is reported and judge from that. If what is then said about them is inaccurate or biased I reserve the right to post alternative views. In many cases on GN the sheer hatred held for Harry prevents posters taking an objective view. A position vividly ilustrated by the comments about the conversation Harry had. If I don't have an opinion about what is happening (and I really know nothing about their dogs or the food parcels) I keep quiet. It's a pity others on GN can't be less judgemental.
