And it says she called for Dominic Cummings' resignation, you couldn't make it up!

Marydoll Thu 01-Oct-20 20:45:50

I don't understand how she can have been so stupid! Or is it an I'm alright Jack, the rules don't apply to me, so there!.

janipat I agree with you. All the rail staff she has come in contact with have been compromised.
A totally selfish and astoundingly arrogant woman! She is not fit to represent the people in her constituency. Has she no integrity?

Oh come on, it’s more like a few posters are using the situation to have a dig at me.....(please don’t think I don’t realise this.)
I found terribull’s comment amusing not the fact that a
SNP did what she did.MP’s from all parties, including the SNP are behaving badly.
Do continue with unpleasant po faced comments though, if it floats your boat.

Callistemon Thu 01-Oct-20 20:48:39

That is not an attack on any particular poster btw, but some posts.

Politicians in all parties seem to think they are above the rules or the law and that the virus won't affect them.
You'd think Johsnson having caught it and been very ill would have made them realise they are not immune. They are not some elite, superior beings.

No, it was the post implicating another poster who doesn’t appear on this thread and the snide comments about her. It isn’t all about you, however much you may like to think it is but about fair play, and those posts weren’t

suziewoozie Thu 01-Oct-20 20:54:44

Keep on keeping on - your post makes you sound a little wounded lemon. Not enough people sharing yours snd Terribulls so called sense of humour and having a nasty dig at a clearly identifiable poster? I’d have more respect for the two of you if you had the guts to name her but no, letter of the guidelines not the spirit.

suziewoozie Thu 01-Oct-20 20:58:13

I’m not having a dig at you btw lemon I’m calling you out openly and honestly and not hiding behind a snide reference to ‘a certain poster’

Yes WW exactly - she’s not even on this thread. Cowards

lemongrove Thu 01-Oct-20 21:01:44

Do give over......much ado about nothing, as usual.

tickingbird Thu 01-Oct-20 21:04:48

Just depressing really. What hypocrites these people are. Calling for Cummings to go and then travelling to and from Scotland on a train? Regardless of her political allegiance she is a disgrace. It’s shocking.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 01-Oct-20 21:06:09

The alleged poster will probably not post on this thread as it is anti a Scottish MP.
However if it was an English MP or a member of the RF who had traveled on public transport whilst knowingly testing positive for Covid-19 they would have been posting in SHOUTY CAPITALS, incessantly.

lemongrove Thu 01-Oct-20 21:10:39

Urmston ?? I will pm you to see how they are.Fingers crossed it isn’t Covid.

Chewbacca Thu 01-Oct-20 21:15:29

Personally, I don't give a s**t which side of the border this MP is from, I'm just heartily sick to the back teeth of MPs, from all persuasions, telling us what to do whilst doing what the hell they like. Arrogance, ignorance and hypocrisy is rife in every political party and I'd like to see every one of them who has "broken the rules", sacked and charged with a criminal offence under the Coronavirus Act. angry

biba70 Thu 01-Oct-20 21:16:51

I don't care if they are Tories, or Labour, Leavers or Remainers, Scottish or Welsh- Politicians who flout the rules, should be fined and made an example of- end of story.

And so should their close allies or relatives, be fined- no exception. It all started with Cummings- and it has cause so so much resentment and disobedience by so many.

Urmstongran Thu 01-Oct-20 21:22:51

There’d be very few in the HoC I bet!

Grannynannywanny Thu 01-Oct-20 21:23:08

Most decent folk doing their best to abide by the rules despite the hardship it brings. Families separated, folk suffering loneliness and depression. Care home residents separated from their families since March. Relatives standing outside care home windows trying to hold a conversation and reassure their loved ones, many of whom don’t even recognise them now. Relatives not allowed to visit their nearest and dearest in hospital unless an end of life situation. Many were even denied that. Vulnerable people of all ages forced to shield for months.
Then we have someone involved in the rule making thinks it was ok to make an 800 mile round trip by train potentially infecting everyone around her.

I can’t even summon up the energy to get angry. I’m just so bloody depressed when I read about this act of crass stupidity and reckless behaviour.

lemongrove Thu 01-Oct-20 21:30:21

I expect we will hear of many more examples over the course of the next six months sadly.
There was a thread today where the OP told us her dinner guests told her they had just had tests done.....yet had still shown up for the evening.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 01-Oct-20 21:34:16

lemon unfortunately I think you are right.

biba70 Thu 01-Oct-20 21:39:15

and not surprisingly lemon- Cummings should have been punished, and so should they all, Johnson's dad included. Every one getting away with it is a massive signal that it is OK to ignore the rules.

lemongrove Thu 01-Oct-20 21:47:50

What this SNP MP did was much worse ....and to do it now as well, just when the figures for positive Covid tests are spiralling upwards.Unbelievable.

lemongrove Thu 01-Oct-20 21:48:58

I can’t believe Johnson senior didn’t know the rules...he is playing the ‘I’m 80’ card.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 01-Oct-20 21:50:25

Stanley Johnson went into a shop without a mask, I suggest posters read some of the GN threads with GN posters admitting to not wearing masks.

SueDonim Thu 01-Oct-20 21:51:40

This is utterly infuriating! I’ve just cancelled a visit to my dd who’s been working long hours in a hospital and could do with a bit of moral support yet this woman thinks she can wander around selfishly spreading the virus willynilly. Of course she’s sorry - she got caught! angry angry angry

lemongrove Thu 01-Oct-20 21:52:00

Have they??
No excuse, unless a health matter.

biba70 Thu 01-Oct-20 21:55:51

it is not about who is worse, or less bad, or whatever.

All should be fined and punished accordingly.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 01-Oct-20 21:57:46

lemongrove I am a stickler for rules, I am asthmatic, I manage to wear a mask and my glasses steam up. I just find it hypocritical when people find any excuse to absent themselves from the rules Plenty of examples over the last six months on GN!

Flipping heck I totally agree with you ??
