Oh dear, it's not going well is it?

Galaxy Sun 03-May-20 12:51:31

I read the politics thread thanks. I am able to have opinions of my own. She has built a career and made money from it. That is an achievement. Whst do people usually mean by achievements. I would say my achievements are things I have done in my career, raising my children, so she has similar achievements to me, she just has a younger child.

Investigate footballers lives ?

The Mirror, Express, Independant , They criticise Meg

merlotgran Sun 03-May-20 12:55:33

which has cast M as the dark destroyer of the RF.

shock shock

Where's Clawdy? grin

Anniebach Sun 03-May-20 12:58:09

Yes Galaxy and so are all posters able to have their own
opinions .

Grany Sun 03-May-20 13:06:57

I don't know what all the fus is about M&H they are not kids. And they chose to leave the RF good luck to them they will never starve and will probably do some good better than in RF behind K&W It did not work out for them there as a couple. No one really knows unless you were listening in all discussions in all the many huge houses they all live in for free. Book out in August. The RF only does what's good for them better a republic

Sussexborn Sun 03-May-20 13:14:37

Meghan was only paid $30,000 per episode and the main characters $100,000 per episode so presumably she wasn’t quite the star of the show. In the circles she moved in a 40 year old woman with minimal talent is not going to get where MM thought she deserved to be.

When MM first appeared I read an article by a friend who claimed she had quite openly used people to introduce her to a wealthier set then dumped the old friends. She also said that MM deliberately got involved with charity work in the USA as a way to meet billionaires at functions. She suggested to this friend she did the same. At the time I assumed it was sour grapes but now I think differently.

Anniebach Sun 03-May-20 13:19:13

Grany you must listen in to the royals, you said
‘They never give money’.

maddyone Sun 03-May-20 13:20:12

To favour a republic is a very valid point Grany but equally so is favouring a monarchy. Both are opinions that posters can quite legitimately hold. However those who favour a republic or a monarchy are perfectly entitled to hold and express opinions about people in the royal family. I realise that republicans are cheering H+M on from the sidelines because they feel it’s the beginning of the breakup of the monarchy. Be that as it may, others are entitled to express their views, like them or lump them.

Sussexborn Sun 03-May-20 13:26:58

Yes Grany.

We too could have our very own Trump. He was voted for in the US because many didn’t like the colour of Obama’s skin and Trump barged his way to the top position because his one talent is catching the mood of the public in the US.

I think I’ll stick to the RF with all its human flaws. At least there is constancy and they paired back when they realised what was needed. Massive pressure on W&K now but they seem to be handling it in a sensible and pragmatic manner.

Sussexborn Sun 03-May-20 13:29:21

That should be pared back! GN still don’t think we are mature enough to correct our own, or autocorrects, mistakes.

trisher Sun 03-May-20 13:36:12

Massive pressure on W&K now really? I thought they were stuck at home like the rest of us, apart from doing photo opportunities with their daughter of course.
By the way I wonder how many of us would be prepared to stay in a country where our husband's granny, and after her his dad, would have absolute rights over our child? I suspect that although he has never spoken about it Harry was acutely aware of how this affected his mother. (If you don't know the law goes back to George 1)

Craicon Sun 03-May-20 13:38:21

Another bitchy thread about Meghan from the same pathetic right wing nutters.
How surprising!

Davidhs Sun 03-May-20 13:41:23

I have always been happy to give Meghan the benefit of the doubt wether she was a good match for Harry. She was in a “win, win” position, either they fitted in with the cosseted Royal lifestyle, or if it didn’t work out she and any kids would live comfortable lives elsewhere. We haven’t reached that point yet, they are still together but win or loose, the court case put a big strain on the relationship.

Anniebach Sun 03-May-20 13:41:33

Rubbish trisher the Queen didn’t even step in and stop
her ex daughter in law take the boys to holiday with the Fayeds
, good grief I would have done anything to stop my grandchildren mixing with that lot.

Grany Sun 03-May-20 13:44:56

We would choose our elected head of state it would not be as now hereditary and we could vote them out, this lot you can't.
Plus the RF cost the earth. Ireland has a well respected and liked president.

Anniebach Sun 03-May-20 13:46:03

Craicon you seem confused , it’s the far left who criticise
the Windsors.

maddyone Sun 03-May-20 13:52:17

Annie
Well said, it made me smile grin

trisher Sun 03-May-20 14:16:22

By the time they went on holiday with the Fayeds the boys were 15 and 13 so probably asking for what they wanted. What they never had a choice about was Christmas in Scotland. How many would let their children spend every Christmas with their husband's mother? And yes it may be a tradition, but it was absolutely harmful to them and not what is usually permitted in divorces. And no matter if you think she has or hasn't exercised it the monarch has legal responsibility for all royal children. As an American M must have been shocked when she realised this.

Clawdy Sun 03-May-20 14:28:30

Craicon you are so right.

Anniebach Sun 03-May-20 14:34:41

trisher you know the sons never had a choice ? You know
the agreements made when their parents seperated?

You know Christmas with their father was absolutely harmful to them ?

Pantglas2 Sun 03-May-20 14:52:01

William and Harry would have spent Christmas with their cousins Peter and Zara who were their age and saw frequently . They rarely saw the cousins on their mother’s side as she kept falling out with their parents, her siblings.

Chewbacca Sun 03-May-20 14:56:36

As an American M must have been shocked when she realised this.

Caveat emptor.

Calendargirl Sun 03-May-20 15:52:46

I’ve never seen Suits either Merlotgran, but my sister watched and enjoyed it.

She said the way Meghan looks at Harry is exactly how her character in Suits behaved in the show.

trisher Sun 03-May-20 15:55:29

Chewbacca I agree but how many people would think that a law passed in the time of George 1 would still be on the statute 300 years later?

maddyone Sun 03-May-20 15:57:46

I know this has absolutely nothing to do with H+M, but why would anyone assume it would be harmful for William and Harry to spend Christmas with their grandparents and the rest of the family? I would have thought that they would have thought it was their family tradition. In a same way Beatrice and Eugenie spent Christmas with the family.
