I can’t say I’m a massive fan of Lord Sugar but I find myself agreeing with the sentiments in his tweet.
I too, am sick to death of all the negativity re: the handling of Covid19 by the Press and TV News.
This Pandemic had been a Global disaster but we are going to come through it and the Government are, obviously, doing their very best in unprecedented recent times.

Well, France haven't exactly done terribly well in combatting the virus thus far. But at least they have a leader who admitted that he'd messed up and apologised for it. Maybe, by September there will be a lot more knowledge about the virus and how it affects children. And, why is it ok for public schools to remain closed till September?

Firstly, no country with a sizeable population has done terribly well in being able to combat Covid-19.....because it’s a completely new virus. However, what can be said is that all countries are doing the best they can.
Secondly, we won’t have a lot more knowledge about how the virus affects children or the rate they can spread it until there are children back in the schools!
All that they can say though, is that where schools have been open (with key workers children attending) it doesn’t seem that they are acting as super spreaders, the way children normally do with colds or flu.

I've just heard that since the French schools reopened [30% of the children] there have been 70 new cases but I need to listen to the report again as I didn't catch if it was amongst the children [I don't think it was] or the local population. So, you think we need to get the children back into school so we can find out more about how the virus spreads amongst children? Interesting.

Right; I've listened to it again. 30% of children of primary school age have gone back to school in France. But there have been 70 new cases linked to schools [no breakdown; not sure if it's children/teachers etc]. So 7 schools have had to close down. I would assume that schools that have remained open here have had a limited number of children in them and they've probably spent a lot of time outdoors. Perhaps we can just use the French children as our guinea pigs to see what happens? Then again, this government doesn't seem to pay much attention to what happens in other countries. I know that, from listening to parliament today, parents with children that live in areas where the virus infection rate is rapidly increasing are very worried about their children going back to school. Thankfully my grandchildren will continue to be home schooled until we feel it's safe.
