I see Trumps twitter account has been classified as 100% rubbish???

Sarnia Wed 16-Dec-20 14:37:40

I wonder what he is planning for Biden's inauguration day?

Whitewavemark2 Wed 16-Dec-20 14:43:17

Sarnia

I wonder what he is planning for Biden's inauguration day?

Are there bets on whether he will turn up?

Perhaps he will try and arrange an alternative inauguration in the hope he will attract more people than Biden.

That’s the sort of puerile nonsense he would do.

Um! From this side of the Atlantic, we understood that he got 10 million less than Biden.

I don’t think that makes most Americans?

Blimey! What am I likely to be astounded about?

Give us a clue, NannyC2 What rabbit is Trump going to pull out of a hat which will change the legitimate votes of a million Americans and cancel out all the debts and lawsuits he will face when he no longer has (temporary) Presidential immunity?

Is he planning to bring in a law making his presidency permanent and lifelong, and/'or allowing ex-presidents immunity to criminal charges for the rest of their lives? That would change him from being the elected President of a free-voting nation, into being the lifelong totalitarian ruler of a dictatorship with absolute power to do anything whatsoever he wants to, against all the laws of that country and the freedom that the citizens has fought for and defended for centuries.

I do hope he has no ambitions to do that. I hope too that no American would let him do it.

Fennel Wed 16-Dec-20 17:50:35

10 million is just a drop in the ocean, when the current USA population is 331,905, 768. Acc. to worldometer.
Maybe not all potential voters, but still a lot.

What did Trump do for us? He LET people die. I am sickened what came out yesterday. The former advisor to the Human Health Administration gave out an email in April that said to let people get herd immunity. Let them get sick . You achieve herd immunity with a deadly virus by having a vaccine and 70% of the population inoculated. Trump has been more worried about himself losing an election than doing his job. And now they don’t want him at his club in Florida. He filed papers saying it was a club not a residence.

So the reason we haven’t been able to get the relief package is because McConnell wants a clause saying that corporations will not be able to be sued if their employees get Covid. So in other wards a company could NOT follow safety rules and not be sued if the whole place gets the virus.
And some of the states aren’t getting their vaccine . It has to be authorized and no one knows who’s in charge. Such a mess.
Canada was paying its people $2000 a month. Trump has said NOTHING about the virus or the hacking by Russians. He is absent. He abandoned his country. He disgusts so many people. Joe will not be perfect, but he will do the right thing.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 19-Dec-20 12:06:01

Try living in the U.K.

We have a mini Trump but with no end in sight.

rosecarmel Sat 19-Dec-20 17:37:22

McConnell isn't the only one in disagreement with the package- And it's about time some Democrats are addressing the fact that the same people who received a chunk will get a chunk again and the rest get nothing-

Yes, nothing- Not even 600- That's what the bipartisan bill indicated-

McConnell needs to be gone- Pelosi gone- Schumer gone- None of them want progess-

rosecarmel Sat 19-Dec-20 17:40:48

Currently, progressives are being shat on- Left, right and sideways- Despite the fact that without them Biden would have lost the election-

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump’s administration is ending how it began, with over-the-top declarations of praise for the chief executive.

But now the flattery is mixed with a sense of finality as key people in the president’s orbit are beginning to turn the page and acknowledge his defeat. Trump himself keeps to the Oval Office, still fighting the Election Day results and offering scant acknowledgement of the death and suffering Americans are bearing in the darkest hours of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Franbern Mon 21-Dec-20 18:52:34

Just wondering if Trump is going to move himself to some Island somewhere and set up an alternative USA government in exile. Sort of crazy thing he would think was a good idea!!!

Have always felt that Trump had a sort of Roman Emperor syndrome - they always thought of themselves as divine once they became emperor, and that is how Trump sees himself.

He is even now distancing himself from one of his greatest supporters and person to whom he appears to have been Mentor - PM Johnson!!!!

Whitewavemark2 Tue 22-Dec-20 12:31:52

Relief package been passed.

Well it’s a start, the democrats seem to be suggestin* that more will be needed.

On another subject, I see the army is getting edgy as they are worried that Trump is considering Marshall law in his bid to stay in the WH.

Jane43 Tue 22-Dec-20 13:23:43

Presumably this was the ‘big thing‘ NannyC2was promising the other day. Trump was trying to float the idea of declaring martial war during a meeting in The White House last Friday. The only two supporters of the idea were Sidney Powell and Michael Flynn, the rest of the team shot the idea down. Sidney Powell was Previously one of Trump’s legal team but even Rudy Guiliani recently said ‘her arguments go beyond the bounds of rationality, common sense and the law’. She also made many groundless claims about the accuracy of Dominion counting machines and is being taken to court by Dominion. Flynn’s previous role in The White House and the US army is also very murky so I think the prospect of martial law is another of Trump’s failed, desperate attempts to save his orange skin.

Trump supporters may be heartened by the fact that one of the many claims of voter fraud has been found to be actually true, that is votes were cast in the name of dead people. Bruce Bartman Of Pennsylvania cast two illegal votes, one in the name of his dead mother and the other in the name of his deal mother-in-law. The only problem for Trump supporters is that the two extra votes were for Trump.

Donald Trump's motives for fighting the results of the election come down to ego and money, according to Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney and fixer.

“He knows he lost the election. He knows it. But the problem is he has an incredibly fragile ego and his fragile ego will not allow him to acknowledge that he is a loser, that he lost the election to Joe Biden,” Cohen said in a Vanity Fair interview published Monday.

“This is a cash grab. When you finish a job, you’re always thinking about how to reinvent yourself. That’s what Donald Trump is doing right now,” he said.

With less than a month before Biden’s inauguration, Trump still publicly maintains that he actually won the election and was the victim of a widespread conspiracy to rig it against him. Anyone who disputes those baseless allegations ― including Republican election officials, the Supreme Court and even some conservative Fox News personalities ― has become the target of his ire.

“He knows that his next saga of his story is really going to be predicated around a Trump news network. It’s why he’s fighting with Fox every day,” Cohen said.

“He’s looking to steal their base. Because with his social media platform of 90 million followers, he knows that of that 90 million, 20 million are die-hard Trump fans.”

Cohen noted that many of Trump’s most devout supporters have indicated they would support him no matter what.

“From them, he just wants $4.99 a month. And for that $4.99 a month, you get to listen to all the bullshit and all the far-right-wing conspiracies that Donald Trump can dream up,” Cohen said. “That’s what he’s going to sell you. That’s $100 million a month, $1.2 billion a year. That’s going to pay for the gas in his 757.”

Asked about his own 2019 prophecy that Trump would not transition peacefully at the end of his presidential term, Cohen said that knowing Trump as well as he did, he was certain of his forecast.

Cohen pleaded guilty in 2018 to criminal charges that included lying to Congress and campaign finance violations related to hush-money payments made during the 2016 campaign to silence two women ― Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal ― who alleged they had extramarital affairs with Trump.

Now serving the remainder of his three-year prison sentence in home confinement, Cohen has written a deeply critical book about Trump.

It's a mess-

Jane43 Tue 22-Dec-20 23:17:48

It is a mess rosecarmel, like everything Trump gets involved in. Cohen previously said that when he was working for the Trump Administration and blindly did the things that landed him in jail it was like being in a cult. I know Trump has aspirations to set up his own news channel but I read an article that discussed this and said Trump is too lazy to commit to fronting it and he may be spending a lot of time in court fighting the many law suits that are pending. He has big debts looming, he may have to pay off his wife if she divorces him so will he be able to raise the money it will cost to purchase such a channel and run it. If he does set it up it will probably be another one of his failed business ventures. On paper he could make a great deal of money from it but he couldn’t even make money from casinos.

rosecarmel Wed 23-Dec-20 00:08:29

Jane, he cashes in on failures, which involves screwing others out of money- He has a history of it- No different now-

People gladly hand over the cash- All any narcissist needs is a single redeeming quality to convince others to invest-

On other fronts, the stimulus passed- Too little too late for many- And we're headed into the winter months- It will be weeks before people actually see financial help-

Congress has used the "pandemic" packages to advance other agendas- It's disheartening-
