Over the Russia report

Tory corruption

No protection for the NHS

No protection for our food standards

No Parliamentary scrutiny of any trade deal.

I’m sure some must think it’s all excellent?

GrannyLaine Wed 22-Jul-20 09:07:17

I would guess that many of those Tory supporters you are looking for WWMK2 are having that reasoned debate elsewhere.

trisher Wed 22-Jul-20 09:17:35

I'm just wondering if I went quiet just before the election? I don't think I did. I think I was told many times how unpopular Corbyn was- not where I live! I think I posted a lot about how Boris was a liar and untrustworthy as well. It should make me feel better to know I was right all along. It doesn't. Because strangely enough I care about the people who will suffer because of the Tories. And yes some of those people voted for Boris. Where all the posters who supported him on GN have gone I don't know.

Kandinsky

A lot of this stuff is too complicated for many people so they just ignore it.
Most ( if not all ) think all governments are a little bit corrupt, with money & favours changing hands here there & everywhere. the phrase; ‘they’re all as bad as each other’ embedded firmly in their minds.

No disrespect op, but I really don’t think gransnet is the hub of great political minds who want to debate for hours on end. maybe they’ve got better things to do?
So not really sure what it is you’re trying to achieve?
From your posts it looks like you want Tory voters to throw themselves at your feet so you can give them a damn good flogging. ( which they’d probably quite enjoy )

Kandinsky well said ? ? ? (especially the last bit!)

lemongrove Wed 22-Jul-20 09:28:37

Kandinsky ??
No flogging for me thanks.
True that I have better things to do though, and find these endless ‘let’s slag off the government’ threads both tedious and bitter.

trisher It wasn’t before the GE it was immediately after it (posters going missing in action)? that Grandad1943 was talking about.

Janpt Wed 22-Jul-20 09:50:37

trisher Apart from a few of us the rest are sitting back in the knowledge that the country is in the safe hands of a Conservative government rather than a Marxist one in thrall to Russia.

ladymuck Wed 22-Jul-20 09:57:51

Have you stopped your ranting long enough to consider what state we would be in if Jeremy Corbyn was now Prime Minister?
I presume this all comes back to Brexit. You want the result declared null and void and another referendum organised?

Janpt Wed 22-Jul-20 10:11:19

vegansrock You're the blinkered ones. I don't recall you criticizing Marxist Corbyn. What a disaster he would have been. You have all been indoctrinated from an early age and appear to be incapable of forming a balanced view on anything.

JenniferEccles Wed 22-Jul-20 10:16:19

You want an answer to the question of where are all the Tory supporters on this thread WWM2?

I think I can answer that.

I’m pretty sure that people see the title of the thread, see it’s posted by you and then move on, knowing for certain that it will be yet another tedious ‘bash the government’ rant.

Sorry but I’m sure that’s your answer.

Janpt Wed 22-Jul-20 10:31:35

Grandad1943 I seem to recall that I was the only one on this forum still defending Corbyn and his policies on the morning following the general election result. All other "staunch Labour supporters" disappeared from this site often for a period of many weeks.
I'd keep quiet about this if I were you. Sounds as if you were the joke !!

trisher Wed 22-Jul-20 10:33:27

Janpt ^ the country is in the safe hands of a Conservative government rather than a Marxist one in thrall to Russia^
In view of the Russian connections with Tory MPs and members of H Of L, would you rather be in hock to Russian oligarchs?

Grandad1943

Those that state they now believe that Jeremy Corbyn would have made a better Prime Minister than Johnson should have conceived those thoughts prior to the General election.

As a person believing in democracy Corbyn reintroduced that concept throughout all levels of the Labour party with election to all offices outside that of the employed staff. That action drew in huge numbers in membership that made Labour the largest political organisation in Europe.

Leaders such McCluskey and Bob Crow carried out similar to the above in the broader labour movement, again bringing election to all offices throughout the movement.

However, many now criticising the lack of democracy in the Tory Party had only criticism of Corbyn prior to the last general election with little thought it would seem to what may happen to Parliamentary decision making under the leadership of a proven liar such as Johnson.

I seem to recall that I was the only one on this forum still defending Corbyn and his policies on the morning following the general election result. All other "staunch Labour supporters" disappeared from this site often for a period of many weeks.

What a joke some people are.

I agree with most of your comments (most unusual!) Grandad1943, other than the point about other staunch Labour supporters still defending Corbyn after the election.

In my often expressed opinion, he was the best thing to happen to British politics in a very long time. No, he didn't succeed, but the far right infiltration into the UK establishment, business, politics and media bought the election.

I admired Corbyn before, during and after the election. He's a principled man who continues with his support of the poor and needy, previously claimed to be publicity stunts by the Tories.

It was obvious on results day what the position would be with Boris and Cummings. Although obviously no one predicted that they'd have to deal with a global pandemic.

I think Kandinsky's post hits the nail squarely on the head. Just ignore the sarcasm.

(TBH it rather amused me)

?? in light of some posts I see exactly what you mean. Although flogging is not my cup of tea, but highlighting the Tory traitors is.

They don’t like it do they? The more the supporters cry foul without a sensible argument, the more I realise that I am hitting the nail on the head

Do you know JE you have taken the words right out of my mouth. I never take any notice of any posts by WW. It’s just the same old stuff over and over again. The usual suspects on the political forums come across as bitter and demented. We have a conservative government for the next 4 years no matter how they all ramble on and on an on..

trisher Wed 22-Jul-20 10:57:44

Really Janpt? Some Russian donors are personally close to the prime minister. Alexander Temerko, who has worked for the Kremlin’s defence ministry and has spoken warmly about his “friend” Boris Johnson, has gifted more than £1.2m to the Conservatives over the past seven years
Of course it was just because they are kind hearted wasn't it?

Yup.

trisher Wed 22-Jul-20 10:59:46

Orangerose is that why there are no comments from government supporters on the thread about the NHS as well?
Or is it simply that this government is unsupportable?

Orangerose Wed 22-Jul-20 11:06:45

Oh I dunno trisher never really thought about it - got to peg my washing out now

trisher Wed 22-Jul-20 11:24:11

Has anyone noticed how some of the right wing posters suddenly seem to have occupations which prevent them posting? It seems that the Tories have taken to doing things. Perhaps to take their minds off the deep shit they have landed us in.

Gajahgran Wed 22-Jul-20 11:45:46

JenniferEccles I agree totally, it's just the same old ranting and throwing insults around. I had one vote I used it. I am happy. Going to have a nice cup of coffee in the garden. It's looking nice today.

Janpt Wed 22-Jul-20 11:57:45

trisher I'm sure the Marxist party has far more connections to Russia than this !!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Jul-20 12:12:28

Trying to .^guilt trip^ those voters who gave their X to the Conservatives?

I would vote the same way today, tomorrow or in four years time. In my opinion the other parties are still unelectable and I can not see that changing in the foreseeable future.

This Conservative is off to enjoy her Birthday ???

Jabberwok Wed 22-Jul-20 12:12:38

Just looked at the size of the financial bailout the Commission have inflicted on the frugal four!!! Whew, we've certainly dodged a bullet there! saved by the bell ! Thank God we've left!

trisher Wed 22-Jul-20 12:17:03

Janpt could you tell me what Marxist party you are referring to?
