We need a coup

Whether it is an internal Tory overthrow or another political group, we need the current criminal incompetents removed from power. They are willfully causing needless C19 deaths and in-full-view pocketing tax payer money with only the flimsiest of attempts to pretend they're not.

I'm no Tory (god forbid) but bloody hell, what we need now is a Margaret Thatcher to sort this unholy mess Boris and his buddies are making.

Virtue signalling par excellence.

It must be amazing to be perfect... grin

growstuff Fri 23-Oct-20 15:40:35

Looking at Marcus Rashford's Twitter account, Johnson might well go down in history as the "lunch muncher" (like Thatcher the milk snatcher).

Whitewavemark2 Fri 23-Oct-20 15:43:27

The petition to stop funding MPs food and alcohol is flying!

our parliamentary democracy Its not your Parliament.
When did you last live in the uk.

Amazing that Gaga's post is deleted- whereas this is allowed to stand. It is not rude Gaga- it is sheer racism and discriminatory. I am British, so is my OH, and all my family. So yes, ours.

janpt thank you for confirming my suspicion.

I suspect that there are fewer supporting your opinion than you might like to think.

I don't expect much support on here. The whole site is so left wing. You even support one of your own, Angela Rayner and her disgusting behaviour and language. She is unfit to hold office.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 23-Oct-20 16:28:30

Janpt I am a Conservative, Covid-19 has caused unprecedented hardship for thousands of families, they need help now!

Children going hungry should not be a political pawn!!

The current crisis would test the mettle of anyone as who'd have thought we were going to have a pandemic on top of the nonsensical Brexit as well ?
I admit that the government have gone the wrong way about things concerning the handling of this virus and should have followed what they did in China where it began and where their population is greater than ours.

In China, they physically went from door to door, prompted aggressive quarantining and authoritarian measures to stem the virus but it paid off. Would the UK stand for this kind of treatment ? Not to mention what happened to those who broke the law there !

In China they put iron doors over the front door of thousands of flats so that they couldn't get out!

Funny how they had thousands of doors ready made for the event? The poor people were shouting out of their windows - one was saying that she was locked in with someone dying and couldn't get out!! Lets hope they also fed these people?? That is possibly why their numbers suddenly went up - they collected the dead from the flats when it subsided??

I agree but as I have said before there is no need for children to go hungry so long as parents use the benefits for what they are intended and not spent on cigarettes and drink.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 23-Oct-20 16:38:02

Janpt I apologise if this seems harsh........ but you have no flipping idea what it is like to be poor in 2020!!!!

GillT57 Fri 23-Oct-20 16:50:10

I share your frustration Gagajo, not just with the blatant corruption going on in full view, but with those who doen't seem to find it a problem. I give you Anna Soubray today on Twitter:
I feel the need to apologise for a party I was once very proud to be a member of. The Conservative Party has lost its moral compass, is run by people who lie as easily as they take breath & which is turning our great country into a dishonourable international laughing stock

Anyone who isn't concerned about the corruption, blatant cronyism and disregard for the rule of law hasn't got a grasp of what a democratic country should be like. Listening to that pompous fat bastard Soames lying about defending the performance of Serco in the abysmal Track and Trace, then throwing red herrings about, accusing the Labour MP ( a GP) on the programe of being a member of a party of ant-vaxxers left me open mouthed. I am angry that more people are not angry. I don't support anarchy, but surely even just writing repeatedly to your MP to register your anger is worth the effort? It is notable that our local Tory MP, who voted against feeding children over the school holidays is being repeatedly slated on local FB pages, it doesn't mean much individually, but if everyone keeps on emailing or writing to their MP, it must eventually dawn on them that what they are doing is not popular. If of course, you don't have a problem with the corruption, breaking the law, bringing the country into disrepute then frankly you need to have a good look at yourself for this goes beyond political party.

I agree but as I have said before some people do not make things easier for themselves by wasting benefite

GillT57 Fri 23-Oct-20 16:56:43

Oh and Janpt if you consider supporting Angela Rayner a left wing act, then so be it. She is a woman to be admired, as a child she was a carer with a mother with serious mental illness so she knows what she is talking about in the area of childhood poverty, more than you evidently do with your snarky unfounded and ignorant comments there is no need for children to go hungry so long as parents use the benefits for what they are intended and not spent on cigarettes and drink. When you see someone having a cigarette do you ask if they are on benefits? I don't expect you do actually know anyone on 'their uppers' because if you did, you wouldn't be so ill-informed.

westendgirl Fri 23-Oct-20 17:04:49

How many people waste benefits, Janpt ?Do you really know or are you just sticking to something you once saw in a TV programme.?
Open your mind for goodness sake. There are people who have been made redundant, whose income has has dropped drastically, so look around , talk to people who work at the foodbank, who work in schools , who start charities in their local area to help children and who have been doing this for several years, such as the Make Lunch initiative, Look out for Sal's shoes who are now being asked to donate shoes in this country and so on. Most of all stop being blinkered. These are children we are talking about.Please.

Does anyone on here ( apart from the OP) genuinely think there should be some sort of coup ( and by who) and how?
Just interested....I think it’s loony tunes to even contemplate but what do you think? Haven’t seen all that many repudiations of the idea so far.

lemongrove Fri 23-Oct-20 17:09:38

Perhaps the jumping on Janpt from a great height should now stop.....starting to look bullying.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 23-Oct-20 17:10:41

No coup in my name Lemongrove

I just hope MPs from all sides come to their senses.

GillT57 Fri 23-Oct-20 17:16:34

Lemon I don't think anyone plans on filling milk bottles with petrol and marching on parliament, but lots of people are in despair at the state of democracy in this country. I know we see things differently sometimes, but surely you, as an intelligent and caring and educated person are appalled at what Johnson and his cronies are doing? At the awarding of contracts to totally unsuitable people just because they know each other? This is beyond politics and is a scandal. As for janpt if she can't take it she shouldn't give it, she was the one throwing comments about Angela Rayner into the discussion.

Janpt Fri 23-Oct-20 17:21:52

Although Angela Rayner had a bad start in life she is now the Deputy leader of the Labour party. As such her language in parliament was totally unacceptable and no apology will condone it. She has let her side down badly not that I and many others mind too much.

Thanks for your support lemongrove. It doesn't bother me in the least. They just show themselves up for what they are. Typical left wing money grabbers who think there is a bottomless pit of money to be handed out to anyone who makes the wrong choice in life such as bringing into the world children they cannot afford to keep and just expect the tax payer to bring them up.

lemongrove Fri 23-Oct-20 17:31:59

Janpt has written her opinions ( and I agree with her on the subject of Raynor’s language ) and has remained calm and polite. Therefore she has ‘taken it’, but is entitled to her point of view.Be nice if others were polite in return.
The awarding of contracts ‘just because they know each other’ has been going on in politics since Adam was a lad.

lemongrove Fri 23-Oct-20 17:35:11

No, I don’t ‘despair’ ( that overused word on GN) at our democracy, although I have always thought Johnson a poor choice for either leader or PM.

biba70 Fri 23-Oct-20 17:37:33

The next United Kingdom general election is scheduled to be held on Thursday 2 May 2024 ...

consider the damage done so far - what will be left by then?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 23-Oct-20 17:38:25

Lemongrove jobs for mates goes on in every business however big or small, I agree.
No difference to the local builder giving his friends son a job.

The Government is doing it on an eye watering scale and have been caught red handed.

I hope that I am always polite in my posts , if they are perceived otherwise I apologise.

lemongrove Fri 23-Oct-20 17:39:23

What is fairly new is that we now all know much more about what goes on in politics, it’s reasonably transparent.
If we had been talking about politics in a village hall thirty years ago, none of us would have known much about what actually went on unless it was reported in the papers or heard on radio or discussed on the rare political tv programme.

lemongrove Fri 23-Oct-20 17:40:57

Yes GG13 you are always polite in your responses.?
