The heart of the problem trisher is that you know full well that you have caused deep offence to someone who will suffer the pain forever of losing a loved one to suicide. Wouldn't it be kinder to everyone to acknowledge that, apologise and move on?

This descended into an almighty great bun fight. trisher the subject of the thread was very clear. If the subject winds you up then why not stay off the thread altogether and keep your sanity. You know perfectly well there are a lot of people who find H&M's behaviour annoying and they are fully entitled to vent about it on this thread without being insulted.

I was at fault for not ignoring trisher’s post , but I know there
are Gransnetters who have suffered so much from the suicide
of a loved one or are struggling now with the pain of supporting a family member with mental health problems.

Republicans want rid of the royal family and it is from many
republicans that we hear hatred and bile. But to use mental
illness to attack any family is a case of - rock bottom and
still drilling.

Annie, even if you had ignored the comments about mental health and what eminated from these comments, I think they would have been just as hurtful to you and others either way. But again, perhaps enough said.

Right firstly on mental health I have never condemned anyone suffering mental health difficulties or anyone who has attempted to commit suicide. I have condemned the reaction of a family who have been criticised for their response to a mental health problem. And I abide by that. There are dysfunctional families and some of them do not respond well to a member with mental health problems. Now if others are telling me to keep quiet what they are effectively doing is trying to put mental health problems back into the closet where they were for many years and I'm sorry I refuse to do this. I have no doubt that there are many families who support their members through the pain and terror of mental illness but the RF we were discussing is not one of those. I do not and never will use personal or family experiences in any argument on GN those who choose to are free to do so, but should never assume that they are in some way more knowledgable than others.
And Jabberwock I really don't understand why you can't appreciate that I simply look at what is happening and judge accordingly. I do not support or condemn I simply assess and decide on the basis of what I see and what I research.
maddyone if you can find some other reasonable terms for the posts about H&M on GN you may replace those words if you wish but I regard some of the statements as containing nothing else.
