Oh dear, it's not going well is it?

merlotgran Sat 10-Oct-20 20:18:38

An actress, who married a bloke from a posh family.
That apparently made more people angry than the actions of any world leader, any politician, any media mogul, any corporate figure, any notorious hate-monger, come to that. More than a member of the royal family accused of involvement in sex trafficking and paedophillia.

Whenever any eyebrows are raised over Meghan's behaviour, Somebody brings up Andrew as a diversion.

Is it beyond the realms of possibility to separate the two issues?

Pantglas2 Sat 10-Oct-20 20:19:50

her need to make these things about her, rather than the people she’s meant to be helping, is worrying to say the least.

She goes to Africa and an interview there turns into ‘no one asked if I was ok’ and now her helpful intervention for these teens is ‘I’m the most trolled person in 2019’!

I doubt that with Trump around stealing your thunder duchess but it suits you to portray your victimhood to impressionable youngsters. Some of us aren’t as gullible!

Anniebach Sat 10-Oct-20 20:20:04

What has her being trolled to do with Teenage Therapy?

PECS Sat 10-Oct-20 20:26:41

I have no real interest in the RF. I do not read any details, just see the headlines. However it does seem the media (establishment?) were always anti Meghan... whether her colour, her nationalty, her career... who knows..they turned against Diana too previously & she was very establishment until in death she could sell more papers. As we only "know" what editors publish or punters spread as gossip..who the hell knows, or cares, about the details of the family squabbles of the super wealthy ?

merlotgran Sat 10-Oct-20 20:27:07

Meghan later added that she is now 'doing really well', and said: 'The past few months have been layered for everyone, we certainly can't complain, we are fortunate we all have our health, we have rooves over our heads.'

Is it any wonder some folk get sick of her blinkered witterings when there are so many people suffering real health and poverty issues?

Jane10 Sat 10-Oct-20 20:38:21

'rooves'? Really?

biba70 Sat 10-Oct-20 22:00:09

There is a huge generation divide on attitudes towards Meghan and Harry - it seems.

The point made is not that Meghan is perfect, but that it is amazing, with so many awful people around with the worst, selfish, nasty intentions and actions- that so much hatred should have be piled on her- when she is pretty much irrelevant, in the great scales of things.

I remember when Harry's mother was also maligned, criticised, derided - and then she died- and became a heroin, for the same people, Strange world indeed.

Blimey! Don't tell Meghan that or she'll up the ante!

biba70 Sat 10-Oct-20 22:24:58

LOL, I won't, no worries (or more like no chance ah).

Pantglas2 Sun 11-Oct-20 08:15:09

I think Biba has hit the nail on the head actually with the generational thing!

My husband and I find her irritating and irrelevant since they left the royal umbrella as we both feel the future there is the Cambridges in a reduced monarchy.

My father has no interest in them at all, my daughter is their age and finds their adventures fascinating and my grandchildren in their teens see them as too old and preachy to matter to them!

Meghan is a woman who talks and talks, mainly about herself, but never listens.

Prince Harry could face a scolding by the Queen amid concerns over his public comments about US politics as royal staff prepare for him to return to the UK, according to reports.

It is thought that Palace staff have been told to ready Frogmore Cottage for the imminent return of the duke - without mention of Meghan Markle.

The Queen, 94, is likely to meet with Harry at her Bubble at Windsor! According to the news yesterday!

Ellianne Sun 11-Oct-20 09:16:46

to ready Frogmore Cottage what does that entail? A few beers in the fridge and some clean towels.

Elegran Sun 11-Oct-20 10:12:20

I don't think the RF objects to actresses - a lot of the aristocrcy and royalty have married them, in spite of the old image of women who tread the boards being no better than ladies of the night. They don't object to Americans either, though it helps if they are heiresses.

Sparklefizz Sun 11-Oct-20 11:48:35

Harry has got to leave the US for a short while to avoid a huge tax bill according to the media.

I agree, the two are definitely not incompatible Elegran. Grace Kelly being a fine example. It is how the person themselves adapts to their new role that is important.
Didn't the King of Spain marry a divorced TV journalist too? I assume she is queen?

Anniebach Sun 11-Oct-20 12:39:19

one unwritten rule when marrying into the royal family, the
Queen is top of the tree because she is the monarch, Meg put
herself on top of the tree

Jane43 Sun 11-Oct-20 12:44:51

More ‘poor me’ going on from Meghan. She is now saying she is the most trolled person in the world.

Anniebach Sun 11-Oct-20 12:46:29

How can she claim this is true , impossible to prove surely

Jane43 Sun 11-Oct-20 12:48:24

Sorry Merlotgran mentioned the trolling complaint before, I didn’t read far enough back.

Jane43 Sun 11-Oct-20 12:50:58

Anniebach

She obviously never lets facts get in the way of a good headline.

Galaxy Sun 11-Oct-20 12:55:08

I imagine there will be some truth in it, black women in particular receive hideous online abuse.

Lexisgranny Sun 11-Oct-20 13:05:15

The point that interested me here was that in my search engine, Meghan’s quote that she was the most trolled far outweighed the original news that she was actually third, but we know how Meghan likes to be first. Most newspapers seemed to run with her version

It will interesting to see what excuse Harry comes up with for returning to the UK to avoid paying UK tax. Also with her Court Case beginning in January, when will Meghan arrive?

Galaxy Sun 11-Oct-20 14:26:08

Are you saying she enjoys the abuse? I can reproduce the abuse that women receive online, but it would be deleted. It frequently includes death threats and description of violent sexual assault.

Grany Sun 11-Oct-20 16:02:54

I agree with you biba70 Sat 10-Oct-20 18:51:48
